Well, I made a mess of it.  The replacment I gave my indy is for the later 
model.  Should have gotten the 043 instead.

I have a dead injector.  #6 is not performing, though it is getting good 
signal.  I got a pair of injectors to my indy, but now I will have to get a 
better one.

However, the MegaSquirt® family of EFI Controllers is not designed to be
a 'no hassle' solution to user's EFI needs. Instead it is intended to be
an educational process. As a result, a large amount of reading and study
is required. If you are new to the MegaSquirt® community, you may find
there is a lot of new information to digest, and much of it will seem
confusing, or even contradictory. Your best bet is to read and re-read
the FAQ and the manual thoroughly.


That said, it may be the only real solution.

Not much different than the D-Jet  :-)
It might also reduce the fuel consumption. I was considering it when I had
the 450SLC, but lost interest.

Based on my ability to screw this car up, I would have great trepidation facing 
this DIY.

It would be nice to be able to upgrade to a newer tech.  I would have to get 
the car into better running condition and do a full renovation plan at that 
point to hit all the questionable bits as one.  Fuel, engine, sparks, 
injection.  Better, in my mind to tackle that when the engine is being rebuilt 
or having the heads done.  All the parts will be out and my indy will be more 
amenable, as well as my wallet

Out of curiosity, why are you replacing them? They typically don't wear out or 
go bad... unlike the K-jet injectors.

According to MB, 123s are classic status, that is relegated to the 
classic center and the 123 only and older parts prices are thus 
doubled, tripled or quadrupled in price.  124 and 126 are soon to 
follow.  If not for Q, we might not be able to justify parts prices.


My 124 and 126s are officially antiques and have antique license 
plates.   The good thing is that for the $25, they are licensed 
forever. unless they have to move to another state.

I have 8 to care for.  Even Q has been struck by the price increase.  Anybody 
know if the R107 injectors are the same as used in Volvo?  IT would be totally 
cool if they were the same.  I got the pair from fleabay, but they do not look 
to be the same as what is in the car.
