I should be able to save the files in mp3 either on the device directly or with the use of a software that is accessible to a certain extent. It would be nice if the recorder had a facility to add SD or MMC Cards but that is not an important criteria. Thanks for any suggestions, Kiran Kaja Code Factory S.L. Re: Converting mp3 to CDA?
hello doc, it was that a friends daughter was having trouble converting mp3 to cda and writing the cd at the same time due to buffer under run errors. she has an old slow external cd writer and probably not a very powerful laptop and we were looking for a method of separating the conversion and burning processes. pete. RE: MP3 versus WMA
Absolutely no question on one aspect of your question: the support for the MP3 format is *vastly* better than that for WMA. The entire Ipod line is a great example of a line of players that *does not* support WMA. Re: Making a play list
the simplest way I found to make a playlist is to make a text file with a word editor and change the extension to an m3u file. you simplly type in the text file where your MP3 files can be found on your computer, that is type the path to the folder and file name. put the path to the mp3 one per line. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Re: Making a play list
The simplest way I have found to make a playlist, if you have WinAmp, justt go to the list of songs, and select the ones you want, and encue them in Winamp. This puts all the necessary imformation in the playlist automatically. Now you can go to the WinAmp folder, and select WinAmp.m3u, copy it place it where you want, and then rename it, leaving the m3u extension. Alternatively, you can just play songs in WinAmp, and it will make a playlist, which you can do with the same as above. Re: mp3's to hi fi
Hi. The basic idea here is to just use one set of cables to do the job, the problem is that the computer and the stereo receiver have to be close enough together to make it work. Actually, an even better solution is to simply buy a surround sound system for your computer. I have one and the sound is supurb. this eliminates the need for hooking it up to your stereo completely, and the sound is a whole lot nicer. Re: Making a play list
You can, in winamp, hit ccontrol l, sellect the folder you want, and press enter. If it's multiple files in multiple folders, just go to them in windows explorer, right click the file, and hit e for enqueue file in winamp. RQJ, That technique used to work for me. but it no longer does. Each time I click on a file, play it, and check the playlist, it has only one entry, the last played track. I suspect I have to change some setting relating to "enqueuing" the files. Do you know what that would be? Thanks. Blessed Be, Dana that's Dayna, D A N A, NOT Donna, D O N N A D. S. Leslie, née C. R. Re: Making a play list
On the other hand, if I forget about playing the tracks, but just browse on my hard drive to each one I want to add to a playlist, and click on enqueue in winamp, they get added to a playlist just fine. I can then save the playlist, and all is well. Seems to me, that would be the easiest way to create a playlist, in any case - not requiring one even to play the tracks, but just to enqueue them. Apparently you need to do a little more research than just reading the book. Philips players are supported by both WMP and Realplayer. Think about it. What are you trying to do. Again I say there is other software that can replace Musicmatch. Re: Nero and problem burning audio cd
Doc, thanks for the suggestion. However, I really don't think that's the problem here. I'm already burning at 16X and I'm using a 3gb CPU, and being from the relatively old school do not use my puter for anything else save moving the WE mouse to the top of the screen to read the status line while burning. Interestingly, (and if anybody wishes to comment on this, please do), I found in the Nero property sheet for making audio cds the option for removing the pause between tracks by just putting a zero where the 2 second pause is indicated, but after doing so, I was presented with a dialog box that said my Lit-on player would still require a 2-3 second pause (maybe 1-3, if I recall correctly) between the first and second track, and would have to have to change some of my settings in order to allow for the recording job to be successful. Now I didn't uncheck the box that removes the silence between tracks after making the change in the pausing, so I don't know if that might have impacted on the recording to my satisfaction. After waiting four cds on the project, I decided to give it a rest . What I think I might try the next time around, making a silent mp3 with total recorder, one of about 10 seconds in duration, and maybe that will satisfy my burner's need to pause between the first and second tracks. Still, I'm not sure if I will ever get an absolutely smooth transition between tracks. It never happened when I was using CDRWin, and I'm beginning to doubt that it will happen with Nero. If anybody has succeeded at this, please be sure and kindly let me know . Thanks much, Larry At 10:19 PM 12/25/2005, you wrote: >I don't know if this is still valid but I do all my audio recording at 8x. >- Original Message - >From: "Larry Higgins" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> >To: >Sent: Sunday, December 25, 2005 7:57 AM >Subject: Nero and problem burning audio cd > > > > Hello everyone, and a merry Christmas. > > > > I am having a problem burning mp3s to an audio cd using Nero 6 Ultra > > Edition. Darn. I forgot to mention after all of this that I am converting mp3 files to CDA for playing on a normal cd player. Maybe now this whole thing will make more since . Sly, If you highlight a file of a type Winamp recognizes, click on the Files menu. Enqueue in Winamp should be the second option down. It should also be the second option down in the context menu that opens if you right click, instead. Blessed Be, Dana that's Dayna, D A N A, NOT Donna, D O N N A D. S. Leslie, née C. R. I tried the control .v. command and winamp says stop after current track is not activated. I cannot figure this out. Is it a winamp thing or a windows x p problem? Any help is much Appreciated!. Shoutcast Releases 1.9.5 of cClient and Server in Single Package
They must have just put this one out, as it's dated the 27th and it's not even the 27th GMT yet! They've introduced a real minimize button with 1.90, I'm very interested in what 1.9.5 has added. They now seem to distribute it as a combined package, very small, easy to install one component or the other by choosing the custom installation option if you want your client and server to be on separate machines. Too many links to pick from to download it, just go to shoutcast.com and search for it there, they give you a number of places to find it, including their own page. ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. WWV frequencies
Hi Folks, I just got the sony 7600GR AM, FM, and shortwave radio for Christmas. What I want to know is, what frequencies does WWV broadcast from. The radio has a scan feature, as well as a keypad to punch in the frequencys. I haven't been able to find WWV on the dial, so if someone could tell me which frequency they are on, I would really appreciate it. Thanks in advance. Re: WWV frequencies
2.5 MHZ in Hawaii. For Colorado, 5, 10 15 and 20 MHZ. For 2.5 punch in 2500 and the left or A.M. enter key.--the key to the left of zero It's been a while since I've used it but you might press the ender key first then your digits and your enter key again. Anyway, the button to the left of zero is the A.M. enter key and the key to the right of zero is the F.M. enter key. NOTE: for the 5, 10 15 and 20 mhz frequencies you do not need to enter 5000, 10,000, 15,000 and 20,000, simply enter 5, 10, 15, 20. The time from this source is not an exact time as there are several seconds delay or even a minute or more by the time the signal reaches your location. - Original Message - From: "Ray Slaton" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: computer mp3's to hi fi
Hi Jerry! Chris mentioned that the best way is to get a surround system for the computer. It's supposed to be better than plugging your surround into the computer. I told Andy that JVC has a USB connection for their surround sound systems and a computer, but I forgot to mention that they said that it was a wireless USB! - Original Message - From: "Jerry Richer" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. logitech USB mic/headset not working?
Hi all! I spent a little of my Christmas cash and bought a Logitech USB headset/mic combo today. When I got it home and plugged it into my USB port, all went correctly, windows saw everything it needed to see and it's being recognized. In the instructions, it says to make sure the headset is your default playback device in windows which, when it's plugged in, it is. When I unplug it, it goes back to my sound card. While it's plugged in to the USB port for some reason, certain sounds come through the headset, and other sounds come through the speakers. for example on a skype call, the person speaking comes through my speakers, but software speech from JAWS and other sounds can be heard on my headset. Not only that, but people tell me that the volume level is very low. I wanted to see if I could track the problem down, so I went into the windows volume control and made sure the mic was checked in playback. it wasn't, so I checked it and the mic level was only at like 19% so I kicked it up to 70% so I could test it. So when I did that, i made a call to echo 123 on Skype and tested it. I couldn't hear myself, which obviously means something is wrong, but I'm not sure what it is. I even made sure that the mic was unmuted in playbackso i'm not sure what the deal is. If anyone has any ideas of how to fix this, I'd very much appreciate it! ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED] This list is a service of MosenExplosion.com. Re: Making a play list
nope, if you're in windows explorer. In other words, when you're just looking at the files in a folder, right click the file, and sellect equeue in. I can then save the playlist, and all is well. Seems to me, that would be the easiest way to create a playlist, in any case - not requiring one even to play the tracks, but just to enqueue them.
