I want to be able to record my 4 track talking books to digital format. '
I want to try to achieve the best sound I can. I had access to a tascam
Porta Studio which had 3 sppeed and 4 tracks. I don't have access to this
machine now. Can anyone suggest a good quality 4 track 2 speed player I
can hook up to my sound card or through my amp. It appears that such a
machine is hard to get now with the demise of tapes.

I run my transmiter and speakers at the same time on the computer with a 3.5
stereo male plug to two 3.5 female jack adapter. they can be bought from Radio

adding to playlists with Media 9 or 10

2004-12-26 Thread ptusing
Hi,
Not sure on which list the question was asked but not yet answered so I will
try.

Although I think Media Player 10 is easier to use, to add a radio station
to your Library,
find the station.
Hit
alt f.
Arrow down to "Add to Media Library" and
 pres
Enter.
s
Another list of options opens up and go down to
"Add to current playing Playlist" and
press Enter.

You will see a "save as" box and the item there is labelled "playlist 1"
which is vague.
So give it the call letters ofthe station and country if you use foreign
language stations and tab to "save"
and press Enter.
Hopethis helps and Happy New Year.

Veronica broken

2004-12-26 Thread Andy Logue

Hi all.

I dropped my new Veronica onto the floor and now the volume seems much less
and there is a lot of interference. When I press C for pause in Winamp, the
hiss which comes through the speakers would put you off using the device.
Does anyone know what's happened, can I adjust the settings or have I broken
it? Finally, wishing all a nice and peaceful festive holiday.

Best Wishes.

I have a C crane FM transmitter and I put a y connector into my soundcard so
that the speaker system is plugged into one side while the FM transmitter is
plugged into the other. It works well. The y connector should have a male
stereo plug going into the speaker jack of your soundcard and two female
connectors into which you plug the transmitter and the speaker system. All
need to be stereo. Hope this helps.

Thanks Tom,
That is kind of what I was thinking too. That I may need a new card so I'll
have two outs from it. I want my cake and eat it too. I want to listen away
from my computer and I want to still be able to hear it in the room with it.
Picky, huh! I know that if I put head phones in the ear phone jack the
speakers don't transmit sound anymore. That is what I think will happen with
this unless it is different from a set of head phones. I may just have to
wait and call them tomorrow.

Thanks again.

Monitoring Recording through External Sound Card

2004-12-26 Thread Jerry Berrier
Hi all,

I want to be able to record via a preamp through my external sound card on
my hP Pavilion t3000 laptop, and I want to be able to hear it while I'm
recording.

If I use a microphone and no external sound card, I can unmute the mic on
the output side in Volume control, and I can then monitor my recording.
However, I want to be able to record in stereo, so I purchased a

USBW-USB510

 sound card from usb-ware.com.
It came with a funky little audio program on a 3.5 inch disk, but it does
not seem to have a facility for listening to what's being recorded.

Does anyone know of a generic volume control program that might do what I am
seeking to do?
Again, my goal is to record in stereo and be able to monitor while I'm
recording.

Thanks.

Re: Power Screw On C-crane FM Transmitter?

2004-12-26 Thread shannon work
Thanks for the link. That is the one!!
I was reading the description and it says that you can either plug it in to
the line out of the sound card or into the ear phone jack on the speakers.
This may sound silly but if you plug it into the earphone jack on the
speakers will the speakers stop playing the sound?
If that is the case one would rather use the line out of the sound card
right?. Now for the other silly question. I have speakers hooked up now.
Where are they plugged into? I know that sounds silly but am I already using
the out line of the sound card with the speakers? I think this is a one
channel out put sound card so I am thinking that there will be only one
place for this line out. Am I right or wrong? If I am right is there a
splitter I can buy or am I going to have to get a new sound card? If I have
to get a new sound card how hard are they to install?
Sorry for all the questions. Thanks again, for all the help.

Shannon: The product that you're most likely looking for is an FM
transmitter; I'm not sure of the exact name. But they can be gotten from
the C-Crane company. You'd think that..as many times as I've heard their
phone number..that I'd know it by heart! But alas..I can't think of it
right at the moment! I'm sure that there are many on the list that do know
it..and will point you in the right direction! I, myself, found one of
those..as you called it, "do-dads" under my tree; I'm just hoping I can
locate that place in the back of my computer where it's supposed to go!
