Re: [ANNOUNCE] RoboWeb 1.0b, web application test suite generator
I have developed a semi-automatic test generator for web applications. I've called it RoboWeb and it's now available for download from sourceforge, hoping that it can be useful to others. Unbelievable... Three days ago I looked for something suitable for writing test suites and came up a blank, so for the last 3 days I've been writing WWW::Automate. And now this great looking package appears when I'm 75% done! Anyhow, I'll finish what I'm doing over the weekend and release it, since it has some different functionality to RoboWeb, including finding form elements to fill in based on their relationship to other elements (e.g. the text field after the text 'User Name:' or The checkbox in the table column headed 'Flag', in the 3rd row). We should investigate how these 2 projects can work together when I'm done so that RoboWeb 'recorded' sessions can create WWW::Automate methods that utilise the structure of the page. The benefits of doing this are: 1- Resultant scripts are easier to interpret 2- Scripting apps that vary their form field names works. -- Jeremy Howard [EMAIL PROTECTED]

One of these days I'll get back to work on and probably base it on Apache::Test or even merge it in, since the two have a lot in common. _ Stas Bekman JAm_pH -- Just Another mod_perl Hacker http://stason.org/ mod_perl Guide http://perl.apache.org/guide mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] http://apachetoday.com http://eXtropia.com/ http://singlesheaven.com http://perl.apache.org http://perlmonth.com/

If you look at it rationally, if anybody other than yourself could remove you on the say-so of an unverifiable email then there would be no security worth mentioning. Perl::Flash PerlFlash
Hi, I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Perl::Flash (http://www.2shortplanks.com/flash/) or the PerlFlash (http://www.the-labs.com/PerlFlash/) packages. The deal is that both modules have problems with converting images (gif jpeg) to the SWF format. When this is done, the modules both seem to print out blank spaces where the picture should've went. Has anyone experience this problem or/and fixed it perhaps, or is this just a stupid mistake on my behalf? I've included the code I use to do this below (in case this is a programming error). Any suggestions/comments would be well appreciated. P.S. If anyone knows about any other PERL Flash modules, please don't hesitate to mention them ;) CODE: (PerlFlash Test (http://www.the-labs.com/PerlFlash/) === #!/usr/bin/perl -w ### # PerlFlash Wrapper test # ### use Flash; Flash::open('test.swf',256,256,20); Flash::ortho2(-100,100,-100,100); Flash::defineBitmap(1,test.jpg); Flash::placeObject(1,50); Flash::showFrame(); Flash::close; === Magnus Thor Jonsson http://www.adlib.is/

I don't know if this could be related to your problem but last I checked those modules hadn't been updated in quite a while, and were both incomplete in terms of implementation. If their authors have stopped working on them, then it is possible that there are pending bugs that are unresolved, and may unfortunately never be fixed. P.S. If anyone knows about any other PERL Flash modules, please don't hesitate to mention them ;) Well, it's probably not _the_ answer but have you considered using SVG instead of Flash ? SVG can do what Flash does and more, and its only problem (lack of wide user base) is being solved at great pace by the fact that Adobe are bundling their SVG plugin with Acrobat Reader, meaning millions of people are getting SVG every day. SVG is XML so it's really easy to generate it from Perl (just like HTML) using some template system or AxKit. Just gzip the output and you're done :) -- ___ Robin Berjon [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- CTO k n o w s c a p e : // venture knowledge agency www.knowscape.com --- Give a man a fish and he will eat for a day. Prototype mismatch using
Windows 2000 Apache/1.3.19 (Win32) mod_perl/1.26_01-dev Hi all, I have a very simple cgi script: #!c:/perl/bin/perl.exe use constant TEST = 'test'; print Content-Type: text/plain\n\n; print = TEST = @{[TEST]}\n; I get stuck with the following warning in my error log: Prototype mismatch: sub Apache::ROOT::perl::test::test_2ecgi::TEST vs () at c:/Perl/lib/constant.pm line 91. It only seems to appear when I use Apache::PerlRun. When the script is executed with Apache::Registry, no such error appears... Has anybody a clue to avoid this error? I looked in google and groups.google for solutions, but I didn't find any... I configured my Apache as follows: snippet of http.conf: IfModule mod_alias.c ### snip ### Alias /perl D:/develop/perl Alias /mod_perl D:/develop/perl ### snip ### Location ~ ^\/perl\/.*\.cgi$ SetHandler perl-script PerlHandler Apache::PerlRun Options +ExecCGI /Location Location ~ ^\/mod_perl\/.*\.cgi$ SetHandler perl-script PerlHandler Apache::Registry Options +ExecCGI /Location /IfModule The goal is testing my perl cgi-scripts with PerlRun or Registry, dependent on the alias 'perl' or 'mod_perl'. Kind regards, Walter Lievens

[OT] Re: Perl::Flash PerlFlash
hi, I'm the author of the ming XS code. I posted it to the ming mailing list a while back but didn't have the chance to fix all bugs/memory leaks. I don't really recommend using it under mod_perl. Though I got involved in other projects and didn't work on it for a long time, I have a much improved version which I never posted. Please contact me privately if you need further info (I assume that ming is OT). Thanks Soheil On Fri, 20 Jul 2001, Nouguier Olivier wrote: Jónas Tryggvi Jóhannsson wrote: P.S. Jónas Tryggvi Jóhannsson sent the following bits through the ether: I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with the Perl::Flash (http://www.2shortplanks.com/flash/) or the PerlFlash Yes, I've been helping Simon Wistow with Perl::Flash stuff. He's presenting a talk about it at the O'Reilly Open Source conference next week and the code has changed a lot recently (and not the website ;-). However, at the moment it's more geared towards parsing Flash files rather than generating them. Please check out the CVS code at: http://sourceforge.net/projects/gravel/ or join the mailing list at http://www.astray.com/mailman/listinfo/gravel or come and talk to us in the conference ;-) Leon -- Leon Brocard.http://www.astray.com/ Iterative Software...http://www.iterative-software.com/ ...
