Not that I am condoning the acts you speak of, but In the 1700s in Virginia slavery was perfectly acceptable and fit into the social norms of the time. As far as the adultery went they were pretty commonplace then as they are now. VD is another matter and where it came from, but what I have read was pretty common as well. I have neither heard noe seen evidence of this for George Washington. I have on Jefferson, who to my knowledge was not a Mason. No one is suppressing religion anywhere...this is America not China we do whatever the heck we want here and I like it that way...it's just bad business practice to mix religion with work...name one, just one reason why it may be an advantage to mix religion with business...as a business owner won't do business with anyone who advertises religion along with thier business, it's just poor and unprofessional business practice...blasphemy! Re: [MBZ] Sad Death
As at devout liberterian I 100% agree...choices like that should be up to the business owner(s). I had a rather interesting experience working for a Mormon owned company, although very nice people I soon got fed up hearing about extreme religious right wing opinions (like the fact that our nation should be run by a theocratic govorment). In the end this type of philosophy cost the company alot of money because of the high turnover rate of employes who were less tolerant that I was. Just because you can doesen't mean you should. excuse my grammar and use of words but english is not my first language! Maybe I should just cast swine and see what becomes of them. No doubt I will not get a silk purse. Will surely get a two bit opinion. Re: [MBZ] Sad Death
Sadly, the stone things Moses drug down were for use by JEWS not christians, who just latched onto them. If you look at these rules in a secular light most apply to just being good people. If more BUSINESS and GOVERNMENT types cut back on the killing, greed, lust, avarice, coveting, gluttony, tried to honor their elders, and respected the RULE of LAW, we would have fewer issues with ENRON, fuel speculation, labor laws, and such. Honoring our mothers and fathers could be a real world issue. All the baby mamas are spitting out future criminals, and kids who do not have respect are great sociopaths. Stealing/theft seems to have a few rules on the books AS there seem to be a few rules about killing folk Unless you wanted to work 24/7, there are a few rules to keep you from being worked to death. Seems labor unions are big on striking, so the over work may be a real world issue. If you are a really under endowed person in looks, cash or other worldly virtues, I suspect you have no need to worry about adultery. Either committing or having it committed upon you. This does not stop our elected leaders who will deprive a man of his wife, or cheat himself upon his wife and children. Even those baby mamas end up costing you in taxes paid to raise the child through school and his time in jail. Looking at all the WTF listings Kaleb has posted, there are quite a few people posting cars that stretch the truth about just how wonderful that old benz is. 50mpg is a common stretch expected of the 300D to match the 600k for the engine to live. As for coveting... I guess just driving a benz predisposes you to need more, and to maybe want the ones fellow listers have, the guy on Craigslist has, all those pretty eBay cars, heck, even the rust lovelies Kaleb is storing in his yard. Actual posting was about the loss of COMMON SENSE, not religion. Re: [MBZ] Sad Death
Having seen some of the junk that Kaleb posts for us to look at, it is a sure sign that there is a dearth of common sense being applied to our dear sweet benz by eBay sellers. Too many WTF things done to make the car worth less than scrap. Also seems to be a great issue in the more snot nosed young whipper snapper benz drivers who are sure they "know" a whole bunch but are a few pats of butter short a pancake breakfast. Common Sense lived by simple, sound financial policies (don't spend more than you earn) and reliable parenting strategies (adults, not kids, are in charge). His health began to rapidly deteriorate when well intentioned but overbearing regulations were set in place. - Reports of a six-year-old boy charged with sexual harassment for kissing a classmate; teens suspended from school for using mouthwash after lunch; and a teacher fired for reprimanding an unruly student, only worsened his condition. Mr. Sense declined even further when schools were required to get parental consent to administer aspirin to a student; but, could not inform the parents when a student became pregnant and wanted to have an abortion. Finally, Common Sense lost the will to live as the Ten Commandments became contraband; churches became businesses; and criminals received better treatment than their victims. Common Sense finally gave up the ghost after a woman failed to realize that a steaming cup of coffee was hot, she spilled a bit in her lap, and was awarded a huge financial settlement.
