Title: Listserv Issues Resolved MoPo'ers: American University informs me that MoPo should be back to normal. Our group had to be "recreated" on AU's listserv. Unfortunately this has caused some additional problems: 1) Some of you receiving posts may be surprised since you UNSUBSCRIBED from MoPo--some many months ago. I'm not sure what sub list AU used, but it appears some former subscribers have been reinstated. My apologies to those of you--we're not trying to force you to be a part of MoPo. Simply unsubscribe again by sending a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and type in the BODY of your message SIGNOFF MOPO-L. Or e-mail me and I'll remove you. 2) Those of you who received MoPo posts in DIGEST form will have to re-set that option with the listserv. You can do this by sending a message to [EMAIL PROTECTED] and type in the BODY of your message SET MOPO-L DIGEST. Again, I can set the option for you if you have a problem. The AOL delivery issue remains unresolved, but AU claims it is on AOL's side. Again, sorry for all the problems. Must be the heat. Phil, So I replied to him about that, stripped out all the links he'd asked for to look at some posters, made sure there were no "offensive" words or ones that could be construed that way y some AOL filters and sent it off into the ether and asked Freeman to contact me if he got it. So far nothing. Same here, I have spent 4 hours trying to figure out which URL was the culprit. Even splitting it up with spaces or making it plain text didn't work. The final attept I made was to zip en email text in a password protected zipfile. Attach that to an empty email. Helluva job to do but in extreme cases it might help getting through to the receiver unless they think its a virus. This way AOL can't scan the message anymore, both attachment and content that is. They warn the receiver about that too. Something like 'attachment could not be scanned, may contain a virus' There is no mention about email content scanning however which is probably best for them because that way there is no physical proof that they do. If there was they were probably in court by now.. Yes, this is frustrating all around. Apparently, though, it is not exclusively an AOL problem, at least as far as MOPO goes. I've been contacted by several MOPOers who do not use AOL telling me they haven't received MOPO mail in several weeks -- so the problem seems larger than just AOL. And Phil, the Yank constitution provides for a check on government, and unfortunately not on public corporations. The first amendment says *Congress* shall make no law abridging the freedom of speech or of the press. Since attempts to AOL customer service have been unproductive, maybe contacting customer RELATIONS at AOL corporate might be of more help. As of the moment, for me, I am getting sporadic messages from MOPO, and those I do get are 2 or 3 days late.
