these sorts of prices.  Why are people all the sudden loving the 123?  
The 124 is superior in every way.

I think the 123 is more popular because of its ease of repair and that parts 
are still available.  I don't know about a 124, never had any interest in the 
newer models.  My Indie always said the newer ones were more complicated than 
necessary, harder to diagnose, and harder to repair.  Remember that the 123 was 
once the preferred taxi in most of Europe and the middle east...probably for a 
reason.  Again, to each his own.

The 115 was a rust magnet.  Cash for clunkers filled scrap yards with /8 cars.  
I scrounged a basement full of parts to try to keep my 220D road worthy

A w123 is a bit more complex and less prone to rusting to death.  There are 
also many more of them out on the road, as well as in parts yards.  Since MBNA 
is not stocking parts for old cars anymore, having access to parts in a junk 
yard is a solution.

The reason 123's are so popular is the hood opening to just past vertical -
the 115 was a pain in the head/neck to work on. You had to remove the hood
to extract the engine. Not so on the 123. The 124 doesn't look like a
classic Mercedes, nor does anything since.

Is this some sort of a trick question? Mercedesmotoring has been moving
redone wagons for 40k for awhile now. Just like 60s and 70s muscle cars,
which are all pretty much junk, but the people with nostalgia for them have
money. At least these old merc cars have some good design features and
higher quality components.

The things that would make it more likely to be accepted would be the stick and

I dont know…I got a lot of good info out of that conversation, and I lost 10 
pounds in the last week (I was working on it anyway, but the discussion helped 
me to stay motivated.)

Looking to knock off another 5 pounds this week if I can.  I have to go out 
tonight in search of some good fruit - I’ve been looking for some good figs.

For really sustainable weight loss I'd be aiming for 1-2 pounds a week. Big 
loss seems like a good game but its rarely sustainable.
The thing to remember here is you're making a lifestyle change. Diets will 
fail, a new lifestyle will stay...
