2019-11-14 Thread Shen Tao
Dear Catherine,

I’ve already contact Xin Jin by phone and he said that he is no longer
involved in community work.

But for some reason he could not reply to my email to clarify.

Best regards,

Tao

Good morning Tao,

My apologies for the delayed response.

I have reviewed your request.

Looking at the following wiki page, I have noticed that Amichai, Xin Jin are
also committers but did not vote.

Are they still contributing to your projects? I do not think Amichai does
but what about Xin Jin?

If Xin Jin is still an active committer then can you ask Xin Jin to vote?

Many thanks & regards

答复: [onap-tsc] URGENT - ONAP Frankfurt - CALL FOR SUPPORT - WE NEED YOU

2019-11-14 Thread Shen Tao
Dear Catherine,

Thank you a lot for helping UUI in Frankfurt release planning.

Sorry that I didn’t realize that I should write “TSC MUST HAVE” into
release planning and used old M1 template.

I have updated UUI release planning and created 4 jira tickets for “TSC
MUST HAVE” to solve the M1 pending issues.

And added jira links to the release planning of UUI use case which is going
to support in Frankfurt release.

I believe that we have had an in-depth discussion on 5G slicing use case and
have prepared enough resources to develop this feature.

Best regards,

We need to create a new repository in the CCSDK project (ccsdk/oom) to contain
our helm charts.

These helm charts today are stored in oom/kubernetes/cds (for CDS) and
oom/Kubernetes/common (for dgbuilder). All projects have been asked to move
charts out of OOM into their own repos, so that’s the need for this new
repository.

This new repo will have the same committers as the ccsdk/cds repository.

I see that there are notes for TSC Ranking, M1 scorecard and Architecture to

But I didn’t find any note for the Red cells and I have no idea what does this
mean.
Could anyone help to clarify what does the red cell mean?

Re: [onap-tsc] E2E network slicing use case status

2019-11-14 Thread Catherine LEFEVRE
Good evening LingMeng,

My apologies for the delayed response.
TSC Priority “RANK #3” means “These requirements/use cases should only be
considered if the impacted PTL(s) believe they have enough bandwidth with their
committers to review and merge the code associated to these new use
cases/requirements. If they cannot consider them, then the Use Case/requirement
Owner can pursue them as a POC based on the POC definition:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/POC+definition; Otherwise, the use
case/requirement will be descoped from the Frankfurt release.”
For additional information, please refer to
https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-tsc/message/5545

In the context of “E2E Network Slicing”, ExtAPI and SO were the two components
approved by the ONAP Architecture at the time the TSC provided the Frankfurt
prioritization.
Currently SO committed to this use case but ExtAPI did not - lack of resource.

activation/deactivation, KPI monitoring.
We’ve already mentioned that some modules might be stretch goal as some of the
work to supporting these functions are still under the discussion with the PTLs.
I saw that you’ve given this use case a RANK #3,
Just to confirm with you, does that mean the impacted modules could be included
in Frankfurt if we get the permission of the PTL even after M1?

Best,
Lin

Looking at the following wiki page, I have noticed that Amichai, Xin Jin are

If Xin Jin is still an active committer then can you ask Xin Jin to vote?

Many thanks & regards

2019-11-14 Thread Shankar Narayanan
Hi Catherine,

Thank you so much for helping OOF with the request for resources !

We have now received commitment for the python 3 migration activity for the
repos that we needed to move to python 3. Also, on investigation, we found
that the issue with code-coverage is not really a drop in the coverage for
the repository, but due to SONAR job failing due to incompatibility with
python 3. Once we migrate to python3, we should be back to the target of >
55% for all repos like we were in El Alto.

I believe these would address the pending issues we had for OOF to pass
milestone M1.

Thanks again, to you and TSC for helping us out !

Thanks,
Shankar.

Re: [onap-tsc] Zoom Recording Retention Policy

2019-11-14 Thread Swaminathan via Lists.Onap.Org
Hi Kenny, All,

The suggestion is reasonable, however, I have 1 comment: sometimes in the
weekly calls, demos of specific components' functionality, or use case demos
are also shown. In my view, they should be retained for much longer (forever?).

Perhaps we should also find a good mechanism of providing easy-to-find
reference/links so that community folks can better benefit from such recordings.

Swami.

Hello,

I would like to understand first
1) What's the current cost and what is the savings potential e.g. if we
implement policy along the lines outlined below.
2) What's the volume split between projects/TSC & SubCs/DDFs.
3) Assuming the TSC & SubC meeting recordings and DDF recordings constitute
minority, I have inclination to keep them longer (e.g. indefinitely to start
with).
4) Project recordings to stay there for the full release. I guess that would in
practice mean 6 moths + small delta.

cheers

Hello TSC,

One of the areas that has been identified as an area to save costs in on the
storage associated with our Zoom recordings.
Currently there is no set policy so everything stays around forever. That
probably doesn't make much sense; it is unlikely someone will go back and
listening to a meeting on Casablanca topics for example.

I'd like to propose the following policy framework for Zoom recording retention:

  *   Project meetings: 6 months
  * TSC and Subcommittee meetings: 9 months
  *   Developer Forums: 12 months

Thoughts?

Thanks!

[onap-tsc] Milestone Exception Process Timing Vote - Ends Wed., Nov 20 @ noon Pacific

(bcc' to onap-tsc for visibility)

As evidenced by today's call the Milestone Exception Process (
https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-tsc-vote/topic/40467217#1262 ) approved by the
TSC last week (https://lists.onap.org/g/onap-tsc/message/5592) is certainly
needed. My recommendation to the TSC when the process was approved was to
make it effective beginning with Frankfurt M2. I didn't see any follow-ups
to that suggestion, so I am initiating a vote:

VOTE: Does the TSC approve implementing the Milestone Exception Process
beginning with Frankfurt M2?

+1, 0, -1

Thanks!

Re: [onap-tsc] Zoom Recording Retention Policy

2019-11-14 Thread Kenny Paul
Good discussion here. I probably didn't provide sufficient background when I
started the thread. The whole topic of recording storage originated following
an OPNFV TSC meeting. Their TSC was asked (by Jim Baker) about recording their
meetings like we do here. One of the big objections raised against doing so
was the high cost of storage. The cost certainly isn't "high", but it is also
non-zero and of course growing. Asking LFN projects to look at a retention
policy for recordings was a logical response to that.

A couple of other points that I was going to bring up in the TSC meeting today.
- The storage we use should already be in tiered AWS, so I think that is
probably covered.

- Regarding the amount of storage ONAP has tied up with .mp4s, I dunno. Jess
has a standing meeting today where the topic is being discussed.

- Doing much in the way of analysis beyond #TB in use @$$ per TB would not be a
good use of anyone's time, neither would having to change a gazillion links to
new locations.

- If a retention policy is desired by y'all, tying it to release cycles rather
than a set time-based deletion does make better sense than what I originally
suggested.

Hope that helps frame it up better. :-)

Hi All.

AWS Glacier deep Archive is definitely an option that can be more cost
effective.

However, if we decide to delete or to use cheap archive, I would assume we
would still need to update all the links on all the wiki pages that reference a
specific recording or large file. Otherwise we would end up with broken links
and we would lose any reference to the original file; Any archive, cheap or
otherwise, would be of no use unless we put plans in place to also create 301
redirects for all files we plan to archive

Hi,

One more suggestion if I may -
Whatever the community decides for retention period, it is best to use long
term (cheap) archiving for the old recordings, instead of just purging them.
Something like AWS Glacier that is $1/TB:

I support Timo's point of view. In general I believe that we should bind
the recording lifecycle to ONAP release cadence not the absolute time.

I do not know if you have got any feedback from Xihui but due to the
criticality of the request, the ONAP TSC approves it.

Best regards
Catherine

Hi,

I created a new one in order to get a repository to host the code of a RAN
simulator.

@lin, I was not able to find you on LF system to share the 2 tickets with you.

Could you give your green light for the creation of these 2 new repositories.

Thanks and regards

Morgan

Subject: [onap-tsc] Integration committer removal

Hi TSC,

I would like to notify that I have updated the INFO.yaml of the repositories
- integration
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/integration/+/97688)
- integration/csit
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/integration/csit/+/97687)
- testsuite
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/testsuite/+/97759)
- testsuite-heatbridge
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/testsuite/heatbridge/+/97760)
- testsuite-python-testing-utils
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/testsuite/python-testing-utils/+/97761)
- demo
(https://gerrit.onap.org/r/c/demo/+/97698)

Some people indicated they have moved to other activities, some were inactive
for more than 4 quarters (according to git statistics).

Moreover integration/devtool and integration/benchmarking have been archived as
they were not used/maintained for at least 2 releases.

Regards

/Morgan
