We have one mirror server mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu, and because it has too many

so we would like to put apache mirror on that server also (apache has mirror
on mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu)

is that possible?
server IP is 147.91.8.38 and it is synced from mirror.etf.bg.ac.yu
content is accessible trough http only for now but it will be accessible
trough ftp and rsync in next few days
Could you please submit your new mirror using the instructions here:

That way I won't miss it the next time I do updates.
Thanks.

With about 6 gigs of data, and about 24K files, I would bet its considerably
larger than the qmail mirror.
It takes about 10 seconds (if that) to do a update for the apache mirror.
Because there are so many files, I suggest you run rsync with the --delete-after
That should speed things up considerably.

The most common source of these errors is different rsync client

 The final URLS are:

URL of mirror (HTTP) : http://apache.forthnet.gr/dist
URL of mirror (FTP) : ftp://ftp.forthnet.gr/pub/www/apache/dist

  In that case

http://apache.forthnet.gr/

will still point to the 'apache root', which will not be updated.

I think that 'http://apache.forthnet.gr/' should show the 'dist'
  directory.

  You would have to :

-- move directory 'dist' up one level ( to pub/www )
  -- remove apache/
  -- rename 'dist' to 'apache'
-- *** change the destination directory in your rsync job ***

  Then:

URL of mirror (HTTP) : http://apache.forthnet.gr/
URL of mirror (FTP) : ftp://ftp.forthnet.gr/pub/www/apache/

It does not appear to me that you have all the correct IndexOptions set
for this mirror as request on the how-to-mirror page. (In particular,
the NameWidth option is important.)

Could you please correct that and then resubmit all the details.
Thanks.

Fwd: Apache mirror resource usage

Subject: Apache mirror resource usage
Hi Eric,
I see you replying to Apache mirror requests so I hope you might be
able to
help.

I would like to become an Apache mirror but I would like to know what
resource load to expect:
- What is the bandwidth usage
- What is the # downloads/sec (a typical graph for a week would be
nice)
- Can I distribute the load to several networks?
- If I exceed my quota, can I redirect to another network or suspend?
- Do I have any control over the load?

Thanks.
	Tonny
Tonny,
I'm not able to provide any detailed statistics but some of the mirror
administrators subscribed to the mirrors mailing list (cc'ed) reported
some useful stats in the past. Have a look at the mailing list archives
[1] or see the following URL for the statistics of a random US mirror:

  http://mirrors.xtria.com/awstats/awstats.pl?config=mirrors.xtria.com
Maybe someone can come up with some other stats or even help you with
some of your other questions.

Cheers,
Erik

The NH users probably won't have a problem. But when you get on the
mirror list and you get 10 or 15 cable modem buggers downloading the
latest release all at once your line's gonna sh*t the bed. :)

It's just not fast enough is all, no comment on the your quality or
intentions which are both honorable and gracious.

OK fine, I did not realize this was an issue.
Users here in NH can download quick and with no problems. But if that's
how it is, I'll kill the mirror and you won't have to worry about it.

I will still use apache on that server, promote
apache as much as possible, just won't mirror it I guess.
