If so press it. derek Yep , and of course if you click it comes up, but that doesn't get rid of it either, because if you cancell the app on the little | X | it merely returns to the tray, but wait a minute , the little | X | may not rid me of it but the funny little sqared symbol button box does. So what that is saying is that the normal | X | in the top righthand corner which we normally use as a sortcut to cancellation isn't working as a cancellation tab at all, but has been rewired to click the app into the tray. Yep, like so, [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# kscd kscd is already running! [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# ps -aef | grep kscd root 8556 1 0 15:11 ?00:00:00 kscd root 8610 8562 0 15:12 pts/200:00:00 grep kscd [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# kill -9 8556 [EMAIL PROTECTED] root]# Seems OK to me, but I now know that the real problem was that the GUI of kscd has a top righthand corner |X| which used to be a shortcut to cancel the app is now a click to close the gui but place an icon in the taskbar tray, nothing wrong with that, but it used to be for closing the app and so we now have a | doublesquare | and a | X | top righthand corner neither of which cancells, both both close the GUI, but one puts it into the taskbar window bit, the other in the taskbar tray. To close the app I must click the button box marked with a squiggly square instead. That's fine by me, now that I know, got me fooled for a while. John Tony S.
