[openmeetings-user] Re: Need to know bandwidth of server during meeting

2011-10-20 Thread Sebastian Wagner
Hi Nagesh,

you can calc the needed bandwidth based on the streams:

Audio+Video = 70KByte/sec per stream
Screensharing=90 KByte/sec per stream

you will not be able to configure that, you will need to edit the client

Even better for you would be if you could make that thing an option and
create a patch that goes into the public source code.
Otherwise you will need to do this modification for every version of
openmeetings.

first of all you should copy the openmeetings server way from your download
directory into C:\ and take it from there.

Second you should make sure that all variables are in your %PATH% variable
of windows reachable.

So open a CMD and type:
gs
convert
pdf2wsf
ffmpeg
sox

if any of those fails, you know where to look at.

and also check if your OpenOffice Service is running for document importing

[openmeetings-user] Re: Is Joomla plugin a joke?

2011-02-23 Thread Sebastian Wagner
Hi TempMail,

the Joomla Plugin was developed by us and we did also made the demo videos
and put them up.

Actually the Joomla Plugin has 4-5 Modules and Plugins, we do not Open
Source them because actually any website is kind of different and needs a
customized version of those plugins. After all TempMail, we almost give away
anything for free, if there are some components that we developed without
*immediatelly* publishing all and everything so that anybody can copy and
paste for free, I don't think that there is a reason for harsh critisism. I
guess I never have reject people to help if they run into Issues with coding
but of course at some point you have to put some time and effort into it to
get it done.

their might be just an issue with the possible seeking points, those

Re: Is there anyway to control or limit the bandwidth?

2010-10-29 Thread Sebastian Wagner
Hi Hien,

you have some settings in the config.xml. However that will apply to
all users in system-wide.
Also the bandwidth needed is highly connected to the width and height
of the video-camera stream that you publish.
And each user can change that individually.

From Server Side there might be some settings too, but it is quite
inefficient if as long as you have so many opts as client to influence
that.

 users cannot login. In the database every user have a new id, so our
 previous sequece of ids is like: 1, 2, 3 ...
 This is in the users table.

 But in the other we have old ids as well as the newest ones (for
 example table organisation_users).

 There aren't any problems with reading XML files, but somehow it this
 method us.setUser_id doesn't work.

 It is very important problem for us, because we are not able to update
 our outdated version...

Re: Video screen size and delay/choppiness

2010-09-28 Thread Sebastian Wagner
If you resize the video you should push the re-synchronize button in
the video pod of the user who is sharing itswebcam to publish the
stream with higher quality. The quality of the video is always optimal
for the size of the video pod you publish it. If you enlarge it much
bigger you should re-publish the stream.

 attenpting to use openmeeting for face to face conversations and I
 need the video screen sized pretty large. Are there any settings
 inside openmeetings to help with this? I am using dual core 3.2 ghz

 a workstation resource issue.

I don't know if the port-tester needs any special webapp. I have

But I have configured various projects running in the same red5

Or you goto the Room-Administration:
There is a checkbox on the bottom in the section *Room termination settings*

 they will be redirected in 4 sec.

 How do we re-instate that meeting room? I cannot see any admin tools
 to do that, so I assume we need to change a setting in the DB for that
 meeting/delete the meeting? If we need to change a setting in the DB …
 which?

Re: Assigning a moderator

2010-09-15 Thread Sebastian Wagner
Sorry Abraham,

but from my point of view all listings here are wrong.
At least if you are using the latest Version...

The method signature is:

Long roomtypes_id ,
String comment, Long numberOfPartizipants,
Boolean ispublic,

If you simply count the params you'll already see that none of your examples
fit into the method signature.

 does appear, and, it works like a charm!

 In the SOAP documentation it says:
 Boolean isModeratedRoom Users have to wait untill a Moderator
 arrives. Use the becomeModerator param in
 setUserObjectAndGenerateRoomHash to set a user as default Moderator

 So I set that to true and in when I called
 setUserObjectAndGenerateRoomHash I set becomeModeratorAsInt to 1.

 I assumed this would make this user a moderator. Unfortunately it
 didn't.

no sorry this ain't possible to configure. Someone would need to implement
this option first. You might want to open a ticket in the Issue tracker:

 Dear Sebastian,

 Thank you for your patience, It seems like Red5 tends to listen
 everything on port 5080 and it should not be a problem.

 But could you please help me with the next one: I am running Red Hat
 6.2 on the server, I have mysql there and installed openjdk via yum
 recently. My Red5 throws an exeption (I have found it in the error log
 file)

 com.mysql.jdbc.exceptions.jdbc4.MySQLNonTransientConnectionException:
 Could not create connection to database server

 I have checked hibernate.cfg.xml - it is okay, all credentials are on
 its place. I have tried to use mysql from the console with these
 credentials and it works perfectly but Red5 is unable to connect to
 mysql with them. Could that be a Java error, maybe I have installed
 wrong package? The interface throws an error
 NetConnection.connect.failed while trying
 rtmpt://educateouryouth.com:8088/openmeetings/hibernate . What could
 be the problem? Did everything what Installation notes told me to do

 Much appreciated for your time and help!

Hi Evgeniy,

there are two ways to bind Red5 behind Apache.
One is using mod_jk the other one is using mod_proxy.
(Or you use both of them).

However it is some time ago that I have configured mod_jk. Also I think
there was a mod_jk2 version. You need to enable something on the Red5
(Tomcat) side too to make it work. But I think you will only be able to
handle HTTP requests through that, RTMP and RTMPT won't work.

Sebastian

 I've found notes saying that I need Red5 in either way.

 Could please someone advise on how to manage Red5 to work under Apache
 \Tomcat and configure Red5 to be accessible via web?

 Thanks in advance

 Evgeniy

Hi Jazz,

there must be some other kind of Issue with the Reminder, try to use iCal or
and repeat it.
The User-Level actually has nothing to do with the problem.

 Running openmeetings rc1.4 on opensuse 11.3

 I created a user and gave him moderator access. He is trying to
 schedule a meeting for later this evening, but when he goes to save
 the meeting, the server gives errors like this:

 DEBUG 09-08 11:20:54.921 AppointmentLogic.java 1804358 348
 org.openmeetings.app.data.calendar.management.AppointmentLogic

 And his openmeetings window effectively becomes non-responsive.

 I, as an administrator account, can schedule meetings w/o a problem.

 Any ideas?

Without beeing able to execute commands on the Server this is almost
impossible.
How do you start openmeetings or the open-office service it all if you
cannot execute any commands?

 Dear Sebastian,

 Thank you for your reply.

 The hosting support team refuses to give me remote access or the
 ability to execute commands, so I have access to my webroot only, the
 server is Tomcat\Apache with mod_jk as mentioned above. Could you
 please tell me if it is possible to install openmeetings under these
 circumstances or having access to the server's system is mandatory?
 Maybe someone has any experience with installing openmeetings on some
 hosting or I should have a serv?

 O would appreciate any thoughts

 Thank you

Re: Problem after updated to 1.4 RC1

You need to re-import all labels into a fresh database.
Just copying the old hibernate.cfg.xml will not work.

In later Version OpenMeetings contains a Backup and Import function.

2010/9/6 Avi Block atbl...@gmail.com

 We had a running instance of OpenMeetings that we installed a year
 ago. We had some issues then, but now we decided to give it another
 shot.
 I downloaded 1.4 RC1, and copied the hibernate config file over from
 the old installation. When I navigate to http://host:5080/openmeetings,
 I see it tries to connect to rtmpt://host:8088/openmeetings/hibernate,
 but gets stuck over there.
 The old installation still works fine though. That seems to be
 connecting to rtmpt://host:1935/openmeetings/hibernate though.

 I have played around with openmeetings demo and co-browsing. I see
 that all other users only see the url that is in the address box. It
 would be nice for all users to see the moderator's mouse and where s/
 he is clicking on the co-browsing web page and what is clicked is
 followed. Also to have a checkbox for the moderator for all users to

Re: Openmeetings LDAP Connection with Openldap Server

2010-09-04 Thread Sebastian Wagner
Hi Josh,

from my point of view the file you've linked to is 1:1 the same as in the
SVN.

You can browse the SVN and see the differences to each version to check what
we have done here:
http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/source/browse/trunk/singlewebapp/src/app/org/openmeetings/app/ldap/LdapLoginManagement.java

On the top there are buttons to go back in history and also to see the
Diff's.

http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/source/list?path=/trunk/singlewebapp/src/app/org/openmeetings/app/ldap/LdapLoginManagement.javastart=3317

The patch you've linked to should be commited with r2743 r2748 and there was
a later patch in r3246:
http://code.google.com/p/openmeetings/source/detail?r=3246path=/trunk/singlewebapp/src/app/org/openmeetings/app/ldap/LdapLoginManagement.java#

In r3246 there is some interesting comment, that seems to be exactly the
problem you are refering to.

Sebastian

 Was there ever resolution on the OpenLDAP integration issue? Did the
 fixes get migrated into SVN?

 I am running the current RC candidate, and have exactly the same
 problem documented by many others in this space. See the URL below
 which is a long thread documenting various problems. When connecting
 via
 LDAP, valid username/random password works, as long as auth type is
 NONE and not SIMPLE. With SIMPLE, I only get a collection of errors.

 I'd like to have this working, but the email chain seems to indicate
 there are patches floating around that are unapplied.

 If the fixes have not been put into SVN yet, can someone send me a set
 of instructions and files to patch against my pre-built OM install?

 Cheers,
 -j

Re: Not showing Copy Paste info when getting access to others screen

2010-09-04 Thread Sebastian Wagner
I will add this in some future version. But I don't see high priority
in it, besides from the *do not show again* checkbox this Message can
only be seen be users that have actually remote control enabled. But a
usual participant of a meeting is neither moderator nor has the Remote
Control enabled, so he will not even see this window.

Re: User image

2010-09-01 Thread Sebastian Wagner
Hallo Bicho,

re-connecting users just to re-fresh their Avatar-Image is not a good idea.

You have to go through the LZX Source Code and look for the places where the
images are shown, register those objects to a list and then you send a event
to all items on the list to do a certain action.

This is called *observer-pattern*
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observer_pattern

A sample code would look like that:

canvas

attribute name=observerList value=null /

method name=register args=refObj
  if (this.observerList == null) {
this.observerList = new Array();
  }
 this.observerList.push(refObj);
/method

method name=unregister args=refObj
  ![CDATA[
  for (var i=0;ithis.observerList.length;i++) {
if (this.observerList[i] == refObj) {
  this.observerList.splice(i,1);
  break;
}
  }
  ]]
/method

method name=sendUpdateToAllImages
  ![CDATA[
  for (var i=0;ithis.observerList.length;i++) {
this.observerList[i].reloadSource();
  }
  ]]
/method

class name=myImage extends=image
  handler name=oninit
   canvas.register(this);
  /handler
  handler name=onload
if ($debug) Debug.write(Image Re- or Loaded);
  /handler
  handler name=removeItem
   canvas.unregister(this);
  /handler
  method name=reloadSource
this.setAttribute(src,this.src);
  /method
/class

simplelayout axis=y /
myImage name=myImage1 src=

myImage name=myImage2 src=

Re: 1.4rc1 - function to close room ?

2010-09-01 Thread Sebastian Wagner
No Cucu,

that is the actuall effect of that method. The Methode is not to keep others
outside while you are in, it is for permanent closing a room.

You can re-open it in the Room-Administration as well as setting the
redirect-URL.

Sebastian

2010/8/31 cucu ququ...@googlemail.com

 Hello,

 I installed 1.4rc1 and from inside a meeting room, from the menu I
 tried close webinar
 It kick you out of the room and you cannot go in again. the redirect
 page is an error as well.
 I suppose that if you are in, you could stay in?
 In fact nobody can use that room anymore..

 am I missing something?

 thank you
 cheers
