shj price differ kalau laptop# oleh kerana kita geng komuniti linux (yang
lebih terhormat) kita ambil double rm60t (sambil membeli leh beramal-konsep
saja). untuk some basic basic stuff linux installer. the price will go up if
customer demanding especially yang nak-nak (tak mahu lepaskan) jugak2
winbdows depa. maksud aku depa nak dual booting maksud aku kita terpaksa
install kan winbdows tu sebab itu kerja kotor so kena ambil duit lebih lagi
untuk cuci ballik tangan kita. hahahha

and why we need to bash windows? I'm not being bias but the one who we do
need to endores id the one who want choice, and freedom..kalau dah tak nak,

Such Installfest is good. But I personally don't have enough time to spend
for hanging around, waiting to meet new linux user who have that effort to
come to such place just to solve their linux problem.

I would like to suggest to those who are 'rajin' enough and have a lot of
time for community, please do join us on IRC. We have #osdc.my #ubuntu-my
#fedora-my #kostem.my under irc.freenode.net to hang around every day at
your own place on your own sweet time. Those newbies can come on this
channels and ask newbies questions. All of us can help them in real time and
make our community active and alive.

If you don't know how to join us on IRC, just install any IRC client like
xchat or irssi or even mIRC (in windows), connect to irc.freenode.net server
and join our community channels. Park your nick and wait for those newbies
to come. You can also invite them to come there too. It's easy right?

im lack of members here
my 'kampung' is at Ipoh
i only have frens through this community and my polythecnic class
im currently in last sem waiting for final exam
thats why i didnt mind to go any event that OSDC or any community created
this one of my big problem, lack of members
but if hackerspace want to create an event, i can commit to it unless clash
from my personal life

about the roadshow, this Jerantut Event is kindly similar to roadshow?
that will be one of my first event towards larger exposure to OSS and
organization related to it

Swee Meng has prepare a online form to organised activities with
hackerspaceKL. Lets we start it. You can propose time and date and get
the place and we will support by promoting it. You can get your
friends to come bring along notebooks and we will help on that.

Garfield,

We can go for roadshow with any government agencies that doing road

And we at hackerspacekl really appreciate the help we get from the fund.

BTW install fest is best done
1) On a large area, everybody will bring their computer,
2) On a place with genuine interest,
3) With a crew that is very patient, because they will ask all sort of
question that will annoy a lot of linux veteran,
4) Willing to walk someone through installation
5) High technical specialty, some user might be interested to install
something for their business

This assumes that we have large user coming to install linux.

Generally I think linux is easy enough to not have a install fest, but then
I used linux long enough that I know the quirk and forget what is hard or
easy.

Oh yeah might need a place for tutorial session or workshop on best setup of
server etc.

Also it is easy to think big, and forget the ground work that is needed.
