gbnet.net
Recently, I tried to resubscribe to the list and my mail stayed in the mail queue for a few days. The gbnet smtp server keeps dropping the connection each time my smtp server initiated a connection. Why is the mutt listserver at gbnet.net and the list at mutt.org? Mutt and signing email
I have the following setting in my .muttrc and I am trying to sign the email in clear text before sending it out. set pgp_autosign=yes set pgp_list_secring_command=~/.gnupg/secring.gpg set pgp_list_pubring_command=~/.gnupg/pubring.gpg When I send myself a test message, Mutt prompts me for PGP password. I am using GPG and typed in the GPG password, then the following error message shows up, "Can't open PGP subprocess!: No such file or directory (errno = 2)" I am using the "Mutt-i, GnuPG and PGP Howto" document to sign my email. In the document (section 6.5), it recommends the use of the following command, set pgp_default_version=gpg When I insert this command in .muttrc, Mutt complains that the command doesn't exist. I do not see it in the Mutt manual either. Is there any other howto or manual that explains, how to sign the email and how to verify received email? I have no problem setting up Windows/OS/2 clients to connect to the Qmail server to relay the messages. The problem I am facing now is *nix clients. It looks like the *nix clients (with the exception of Pine) do require a local SMTP server to relay to the main SMTP server. One of the clients, I am using is mutt. I would like to know the number that appears in the index page in "( xxx)". What is this number and how is it calculated? I use fetchmail. Sometimes fetchmail timesout, when it tries to bring 20K size "octets" of single mail. The average size reported by fetchmail is around 5K octets. I would like fetchmail to delete such file sizes. I realy don't care what in it. When I look at the mutt index, many are in the range of 0-200. How is this number derived? Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/

Playing WAV
How can I set up to play a WAV file, after I receive new mail? Currently, the mutt can be setup to beep. Any suggestions? Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
alias use while creating note
I have "set edit_hdrs", which allows me to edit my headers. I have "set askcc" too. If I decide to Cc, someone WHILE typing the note, can I add the alias in the Cc field, or do I have to type the FQA? I hope this is clear. Thank you in advance. Aliases in Mutt
Mutt is my email client. I have created aliases for some users. After I type the alias name in the "To:" field, during the mail creation the alias name is followed by my ISP's address. The alias name does not get expanded to the FQA of the alias person. How can I fix this addressing problem? Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
Missing colors
I do have some basic colors working. When I try different colors, that are listed by the 'showrgb' command, mutt does not find most of these colors. Why is that? How can I use some of the colors listed by 'showrgb'? Thank you in advance. Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
Return reciepts
I have a question about return receipts. Are return receipts handled at the client level or by the MTA? If at the client level, in this case mutt, how can I return receipt for only address? One of my friends, sends email with a return receipt request. I would like to return receipt only for his address and turn down the rest. Can this be done in mutt? Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
Detaching a file??
How do I detach a file in mutt? Some of the users are MS users and send my Word97 or Powerpoint presenations. How can I detach it and save it to a file? TIA. Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
Color xterm??
Is color xterm a requirement for mutt's color feature? I am using Slackware 4. The "ls" command has several color options, where I see a different color for each file type. If this xterm works for "ls" with color, then mutt's got to work too. I have installed ncurses-5.0 and that is not helping either. Any pointers to get colors working... Sent mail
I am using the Maildir format for my email. Mutt reads the incoming mail fine. Where is the outgoing mail saved? How do I see what email I have sent through mutt? TIA. Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
Mutt in xterm
I am a newbie to Mutt and have several questions. I us Mutt in xterms in FVWM2 (and not in any other Window Manager). The version of Mutt on my system is 1.0us The colors do not seem to work. I have several questions about the huge configuration options available for mutt. 1. I would like the index section with paging section, while using mutt. 2. How do I view messages that are threaded? 10 N T Nov 11 [EMAIL PROTECTED] ( 0) Lottery Winners When I use 'n' after reading a note in the thread, mutt goes to the next email (not threaded), in the index. 3. Last but least, how do I get colors to work? I have included my muttrc below. Any suggestions to get the features I want to work, is appreciated. Thank you in advance. Colors
How do I get colors to work in Xterm? The "showrgb" command lists the color that are available. I can create Xterm with various colors. The color setting in .muttrc, do not seem to be working. Any idea, how I can get colors to work in Mutt? Thank you in advance. Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] == Disclaimer - I question and speak for myself. http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/ __
mutt with Qmail
Is anyone using this combination, on their Linux system? Qmail is delivering the mail to ~/Maildir, as it is supposed to. I want to read the mail. How do I configure mutt to read these notes? Compilation messages
Hello, I am new to mutt client. I am trying to compile the mutt source. These are the followng messages, I get /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `<"p>'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `<"d>'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `<"i>'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `<+_>'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_10646: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_8859-1,GL: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_8859-1,GL: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_8859-1,GL: No unicode value for `'. /usr/share/i18n/charmaps/ISO_8859-1,GL: No unicode value for `'. I have trimmed the above messages a lot. At the end of compilation, I do get the mutt binary and works fine. However, I would like to avoid the above errors, I do not have a ISO_10646 and did download ISO_8859-1,GL (from some site I cannot remember now). What are the importance of these files and where do I get these files, to avoid the compilation warnings? Thank you in advance. Marking and saving
Hello How can I mark/select a bunch of messages and put them in a folder? I tried "t", then when I say create the folder, only the last one is saved in the folder. Is there any other way to do this? I don't want to save one message at a time. Thank you in advance. Subba Rao [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://pws.prserv.net/truemax/
