when I spoke to a microsoft worker, he said work was still on going and it was a private beta fix, how ever the fix didn't fix my problem, I had to choose that horrible sounding sam from the drop down box, because he had lost his voice for some strange reason, and all my sapi products wouldn't work unless that was installed. I googled this one to death and finely rang microsoft who wasn't that helpful at all although they did send me the patch but I felt as I was banging me head against a brick wall. I asked why it wasn't up on the site, and he said that only a few machines experienced this problem, and because they couldn't pinpoint the exact problem, it was hard to put the patch out. all my programs are working now, but if I go in to the control panel, I still get that message. RE: winamp playlist question
Hi Brandon. The easiest thing to do is to recreate your playlist in Winamp. You could edit the m3u file with a text editor and do a search and replace of any path that has changed. To me, this is more trouble than it's worth. If you want all the files in a folder to be added, hit SHIFT-L and this will bring up a list of folders from which you can choose the one you want. Re: Easy CD-DA extractor problem
Have you tried launching the program from the executable on your hard drive, bypassing all shortcuts? If that doesn't work, try *completely* uninstalling the program, deleting it from your hard drive, and re-installing it, rather than re-installing over an existing installation. I often find this works with Recalcitrant software, although I've never experienced the problem you're having, with Easy CD-DA Extractor. Re: swapping channels
Hi. Sorry I haven't exactly got an answer to this but are you 100% certain the channels have been swapped? I've ripped over 600 CD's with WMP 10 and haven't come across this. Can you be sure that you don't have a problem in general with playback on your computer? Perhaps you could burn an audio CD and play on another standard CD player to check. Regards. Re: Easy CD-DA extractor problem
I'm afraid that didn't work either. I didn't say so before, but I uninstalled it before getting a fresh download and re-installing. If that doesn't work, try *completely* uninstalling the program, deleting it from your hard drive, and re-installing it, rather than re-installing over an existing installation. I often find this works with Recalcitrant software, although I've never experienced the problem you're having, with Easy CD-DA Extractor. Definitions and Hardware
Hello all, And you think you have heard them all. Maybe I an not using the gray matter under my almost white hair enough, but here goes. Looking at the back of the computer, the line of adapter holes, meaning speaker, microphone, line, etc., is this what is called a sound card? I am using Sound Blaster Live as my audio program. If I unloaded Live, and wanted to put another audio program, lets say Turtle Beach, would I have to a new adapter piece in the back of the computer also, or does the hardware piece stay the same? Is that hardware piece called the sound card? If not, what is it called. I know this a real dumb question on my part, and I am sorry for that. Where might a person get a list of proper terminology for such things as this? Please answer off-list so as to not have too many listers just shaking their heads. Re: swapping channels
Thanks Kevin. Things on the sound card appear to be correct. Left is left and right is right. Panning moves in the right direction. Other media files are not reversed. It just looks like the files I ripped on this machine are switched. I will check them out on another machine before I start processing them. - Original Message - From: "Kevin Minor" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > > I ran into the same problem, and found out that the sound card I had had > its > left and right channels swapped, so I hooked it up backwards and it worked > fine. Re: swapping channels
Does GoldWave have a batch process? I have Sound Forge 7 but I don't know about the batch processor SF is supposed to have. I never used it and am not sure I even have it. I heard that Sony scrapped the old one and came out with a new one for SF 8. I sure wouldn't want to do one file at a time. - Original Message - From: "Bruce Toews" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list.
