I am trying to set up a hotmail account but neither konqueror or netscape will allow me to enter the hotmail site in order to check my mail. (they let me set up an account just fine) Is this just a MS anti linux thing or am I doing something wrong? Hi all. Im having trouble with my printer. (again) Its now working but the left margin is too small, cutting of the first letter of every line. U. I am starting to think that cups is pretty crummy. I changed the printer driver to see if this would affect the page margins (since I had no problems with the postscript driver before) The printer is now simply spilling out blank pages, even though the job has since been deleted and the printer has been stopped. Everything on my pc says the printer is inactive, if it weren't for the printer spitting out paper I would believe them. What is the point of having a print manager that does not manage the printer?? Gr. After reading the cd-burning howto's (which were a bit general and generally unhelpful) I have burned a few more coasters. I have used gtoaster and xcdroast and all runs perfectly until the very end. When I put the cd into a reading device, thereis no data but the cd has been fixed! What on earth is going on. [newbie] segmentation error on shut down
Hi. I have a problem that was mentioned earlier, my cpu simply crashes when shutting down, giving me a segmentation error and a lot of code. The earlier mail in questionsaid to go to http:\\nlpagan.net/linux.htm for a fix The fix was to go to etc/rc.0/init.d/halt find the last line whcih should read (eval $command -i -d -p) and change it to (eval $command -i -d ) I went to the file in question and it read HALTARGS=-i -d -p if [ -f /halt ]; then HALTARGS=-i -d fi eval $command $HALTARGS So I changed the line (HALTARGS=-i -d -p) to (HALTARGS=-i -d) in hopes this might do the same thing. It didn't work and the computer hangs on shutdown quicker than before and will not restart either. Now after all this my problem is that when I went back to change it to its original state the new problem didnt go away.
