I'm thinking drain the fluid, brush the joint between the head and block clean where I see it bleedin, slather on the JBweld, wait a day or 3, refill radiator, and give it a try. The only vergasser I would consider is an e320 or similar. I know a 300E M103 will have a head gasket leak soon, if it does not already leak. (Unless there is a documented head gasket replacement within a few years.) I'm looking for a $500 to $1500 heap. That $600 SDL in Chit cago would be a candidate if it was not so far away. I'm also considering a 2009+ dogde GC with 150 to 175k as a replacement for the current one, and relegating the current one to work detail. Hauling junk around seems to be part of the plan for the next few yars. I can get one for about 3500. Around here, people seem to want $1500 for non-running heaps of any flavor. It doesn't do so well above 500F - but the water jacket will never get that hot. Pile up the JBWeld on the outside seems to me to have a slim chance - but it's also not much work. I posted that $700 E the other day that probably just needed a conductor plate or connector or something. 722.6 is $350 at the junkyard here so worse is to do a transplant and get a runner. Or buy that decent looking rear-ended S320 and tape up the trunk and just drive it. --FT Sent from iPhone > On Jan 6, 2019, at 10:25 PM, Rick Knoble via Mercedes > wrote: > > > Curley (don't call me Shirley) McClean sez: > >> Well, it may be the end of the road for the rusty SDL > > Are you in eye oh wah, North of The Cheddar Curtain, Lou easy Anna, or where > now? > Rick > ___ > http://www.okiebenz.com > > To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ > > To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: > http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com > ___ http://www.okiebenz.com To search list archives http://www.okiebenz.com/archive/ To Unsubscribe or change delivery options go to: http://mail.okiebenz.com/mailman/listinfo/mercedes_okiebenz.com
