R: Re: a good mixer for live broadcasting?

2010-06-09 Thread ml88
Hi robert, my sound card has the mic input, and i have also a processor, a dbx
286a. You suggested to continue to use my sound card for recordings, the
problem is that when i need to go on air i have to move all cables to connect
the mic and the processor to the mixer, and not to the sound card, this because
i need to manage all volumes through the mixer. Is there a way to use my sound
card without moving all? Thanks in advance and sorry again.

High Mario and Robert,
Two things here.
#1. the M-Audio sound cards don't usually have microphone input jacks on
them, so you will need some kind of a preamp to get the mike to work anyway.
#2. If you end up getting electronic equipment from the United States, some
of it usually have 105 to 215 volt switches on them.
But if they don't, there is a power transformer that you can buy to step the
220 volts down to 110 volts.
Hope this helps.
My best regards.
  John.

Hi Robert, I was tinking of using a mixer because I want to go on air, and
manage volume directly with faders, controlling music and microphone
separately. There is a way for doing this with my m-audio? Sorry but I'am
 really confused.

Taking intros with Sound Forge

2006-01-24 Thread Ml88
Hi, from this week I produce a format for a web radio, so I need to mix the
music with my voice, and I will need to take intros like a live broadcast.
For example: the singer start to sing at second 32,442, so my voice has to
finish before this point, I need to talk over the instrumental part of the song.

How I can do this?

Thanks in advance.

 because
I have only one soundcard, the default.

Latency in sound forge 6

2005-11-18 Thread Ml88
Hi, I'm recording a cd with a friend that sings italian songs, for personal
satisfaction.
I'am a Jaws 6.10 user (italian version) and for recording I use sound forge 6.
I've incided the voice, but when I try to mix it with the music the result is
that first the song is ok, and then the voice goes out of tempo. Note that if I
listen only the voice it's at the correct time!
What can I try to do?
If someone want I can send an example of mix, I've to resolve this problem.
I've also tryed to install sound forge 8 but whit this version I've others
problems, and I would like to use 6.0.

Can you help me?

Thanks in advance.

Well, it sounds to me like you are doing everything correctly. As long as
the voice and music are at the same tempo, and that the voice begins at
precisely the right spot in the music, and that you have pasted the voice
and music together in the way you describe, well ... it should work!

I would like to know: what is, at the moment, the more accessible
automation software for managing a internet radio?

Station Playlist wins the accessibility war hands down. It's very
flexible, has just a gazillion features, has lots of blind users and
enthusiasts, and above all, has a developer who is aware of blind
users' needs and is very willing to work with us, and has.

The bad side of SP is that it's just a very fancy wrapper for a couple
instances of Winamp running in the background that you don't really
get to touch. But even that's going to change, maybe even this year,
when the author writes his own play-out system, thereby cutting out a
few problems caused by Winamp and the crossfader plug-in.

 Hope this helps.

Sam broadcaster v3 and live voice

2005-11-16 Thread Ml88
Hi all!
I'am a newbie of this list... I would like to use Sam broadcaster version 3 to
broadcast my voice over the music.
So I go in the Window menù and I click on voice fx, but when I click mic
on and then I press the f12 key Sam doesn't put down the volume of music, it
put down the volume only for one second when I release the key. Why? what can I
do?
also... I don't have two sound cards, can you suggest me a program that allow
to broadcast music and voice? Music from sound card, voice from line in... it
is possible without having the problem of Jaws that speaks?

Thanks in advance.

 Hi list:

Is there any place I can go to learn how to create a script that will show
what's playing on my stream? Thanks!

Hi there:

I found Sam to be inaccessible in some areas with speech. For this reason I
found station playlist to work better for live broadcasting.
As for jaws coming through the sound card. Best to get a hardware
synthesizer. Not sure about the line out jack possibilities there. But I
am sure one of the more experience broadcasters here can answer that
question.
