My God, how did you find this one? ;-) Waiting longer than a minute doesn't show the problem... Problem confirmed on - NT4 Workstation SP4 IE5 - NT4 Server SP4 IE4.01SP1 Coudn't confirm it on any other browser (Opera, Netscape) and also not when using the ISP proxy (I'm a cablesurfer ;-) )... 2-3 minutes is too long. Sorry I did not specify clearer. You must refresh between 16 and 59 secs after the page completes. RE: New Info (PR#136) repeatable on https://en4.engelschall.com
Just for further information this has been duplicated on NT4.0 SP3 & 4, Win98, IE4.0 & IE5.0. It has been duplicated on 10 different machines ranging from celeron 300's to dual processor PII400's at 3 seperate locations. I would not submit a problem that I felt could not be duplicated or only happened on a single machine. I have duplicated it on IE5.00.2014.0216 so it is not a generalization. It happens on IE4.0 and greater and possibly earlier versions as well. If it is necessary to know I can use a verisign certificate and test with a 3.02 version. It did not show up until mod_ssl-2.2.5. RE: New Info (PR#136) repeatable on https://en4.engelschall.com
(PR#136) does exists on en4.engelschall.com. This problem does not exists on mod_ssl-2.2.3. This started after you moved the close connection stuff. So I would disagree with your statement. > > So, what's the current state, friends? Also, the silly bug was fixed that you had to delete the cache after accepting a new CA certificate. All that looks really nice now -- different from Netscape, but everything seems to make sense. The problem is of course that IE 5 is not available for Macs (after all, it's a core part of the Windows operating system, as everyone knows by now :-). When I try to connect, I receive an dialog saying that IE wasn't able to connect and that the browser received an incorrect or unknown reply from the server. But that's really a different kind of problem and not caused by mod_ssl. So, what's the current state, friends? I just discovered I couldn't connect to this site with Mac IE 4. However, I got a different error message, so I assume it may be another problem, perhaps my own IE configuration. (I use it rarely. :) My error is is something like: "Unable to estabish a secure connection ... there is a problem with the security certificate from this site."
