Re: PLS Plug in for Windows Media Player
No, but winamp plays them quite nicely and fully accessibly. Why use anything else for this file format? In fact, winamp also plays windows Media files. I now listen to the BBC, CBC and Radio Netherlands only in Winamp thanks to this support. Kelly - Original Message - From: "Milton Ota" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC audio discussion list. Re: Name of Device to record from LP33 to Hard Drive
Hi Judy, the Teak GF-350 is a record player with a CD recorder and analog AM/FM radio built into it. there is no noise reduction at all. the phono cartridge is a ceramic one, not a moving magnet or moving coil cartridge which give much better frequency response than the ceramic. the teak also has a set of auxiliary inputs for recording from analog sources too. myself, it isn't something I would particularly want. you would be better off to buy a turntable and a preamp made for a computer and record records to the hard drive using sound Forge or Goldwave. I don't know if Studio recorder has noise reduction or not! . - Original Message - From: "Judy W" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Importing into Windows Media
Hi I'm currently trying to convert my large list of songs ripped in wav format in Itunes into an MP3 format while holding onto the tags. I can do this in Itunes by converting, but I wondered if I can import these files into Windows Media 11, holding onto the tags. I also wanted to normalise the files (bring them all up to the same level of sound) while I was doing this. I think I did it once before in Windows Media Player but I can't remember how to do this. Any ideas? Thanks. Re: Recording Skype Calls and two Questions about Goldwave
I have found a challenge in testing it in a good way although the site it comes from claims it works for Skype. The reason is that I can't fumble with the audio repeater windows and get a recording started with a call within the real short period of time between when the driver loads and when the word trial starts going down both virtual cables almost simultaneously. I thought it was 2 or 3 minutes from the time the repeater program is loaded, but it seems to be timed from when the sound drivers load up. For $40 or so, one can eliminate that message and it probably will work fine. You really don't want the buffer delay default of 1 second, but that is easily changed. - Original Message - From: "Chris Gilland" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: Desporatly need help with Goldwave
Are you sure that you are at that point in the file when you hit the left bracket key? In other words, if you get to the point to put your start marker, then stop the recording with the space bar, you will return to wherever your start marker origionally was, thus, if you hit the left bracket at that point, you'll be dropping right where it already was. Ideally, what you want to do, is space or f4, your preference, to start playback. When you get to where you want to begin editting, hit f7 to pause, then hit your left bracket to drop your start marker. Then hit the space bar twice to resume playback. I say twice as the first time will take you out of pause nmode and put you in a full stop mode. Once you get to the point where the right bracket should go, hit f7 once again, to pause. now lay your finnish marker down with the right bracket. now hit space twice to play what is between your markers and be certained it sounds ok for what you want to edit. If not use your shift left and shift right to move the start marker to fine tune and your control shift left and control shift right to move the finnish marker to fine tune. Don't forget your zoom ratio may be too big or too small, so depending on how tight your edit needs to be, you may possibly have to hit alt v and to to the view menuy and select a smaller zoom ratio size. One tip is alt+v then the letter e as in echo. This will jump you to the smallest movement zoom ratio. It will only be a frame of a second, but if you really need it to be so pathetically tight it's indescribable, that is one way to do it. Once done, just do your edit as needed, like delete to crop that part out, control t to trim outside your markers, control c to copy, control v to paste, or control p to paste print to a new file, etc. I sincerely hope this helps but if not feel free to call me at: 1-888-346-2666 Extention 2704 I'd be happy to help you further over the phone for a very reasonably small nominal fee that my company charges. And actually right now since it's Christmas, you know what, never mind forget the fee. This call will be on us. Merry Christmas! Please tell me how to determine specifically on which Iriver models the Rockbox software will work. Thanks. Don Roberts - Original Message - From: "Jonathan Mosen" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "'PC audio discussion list. '" Sent: Sunday, December 10, 2006 7:43 PM Subject: RE: Rockbox Question Hi Vicky. To explain this, it may help to think of these MP3 players as small, dedicated computers. They have software burned into them, known as firmware. Rockbox is a replacement firmware for a number of MP3 players. It changes the user interface and offers different features. One of the really attractive features for blind people is that Rockbox will allow you to use pre-recorded spoken prompts to assist you in navigating an MP3 player's menus, settings, and with the write tools even all your file and directory names. If you want to use files from the iTunes Music Store with your iPod though, you'll need to revert to the original firmware, which you can do by holding down a couple of keys at startup. -Original Message- From: VICTORIA VAUGHAN [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Monday, 11 December 2006 3:02 p.m. To: PC audio discussion list. I have a Nano iPod, which does not talk, but I marked it with 4 letters in braille, so I could tell where to press. Would Rockbox merely voice these presses? Does the Rockbox talk while the unit is connected to the computer, to help you work with the music library and downloading songs on to your unit? Thanks for helping me understand this. Re: Rockbox Question
hey well first off you'd fine it much easier to manage the ipod with rockbox as it makes it a umc device, meaning that when it was connected you'd just drag and drop like your moving it to another drive. The menus and the like would be spoken by synthesized wave files tj - Original Message - From: "VICTORIA VAUGHAN" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: "PC audio discussion list. Re: Rockbox Question
Well, I'd be happy to, assuming that I could figure out how to get my IPod to come through my sound card. Right now I don't have a patch cable to use. I'll try to come up with some way though, as I'm stubborn. I don't mind doing a review, not at all, however, let me see how to get this audio issue taken care a first. If I do it, I want it to be the best sound quality it can. On that note, how do I submit something to Main Menu.
