Re: [MOPO] NEED SUGGESTIONS FOR DISPLAYING KING KONG PUZZLE 1933

2007-06-15 Thread Michael Wong
Hi Mark,
I'd be very interested in hearing what you end up doing with your puzzle. I
have one too that I put together on a piece of cardboard and then carefully
slid into my flat file. When I moved 2 yrs ago, the whole thing came apart.

There were lots of oddball promo items put out by the studios. I have a can
of Soylent Green, which actually has a First Aid kit inside. For Duel in the
Sun, there is a wanted poster of Gregory Peck. More recently for a Alicia
Silverstone/Brendan ? comedy, they put out a old style lunchbox with cool 50's
artwork on it.

Am I the only one who didn't know what CFTBL 1954 is? Or am I the only one
who cared?

One of my favorite (and I think most befitting) promo items is a
knife and fork set that was made for HANNIBAL.

Quite stylish, with the title discreetly etched in the handles.

I'd love to own one of those SOYLENT GREEN cans as well, so if
anybody has one for sale, please let me know.

[MOPO] FS: The BRAND NEW 2007 edition of Movie Poster Sales Results is here

2007-06-15 Thread Bruce Hershenson
The BRAND NEW 2007 edition of Movie Poster Sales Results is here (we have
literally just received the printed copies, hot off the presses!). For a
limited time, we offer that, anyone who purchases it for the insanely low cover
price of just $10 will also receive all THREE of our previous editions! That
means you get 100,000 verified prices for just $10 for all FOUR volumes! To
order, ask for the "Movie Poster Sales Results Megapack!", which contains the
2007, 2006, 2005, and 2004 editions of Movie Posters Sales Results (100,000
Prices!).
This is an incredible $30.00 savings for all four! Remember that, unlike
price guides, these solely contain verified Sales Results (100% accurate, with
no canceled or re-negotiated sales), so the old editions remain quite valuable
as reference guides, ESPECIALLY BECAUSE EACH MOSTLY ONLY HAS RESULTS FROM THAT
YEAR, so there is very little "overlap" from edition to edition. You'll have
100,000 veri-fied movie poster sales prices at your fingertips!
To get YOUR set of all four publications (the 2004, 2005, 2006, and the
BRAND NEW 2007 Sales Results, containing a total of 100,000 verified movie
paper prices), you need to pay us just $10.00 plus $4.60 for Priority Mail
Shipping (if you live in the U.S.)
for all 4 volumes. If you live in Canada or Mexico, the shipping is $9 for all
4 volumes, and all other customers who live outside the U.S. must pay $11 for
all 4 volumes.
We realize that some of you may have one or more of these past editions,
but we think it makes sense to get fresh copies of them, as you may well have
worn them out looking at prices (and besides, the three earlier editions don't
cost you one cent)! It is great to have printed copies of all four of these,
to take with you on your next buying trip, or to have anywhere where you do not
have computer access.
To pay for your order, You can call 417 256 9616 with a credit card during
our business hours (8:30-12, 1-5 CST, Monday to Friday), fax 417 257 6948 with
a credit card 24 hours a day, or e-mail with a credit card (you can break it in
two e-mails if you're worried about security, but we've never had a problem).
Of course if you’ve ordered from eMoviePoster.com in the past year via credit
card we have your information on file (as long as you’re using the same card,
and the expiration date is the same). Or you can mail a check or money order to:
Bruce Hershenson
Attn: Payments
P.O. Box 874
West Plains, MO 65775.
If you do, please include the name of the item you are purchasing with your
payment. It is fine with us if you pay by PayPal. To do so, follow the
step-by-step instructions on the following page of our website:
http://tinyurl.com/a9rgt.
If you've ordered from eMoviePoster.com in the past via credit card (and it
hasn't expired) then we have your credit card and address info on file (as long
as you want to use the same card, of course). In that case, you can just reply
to this e-mail, and add, "Put this on my card you have on file and send it
right out" (if you have multiple items, please state that as well) and we'll
certainly get it off to you within 5 business days (most orders go out within
48 hours!).
If you have never ordered from us before (or if it has been a while since
your last order), you should go to
http://www.emovieposter.com/ebaypages/newbuyers.htm This page contains a lot of
information about how we pack and send orders.

[MOPO] FA: 600+ GREAT non-U.S. posters AND 100 really cool "candid" stills!

2007-06-15 Thread Bruce Hershenson
WE ARE SENDING THIS E-MAIL TO MOPO BECAUSE WE HAVE TWO GREAT AUCTIONS (one of
663 rolled non-U.S. posters, and the other of 100 GREAT vintage candid 8" x 10"
stills) CLOSING ON JUNE 19TH AND 21ST!

What is in our Tuesday night auctions that close TUESDAY, June 19th on eBay?
663 rolled non-U.S. posters (including Japanese, Polish, and many more!), all
currently on eBay ending Tuesday, June 19th beginning around 7 PM CST! Read
more about these great items below, or go see them right now (with large
thumbnails and links to these great auctions on eBay for easy bidding) in our
Tuesday Auction
Gallery!
What are some of the best items in this current Tuesday auction? The
auction begins with Italian photobustas and locandinas, and follows with small
and medium French posters, Mexican, Danish, Czech, Belgian, Yugoslav, and
German posters! At the end of the auction are 130 Polish posters (many with
sensational graphics), 31 assorted Japanese posters of many different sizes,
and finally 164 Japanese posters that measure 20" x 28".
Some of the best of the Polish posters are: West Side Story, Graduate,
Klute, Killing of a Chinese Bookie, Nashville, Five Easy Pieces, El Dorado
(with GREAT Jerzy Flisak art!), and many, MANY more!
Some of the best of the Japanese posters are: Throne of Blood (FIRST
release!), 400 Blows R80s, Bad Sleep Well 2panel, Godzilla vs the Sea Monster
2panel, Godzilla vs Megalon (as well as SEVERAL other great original Godzilla
posters!), Birds (pictures Alfred Hitchcock!), Valley of the Dolls, Italian
Job, Champion 2panel, and many, MANY more!
Some of the best of the other non-U.S. posters are: Cool Hand Luke (10
different Italian photobustas in 8 separate auctions!), The Bicycle Thief (two
of the best Italian photobustas in two separate auctions!), Jamaica Inn
Mexican, Terminator Czech, Unknown Men of San Marino Mexican, Erotic Nights of
the Living Dead Italian loc, Pulp Fiction German, and many, MANY more!
With so many excellent non-U.S. posters, there is every likelihood that
some or many will go for bargain prices! You might not see this many quality
Polish, Japanese, and other non-U.S. posters in any one "major" auction (and
then of course, you will be faced with sky-high reserve prices, and those
maddening "buyer premiums"!).

A SPECIAL NOTICE ABOUT THE COLLECTION OF 195 JAPANESE POSTERS AND 130 POLISH
POSTERS WE ARE SELLING THIS WEEK: We have been consigned a really excellent
collection of 195 Japanese posters, and separately, an excellent collection of
130 Polish posters! Are you one of the few collectors who have not yet
discovered the wonderful movie posters from these two countries? If so, we
urge you to carefully look at both of these great collections, and consider
adding at least one of each to your collection. Most Japanese and Polish
posters have completely different images from those printed in the U.S., and
they are often superior to the corresponding U.S. poster. It is interesting to
note that Polish posters are often very surreal, and sometimes have next-to-no
connection to the movie they are advertising (in some cases, it seems that the
poster artist was told the NAME of the movie, but nothing else about the movie,
and they created whatever image that title suggested to them, an!
d many Polish posters have really striking, and often dark images that can be
displayed and enjoyed, even if you are not at all a fan of the movie they
advertise). WARNING! Once you buy a few of these, you are in danger of
becoming "hooked", and you may find you need to keep purchasing them on a
regular basis. If this happens to you, don't say we didn't warn you!

What is in our Thursday night auctions that close THURSDAY June 21st on eBay?
100 GREAT vintage candid 8" x 10" stills (ALL great behind-the-scenes
images)!
What are some of the best stills in this current Thursday auction? The
auction solely contains stills that show candid "behind-the-scenes" images from
movies (sometimes the stars are on the set of the movie, and sometimes they are
in publicity shots), and many of these images can't be found anywhere else!
Note that, having sold a HUGE number of vintage stills, I KNOW for certain
that candid stills are FAR more rare than stills with scenes from the movies!
Plus, candid stills often reveal information about the stars (or relaxed or
unflattering images of them) that is practically lost to history, for I know of
nowhere that these images can be found OTHER than through actually purchasing
the vintage candid stills themselves!
Some of the best titles include Metropolis (a great image of 2,000 extras
who had their head shaved!), Wedding March (Erich von Stroheim editing the
movie!), The Mummy (Karloff being wrapped in 250 yards of bandages!), King Kong
(three very different candid images!), Seven Year Itch (Tom Ewell trying to
make

Aloha MoPo,

Sorry for the use of acronyms, a habit from 25 years
in the US Navy! Someone asked what CFTBL was.

CFTBL = Creature From the Black Lagoon

Best,
Mark

Thank you for responses, but I'm trying again because I would like
several of these.

Movie Collector's World #677 November 2004

issue.

No missing pages or cuts. Tears and folds are ok.

Thank you for any help you can give me.
