I think you're right, and I've made one of those. Just took a look under
the hood, all I see is the square diagnostic port by the battery.

Also noticed a coolant leak at the "y" junction for the heater core bypass,
piece looks corroded, so maybe need to run by the LKQ to snag one of those.

I'm so glad everything in our fleet is OBDII now, it makes basic

Yep that’s where you hook the blink tool up to various ports. Some of them have
a button in the port with a light so you don’t need the tool. If you have the
SDS system you can use that also if you have the banana clip harness with your
mux

Re: [MBZ] $500 Wagon Update, CE light is on now

2020-01-22 Thread Dan Penoff via Mercedes
Mine have always been intermittent failures, which is why I suspect they didn’t
throw codes. When I looked at the errors in SDS later on I could see the
failures, but I assume they have to be permanent faults to trigger the CEL.

Re: [MBZ] $500 Wagon Update, CE light is on now

2020-01-23 Thread Meade Dillon via Mercedes
Well the intermittent no-start is no longer intermittent, it is full time.
Fortunately I've got three other diesel 124s that run just fine, so shift
to the easiest to get out of the drive and motor on. I'll put the code
reader on it tonight and see if I can pull anything.
