Removing a file

2005-03-06 Thread Andrew Shipp
Hello all, Please could someone help me out here, I was using Nero
Express to burn CD with Now because I couldn't get on with the program I
uninstalled it, and installed Roxio v6 which I find easy to use. The
problem I have now is that Nero seems to of left a file on the system and I
have tried every thing I can think of to remove it and I cannot do it. The
file that is left is called INCD, Please could someone tell me what else I
could possibly try to find this and remove it? If this cannot be done then
the next option is to format the hard drive again.

InCD is a Nero accessory for making rewriteable CDs behave just like a big
floppy had this software on my PC and removed it from the
Start/settings/addor remove buttons. If this does not work for you I would
try first going to the system tray and right clicking on its icon and
selecting disable or close whatever is indicated. Once it is disabled, you
should be able to uninstall it in the usual manner. Alternatively, right
click on start menu, go to explore, select programs, select startup and you
should find it. If you do, delete it, reboot your PC and you should be able
to uninstall is in the usual way.

Hope this works,

Ron.

If InCD isn't in the system tray and it doesn't in the startup folder then
the only other alternative is to delete it from the Registry (where angels
fear to tread!) If you have a tame sighted technician get him to find and
delete all items in the registry with ahead, nero and InCD. I have resorted
to this in the past when a program has stubbornly refused to uninstall; a
frightening experience!

That's about it.

2005-03-06 Thread Susan Wojtecki
Kevin,
Thank you, I didn't remember that problem the first time, but I seemed to be
having one of those days on Thursday, lol. When I get my copy of JAWS 6.0
I'll try again ... there are definitely things where it reads better and
it's probably a combination of things going on when that kind of problem
comes up. There's still a lot about Nero that I don't know, but at least
all my discs have burned successfully so far, which is something. Thanks
for the encouragement, as I am planning on backing up more stuff in the next
few days.

Hello Ron, Yes I know this one, But where the INCD still comes up is in
the file dropdown menu, Like if I am in My documents and want to put a
folder on a cd, then I do ALT F, for file and arrow down to send to and the
second option is INCD, I have checked the system that much I think I know
more about my computer than I've ever known. I just cannot remove it from
the dropdown menu if I could do this then I would be very happy.

Sun Sparkle! If you were recording a talking book from a standard NLS
machine then you would record in mono and not in stereo. The only reason to
record in stereo would be if you were recording from a commercial tape
player and were trying to speed this whole process up by recording two
tracks at a time instead of one. When you play back a recording that was
recorded in mono then the sound will come out of both speakers.

Re: ripping four track tapes to mp3 format

2005-03-06 Thread mimi
No. You must use the line-in jack. You
can use a stereo-to-mono adapter on the
plug. I get better results from having
the NLS tape player connected to a
receiver and amplify the signal strength
from the player to the sound card. It
even makes the books sound better as
well. I do everything in real time.
I'm in no big hurry. When I get those
projects done, I get them done in good
time. Another reason I do it in real
time is because sometimes a tape will be
defective, and I want to be able to
catch it as it comes up. I also like to
divide extra-long segments into
comfortable ones where I don't have to
listen to it in its original length,
meaning that if a passage is quite long,
I will put the letter A, B, C, after my
designated I D. When I play the book on
another machine, it plays correctly with
the numbered and lettered segments. The
mic jack is not meant for line-in
recording. Everyone else uses line-in
on their sound cards.

Hello all, Please could someone help me out here, I was using Nero
Express to burn CD with Now because I couldn't get on with the program I
uninstalled it, and installed Roxio v6 which I find easy to use. The
problem I have now is that Nero seems to of left a file on the system and
I
have tried every thing I can think of to remove it and I cannot do it.
The
file that is left is called INCD, Please could someone tell me what else
I
could possibly try to find this and remove it? If this cannot be done
then
the next option is to format the hard drive again.

Re: Removing a file

2005-03-06 Thread Andrew Shipp
Yes I understand that but what I'm saying is that I have uninstalled Nero
express and this file is still on the system and I cannot find any more
files or folders or any more parts of the program on the system so What
I'm asking is how do I remove this file that is left on the computer INCD,
whilst this is on the system Roxio will not run properly.

andrew in cd is a program for formating cds it is a program not just one
file.
it is part of the nero pakage. so there is no need in reformating the hard

2005-03-06 Thread Marty Rimpau
Hi, I have the sqr cross fader 1.65, just wanted to know how to disable
that curve fade thing in version 1.75? I didn't care for it, and I
even tried setting it to the lowest it could go, something like 33 of
300, and still, it was there, just wished I could disable it, because,
I thought that version 1.75 didn't seem to use as much memory as
version 1.65, and this version doesn't have that curve fade thing in
it.

Re: Is CD Architect accessible?

2005-03-06 Thread Jerry Richer
Matthew Sound Forge 8.0 is due out this month, March. The CD Architect
that is out now is reported to be accessible. It looks like we won't know
about the one that's bundled with Sound Forge 8.0 until it comes out.
In order to eliminate the silence between your tracks you want to burn
your music CD's using Disk At Once and not Track at Once. Any real Music CD
burning program like CD Architect will have these two options available.

Re: Sound cards

2005-03-06 Thread Jerry Richer
Larry! Just install the second Sound Card per the manufacturers
instructions. When you have that finished go into Control Panel, Sounds and
Audio Devices, Audio and select the audio device from which you would like
to hear your screen readers and computer sounds. As you tab through you
will see three controls to select audio devices. The first is to select the
default audio device that sounds will be played through, the second is to
select the default audio device that sounds will be recorded from and the
third is to select the default MIDI device. Now go into your various other
audio applications and choose what sound card you would like them to use.
What other audio applications do you use?
Please feel free to write or call with questions.

Re: Is CD Architect accessible?

2005-03-06 Thread Matthew Bullis
Right, I'm familiar with disc at once, but sometimes Sound Forge doesn't
adhere strictly to the sector boundaries of the .wav files, so even though
it's not a two-second gap between songs, and even though it's disc at once,
I will get a millisecond of gap due to the .wav files being put back
together and not quite aligning.
Thanks a lot.

Hi all!
I have encountered the same problem with sqr...
what you need for the pop-up to disappear is a registration number
I obtained from a friend a little program that generates such a number but
of course, I cna't pass it on this list (since it's an .exe file)
now i'm saved and it works quite good

Hi Kevin

No - the one I have is specifically spelled Xen and it seems to be some kind
of new MP3 player. What I found out though is that it opens a new drive in
Windows Explorer so it is reasonably easy to transfer files. Still figuring
the player/recorder/radio out though!

Hi Andre.

Sounds like you're talking about the Creative Zen. The Creative players are
very accessible when hooked up to your computer and using notmad explorer to
transfer your music and build playlists. It really depends on how much you
want to do with the player when it's not connected that will determine how
user friendly you find it.

I have a Creative jukebox 2 and tend to build the playlists when it's
connected to my computer and then just start the playlist when I take the
jukebox away so I'm not doing a lot of searching through the loaded files.
Doing this is very straightforward so no real accessibility issues.

I have tried every thing I can think of to remove it and I cannot do it.
The file that is left is called INCD, Please could someone tell me what
else I could possibly try to find this and remove it? If this cannot be
done then the next option is to format the hard drive again.
