Spotify versus Last FM

2012-02-11 Thread chris hallsworth
I realize Spotify exists, but accessibility with their client leaves a
lot to be desired, and there is no other alternatives, apart from the
iOS client, which not everybody owns. Last.fm on the other hand is quite
to fully accessible across the board. The web client is quite
accessible, I use a combination of SpeakOn and Rarmaradio as Last FM
clients, both of which are quite to fully accessible depending on client
of choice. I even have the iOS client, and that's quite accessible as well.

Re: sireus radio

2012-02-11 Thread Mike Mote
Randy, as far as Sirius XM radio is concerned, you can listen to it on the
internet, but you have to have a subscription, and sighted assistance, as of
now to access it. I've tried several times to access their on-line player,
with no luck. A couple of years ago, you could access the player with no
problem, but when they upgraded, all of that changed. There are several
friendly user friendly radios out there, so if you like it, you may try and
fbuy one of those.

Re: Spotify versus Last FM

2012-02-11 Thread James Scholes
I am getting sick and tired of people comparing these two services. At its
core, Last.fm is a recommendations engine. It takes note of what you listen to
and then suggests other artists, albums or tracks that you might enjoy. In
that respect, it is similar to Pandora. It is not at all similar to Spotify,
which is a music streaming service first and formost. Yes, you might be able
to listen to music through Last.fm, but can you listen to a band's entire
discography? Can you create a playlist of your favourite country artists or
tracks? No, because that is not what it is designed to do, a point driven home
by the fact that Last.fm streams are only in 128Kbps MP3.

Sorry if this message seems harsh, but comparing the accessibility of two
services which have completely different intended functions is rather
misleading.

I have a question. I have been recording a jazz station but the id3 tag
changes in the beginning of the next song. thus, the beginning, say the
first few bars, are at the end of the last track and none are really
complete in this chain. Does anyone know of a way to get around this?

It doesn't monitor any stations. It looks for the title and/or artist
that the selected station is playing, should this information be

I also like a pretty unique feature, recording wishlist. Use this to
record stations playing any tracks by a certain artist, or vice versa.
It's in the recording menu. You add the artist(s) or track(s) you want.
Any station playing what you have added will be recorded. Good or what!

If you bought the program before he instituted the activation process, then
go to

http://q-continuum.net/hope
and click on resend activation. You put in your e-mail and it generates a

it to go and download the latest version, since the older 95 version won't
have the activation scheme in it. Just reinstall and go from there.

I don't think I am going to pay for an online subscription because the only
channel we do not get on Dish network is the talk channels and the only

It isn't worth paying for if I can get the music channels on Dish.

If you bought the program before he instituted the activation process,
then go to

http://q-continuum.net/hope
and click on resend activation. You put in your e-mail and it generates a
code which will be sent by e-mail. The latest version is 999, so it's
worth it to go and download the latest version, since the older 95 version
won't have the activation scheme in it. Just reinstall and go from there.

There was a recent update which instituted an activation requirement
because people were pirating the program.

Yeah that's how HOPE is running now, until you pay the 10 dollars the
it unlocks all the features when you put your code into HOPE.

I’m using the demo of hope right now and what i want to know is this.
When I create one station and then look for something else, i can’t
listen to my other station, i mean i do not even get that option. In
the list of stations my screen reader says 1 of 1, and its alwalways
the latest one i created.

With the demonstration copy is this normal?

Ok Tom please let us know when the accessible player comes out since I am
a subscriber for serius XM and it would be cool to listen to it online.

2012-02-11 Thread Gary Schindler
they are two different types of satellite receivers, two companies merged
under one umbrella (ownership) now.

the MyFi 2 can still be had from the MyRadio store.
Try the following link:
http://www.myradiostore.com/
If you call I would hope someone can suggest a radio for you.
