[nysbirds-l] Sandwich Tern on Staten Island, ++
Good evening all, Apologies for the delay on this forum, but this morning, Steve & Josette Bonamo found a Sandwich Tern off of the coast of Conference House Park on Staten Island’s south shore. The bird frequents a series of breakwaters off of the beach for roosting, and was routinely returning to these breakwaters after foraging bouts throughout the morning and into the early afternoon before heavy rain moved in. As a side note, there has also been a substantial number of Brown Pelicans that have been utilizing these breakwaters for roosting as well. For those interested, this area can be accessed at the following pin: https://maps.apple.com/?ll=40.496322,-74.247146=My%20Location&_ext=EiYpgAgWLHo/REAxZutt93uQUsA5Vx2Dbt5AREBBrk2+NCCPUsBQAw%3D%3D=m Good birding!
