Question about recording in Goldwave
Howdy All, I am pretty new at this, but I have been using a tutorial. I am still in the beginner's portion of the tutorial. I have everything hooked up right, but when I try to record vinyl, using my turn table, I can't figure out how to monitor the sound from the turn table. I did a test recording, and it is recording, but no sound from the speakers. The tutorial doesn't mention anything about how to do that, so I am at a loss as to what to do. I have changed a couple of settings, but still nothing. I hope someone can help. Mark To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Re: Question about recording in Goldwave
I'm going to fail to answer your question with this post. I'm a Goldwave user though I don't record with it, rather I use Total Recorder for the recording and why? Because I can playback what I'm recording on the spot, in other words Time Shifting, like a video recorder or PVR and that means the world to me when recording. And as a footnote to my original message, Total Recorder has an Optimal Recording Level adjustment which I find nice and handy though I don't need to adjust levels all that much here. Hello again, Tom and List, The program you suggested promises to do everything I wanted it to do. I cannot register myself as is required, and thus, the software will that look up any track data. Accessible Internet Radio devices
Hi! Does anyone manage to use a standard Internet type radio device? by that I mean a device which you just purchase from your local Walmart or local electronics Retailer? Obviously the user would have trouble setting the thing up due to the lack of speech or other accessibility but just supposing you had someone set the radio up to match your wi-fi network and they programmed some presets for you, I can't see any reason why you couldn't scroll through those presets up and down as you would with some digitally controlled FM radios which have been readily available for the last quarter of a century, anyone got any views or had any experience with this. I'm looking at buying a stand-alone Internet radio for the kitchen though if I can't get one that won't work at all for a person with no vision then I won't be too worried, Ootunes on the Iphone and Ipad does a damn good job but I don't want to be carrying them around with me everywhere if I can avoid it. I did think about the new Plextalk Pocket which is supposed to have Internet Radio accessible on it however I think it will be quite some time before we see anything out of that company, unfortunately the whole company's location was destroyed in the recent Japan earthquake. Re: Accessible Internet Radio devices
Hi Dane, I have the jjSanyo r227 internet radio which I really like and think it's great. As you say though, it does take a pair of eyes to do any scanning or searching unfortunately. It has only eight presets, but I have eight of my favorite station set in them. It's somewhat limited, but if you pick eight of your favorite ones then it's not so bad. If you get tired of any of the stations you can have a sighted person help you to scan to find some others. I've had it for about a year now and have never regretted buying it. there are a lot of interesting stations out there just for the looking. If you have any questions please email me. RE: express burn help neededplease
Mybe this will help. 1. Hit alt+f to bring up the file menu. The first option will be to select the type of disk you want to create i.e. music, data, etc. Hit enter and enter again. 2. You will be back in the program's main menu. tab down to add files or folder depending upon which you want. If adding files, you will need to repeat the process several times to make sure you've got the tracks you want. 3. Once you've finished adding files or folders tab down and set any options you wish such as normalize of cd track info. 4. tab to the burn button and hit enter. It seems to me that either you hit enter or use the spacebar. One or the other works and the other doesn't. 5. This brings up a menu with number of copies and burn speed. Make your selections and again tab to burn and trigger the button. Assuming you have a disk in the drive it should burn. If you don't already have a disk in the drive, it will prompt you to put a disk and then you'll have to verify the selections. Good luck. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Alan Pollard Sent: Monday, March 28, 2011 1:38 AM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: express burn help neededplease Hi List,as I am unfamiliar with ,express burn after trying to set same up to burn :an Audio cd have done the usual preperation ,ie placed the mp3 files together in a folder moved to the add tab and many other actions without any luck I would be much appreciative if anyone could post a step by step guide or some advise please! Hello Again: Once you have the unit programmed via the PC or iPhone, you can save your stations in the available presets as well as sstore an unlimited number of stations in your favourites. As the setup of the radio is accessible through a web browser, you can then allow only the favourites on your menu screen. The big problem with this radio as that initially, you might require sighted help to set up the network settings. Re: Squeeze Box
Hello: The particular unit that I am referring to is called SqueezeBox Boom. The unit has 6 preset keys as well as other ways of storing stations. It has special plugins for accessing Radio Time, iTunes, and many other radio services. It's main strength is that, for the size of the unit, it has an exceptional sound quality and can be programmed by a Blind user via a PC. If one has an iPhone or iTouch, one can operate the radio with no restrictions. Yep very much, sorry I didn't appreciate the content of your initial message. If one has an iPhone or iTouch, one can operate the radio with no restrictions. Re: recovering cd track information
Joe, press enter on the settings button. Press enter on the user registration info button. This brings up a thank you message. Press enter on the next button. At this point, all Window-Eyes reads is a finish button and it says, disabled. This is because there's a checkbox you have to check to agree to the agreement. I had to use the mouse to read the agreement and check the checkbox with a left mouse click. Then you can press enter on the finish button. Hope this works for you. Tom ** Message From: Joe Giovanelli ** Hello again, Tom and List, The program you suggested promises to do everything I wanted it to do. I cannot register myself as is required, and thus, the software will that look up any track data. I found an e-mail address on the PUCB site and wrote there, asking what I can do but to date have not heard. I'd appreciate your thoughts. Joe G. RE: Question about recording in Goldwave
Mark, I don't know what other responses you've received, but here's my 2 cents. If you have a sound card that includes the line-in as part of your playback controls, you can select the line-in in the playback control section of your Windows volume control. This is different from the one in your recording control part. This one will let you here what is coming into the line-in. It might appear in the form of a checkbox that says mute, which you would uncheck. Make sure that the corresponding sliders are also more than 0. Cubase VS Sonar, as well as voice tuning
Hi all Since other apps are talked about here, I thought I'd ask. Is Cubase or Nuendo at all accessible with Jaws, or are there scripts available that will let you work in 1 of these apps? How does Cubase or Nuendo compare with Sonar? Another important issue, is voice tuning. The studio where I work, use Melodyne to do voice tuning, since it sounds very natural, not as synthetic as some of the autotuners out there. Also, with melodyne it's possible to tune small portions of music, even parts of a single note. I wonder if Melodyne can be accessed at all with Jaws, or is the lay-out too graphical? What good alternative is there to melodyne, if any, something that would enable you to achieve almost the same success as with Melodyne? Thanks for any help, it would be highly appreciated. You would be better off trying to get these questions answered on the Midi Mag list, than here, don't you think? -Mac- - Original Message - From: Quinten Pendle quin...@pendlepro.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, March 28, 2011 11:54 AM Subject: Cubase VS Sonar, as well as voice tuning Hi all Since other apps are talked about here, I thought I'd ask. Hi. These are good questions that I would like to see answered as well, so if someone has those answers or if you subscribe to the Midi Mag list and get them there, I would appreciate if you would forward them to this list, since it's on topic anyway, and subscribing to another hightrafic list is not desirable for me or probably other people too. It has been my experience, in the past, that the Midi Mag list is good for answering such questions and is a list for c Musicians, not just a Midi list, for whatever that is worth. Like I said to Tony, it was only a suggestion. - Original Message - From: Quinten Pendle quin...@pendlepro.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, March 28, 2011 12:31 PM Subject: RE: Cubase VS Sonar, as well as voice tuning I don't necessarily think so, because I'm not gonna use either of these programs for midi at all. -Original Message- From: Mac Norins [mailto:macata...@cox.net] Sent: 28 March 2011 09:18 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Cubase VS Sonar, as well as voice tuning You would be better off trying to get these questions answered on the Midi Mag list, than here, don't you think? -Mac- - Original Message - From: Quinten Pendle quin...@pendlepro.com To: 'PC Audio Discussion List' pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, March 28, 2011 11:54 AM Subject: Cubase VS Sonar, as well as voice tuning Hi all Since other apps are talked about here, I thought I'd ask.
