Walter, Far as I know the version for GW V5.57 work with v5.58 but as yet, am still using v5.56. I understand the scripts are available from the BlindCoolTech site. It would be useful to know which operating system you have, since I exclusively use Windows XP Home, for which I paste in the following from a post I sent elsewhere a few days ago. How to use these scripts. Installation. 1. Open the folder into which you have unzipped the scripts. 2. Now do escape with control, p for programs, j for jaws, right arrow into the submenu and go down to the explore Jaws and right arrow into it's submenu. 3. Go down to the explore my settings and enter. 4. alt-tab into the folder into which you unzipped the GoldWave files and move them into the folder you opened under the explore my settings. 5. Close all these down. 6. Go into configuration manager which I assume you know how to do, you should be looking at the my settings folder when it asks you to open a file, you are looking for a file called goldwave.JSS so open it and compile as with any other file. 7. Close all saving the changes when closing the configuration manager or whatever it is which compiles scripts. 8. Open GoldWave and do Jaws key with Q which should announce GoldWave settings 5 are loaded application being used is Gwave.exe g w a v e . e x e job completed. Of course, you could move the .zip file into the appropriate folder and decompress it there, saves moving then. Help with Goldwave scripts, please
Hi folks. At present I am using Gold Wave V5.25. Things have moved on a pace since I got this version and I think it is time to upgrade. I understand that 5.58 is the latest version of Gold Wave but are there suitable scripts for JAWS available for this version? If so, where can I download them from? Equally as important, how do I install them? It has been a number of years now since I got help to install the scripts for the version I now have and I simply did what I was instructed but as it was new to me and I was very inexperienced, I was unable to retain the information. If some kind soul would be so kind and give me a step by step guide of where and how to install the right scripts for the latest version I would be very grateful. Of course, if the scripts are self instal then that solves a lot of problems but it still would be useful to know how to do it the long way. With many thanks and hope someone can help. Walter. I have just purchased Goldwave. I started by listening to Rick Harmon's podcast on Goldwave and noticed that many features he was able to use did not work for me. I pasted the latest script files into my jaws 10 folder under settings and enu where the rest of my scrip files appear to be. I used scripts for goldwave version 1.58. When I tried the Insert 3 command on the number pad, I do not get any of the file duration and time information for the portions that I have selected and copied to my new sound file using markers. Also, when starting and ending recordings, Jaws does not announce anything. Is there a written tutorial on using Jaws with Goldwave? Thanks. I have tested them, they are working fine, and several previous issues are also fixed, current version is 1.58, and should only be used with latest version of goldwave, not that 5.25 however I am working on scripts for something new if I can, so if you are seeking a feature that is not available and you want to see in the scripts, feel free to write to me, and see if it can be implimented. Speaking of GoldWave scripts, do you know if version 1.57 times out or something? Because lately, I've been using GoldWave on my laptop, and the scripts haven't been doing what they should be. Are there any scripts for goldwave or does anyone know of any keyboard commands to allow me to move around the file? Moving the cursor keys doesn't seem to work. I have the version 5.06 of goldwave, and jaws 5.0884. Could someone either tell me where to get the scripts, or send them to me? Thanks.
