Re: [Mobile.AI] Choices, choices and more choices

2015-12-10 Thread Shek Mohammad Ali

Hi Hanif,
may be that phone had some manufacturing defects. could you point out such
circumstances when it was hanging?
I have been using iPhone 5S without any hitch and Indeed 6 is also being
used and never heard such buggy. IOS 8.3 was reported such contexts where
it was hanging from some of folks in my surrounding and indeed later
versions of 8.3 it was fixed

Hello to all,

Thanks to each and everyone for your responses. I am aware of the
accessibility bugs on both iOS and Android however, I just wanted personal
opinions.

My wife's iPhone 6 hanged a few times on her, almost died and this was
when she really needed it. That kinda puts me off.

Either way, I will always have access to alternative devices as I am
working with Huawei, LG, Samsung, AGMobile and other manufacturers in my
country.

I just wanted to decide on a primary phone.

Thanks once again.

Take care and have a blessed day/evening further.

Kind regards
Hanif Kruger

when it comes to the accessibility I think you must be well aware of

Re: [Mobile.AI] How to Copy Contacts In Apple?

2015-11-01 Thread Shek Mohammad Ali

you cannot copy contacts directly from the memory card in to apple.
backup all your contacts in to your desired folder on PC and merge all vcf
files in to one vcf file.
then attach that vcf file in to your mail which is configured on your
Iphone.
once you open the mail, open that attached vcf file and it will prompt you
to import all contacts.

Mohib,
this is my personal opinion consider it if it worths for you.
you do not require keyboard at any cause on Iphone if you are a fan of
braille.
braille screen input does amazing on Iphone for typing in any areas, quickly
locating apps on home screen and even navigating among various web elements.
just get familiarised with the braille screen input and see. else you can
go for below mentioned case. I doubt whether it is available in india.

Unfortunately I don't know braille, however I am familiour with
braille input method. I tried few android applications for texting by
braille input method, but it was taking more time. I am focusing on
speediness of any text input method, because I use my mobile phone a

my Boss is dictating me some number for instance, I don't want to
create an impression in their mind that I am incredibly slow in taking

Even I am not satisfied with the performance of android in terms of
doing basic tasks, such as sending text messages after fumbling a lot,
and placing call after committing several mistakes.
I am unable to check my mails in my android, as its not easy to read

I am not talking about advance use of the phone, , but I am looking
only basic operations with greater ease. If I will be having this

While this new braille input system is a wonderful feature, it does
have a few caveats you need to know about. Note that I assume you
are already familiar with braille, and the basic VoiceOver gestures
of swiping with one or more fingers and double tapping to activate
items.

Setting It Up
Enabling Braille Screen Input
When you first get iOS8, braille will not be available by default.
You can easily enable it, though: open the Settings app, go to
General, then Accessibility, then VoiceOver, then Rotor. Find the
Braille screen input option and double tap to select it (if it is
already selected for some reason, simply leave it alone). In the
initial release of iOS8, this option is the very last one in the
list. Once it is selected, you are set to start using braille input.
Please note that moving this item around in your rotor will not
affect its position, as it always appears to the right of whichever
rotor item you are currently on. This makes it quick to switch to so
you can starthtyping without needing to move through a bunch of
rotor items first.

To choose the default braille table, contracted status, or 8 dot

change the code in use with a three-finger swipe right or left while
you are using the on-screen braille keyboard; these instructions are
to set the code used when you first switch to braille.

Open Settings, then go to General, Accessibility, VoiceOver, Braille
(note that this is not the Braille option in the rotor)
Find the Braille Screen Input button, which will have the currently
selected code after it. Double tap this button.
You are now in a screen where all the available input codes are
presented. Choose from uncontracted 6 dot braille, uncontracted 8
dot braille (iPad only), or contracted braille, then activate the
Back button.
Now that you've set your default input type, make sure the translation
table is correct. I am in the United States, so I can't speak to how
this will work in other locales. Here, we have both UEB, U.S. English

2014-12-30 Thread Shek Mohammad Ali
I second your views. indeed there is no discussion here IOS VS android. it
is better to stick to the thread rather redirecting. and this guy I've
observed couple of times he pokes IOS in to any android related post.

We'll have you done any thorough study to justify this? Also it is a
choice of every individual. By the way, I don't think there was any poll
here asking which is the best.

Hey there android lollipop has nothing major, just better web views.
Google doesn't care much about accessibility.
iOS is best.

Accessibility features in Android 5.0 Lollipop
Much of Lollipop's accessibility features are unchanged from KitKat, but
there are a few new bits inside
With Android 5.0 Lollipop comes a whole bunch of accessibility features
for those who need to use them. While many have been carried across from
previous versions of Android, there are some new things inside that will
open things up to a new audience who perhaps struggled to use the
platform before.
This is just the base of what's going to be on Android devices from
Lollipop and up. Device makers can build upon this as they desire. But,
read on to see an overview of what's what in Android 5.0.

A video walkthrough
The features
In one handy list, here's an overview of everything you'll find in the
Lollipop accessibility menu. The old and the not so old.

Services
•Talkback: Google Talkback will give you verbal, audio, and vibration
cues by acting as a built-in screen reader. It's perfect for the
visually impaired and can be activated with ease from inside the
accessibility menu. For more on Google Talkback check out our complete
guide here
•Switch Access: A new addition for Lollipop, it allows you to configure
hard buttons to perform certain tasks to enable better navigation for
the visually impaired and makes a pretty powerful tool when paired up
with Talkback.

System
•Captions: Enables the system wide closed caption system for videos.
Having been introduced in KitKat it's still possible some users haven't
had chance to try it out yet. It allows videos to display captions based
on the parameters decided upon here, and you can change the text size
and color within set parameters.
•Magnification Gestures: Magnifies the entire system UI. Activate by
triple-tapping on the display inside any apps on the device, pan around
using a two-finger drag and zoom in/out further using pinch-to-zoom.
•Large Text: - If you just want the text bigger, everywhere, activate it
here. You don't get to choose how much bigger it is, but it does exactly
what it says it will. You can fine tune the text size further in the
display options.
•High Contrast Text: Instead of making text bigger, this will highlight
items that are naturally more difficult to read for visually impaired
people. White text (regardless of the background color it sits on top
of) will be outlined in black and lighter colors such as grays are made
black so they're easier to see.
•Auto Rotate Screen: Duplicated from the Display menu. Sets the display
to rotate to landscape mode whenever you need it to. However not all
apps will work in landscape mode, sadly.
•Speak Passwords: Exactly what it says it does. Use only if you really,
really need to use it and please use it with caution even then.
•Accessibility shortcut: This will allow you to quickly enable
accessibility features, even while the device is locked.
•Text to Speech: This allows you to choose the text-to-speech engine of
your choice, where Google's is the default. Even then you've got
languages galore to choose from and even the ability to pick male/female
voices and the quality of sound you want to hear. Downloading a UK
English female voice in high quality was around 280MB by example.
•Touch and Hold Delays: For those with dexterity issues, how long you
need to press and hold to complete actions could be an issue. This
allows you to alter the duration required to three different settings.

Display
There are some new options for Lollipop designed to assist those with
visual impairments related to color.
•Color Inversion:

You can use master debit card or visa debit card to purchase apps from
play store. Generaly banks LIKE SBI issue maestro debit card or rupay
debit card. These cards are not accepted in play store. So upgrade
your debit card to master or visa card. You can upgrade this card from
your bank. You have to pay anual charges per annum. It is around 150
to 200 rupee. You have to register this debit card for online
transaction from your bank website.

I purchased ETI eloquence from playstore with my visa debit card.

Thank you.
