RE: re sound taxi
Hi Brian. First, sorry for not getting back to you sooner. What I did to make the program work easier is to set it up to automaticly bring up the list of files you want to select. I think it's in the options section. When you are in the file selection dialogue, just hit SHIFT+TAB twice to get to the list of files. I always have all the files in their own folder, so I just hit CTRL+A to select them all, then hit ENTER to select them. Also, I have all the files go to their own folder where I don't get confused with what's the original and what's the converted file. Oh yeah, One other setting you may want to turn on is to automaticly start converting files. This way, you just select the files you want to convert, and Sound Taxi starts to convert them right away. Hope this is useful. If you have any other questions let me know. Re: re sound taxi
you need to first go into settings to tell the program what output folder you want the results sent to, the format of the file being converted. Then you open the file you want converted and then start the conversion. *** character is found in how you treat people who can't do anything for you. web page http://www.wrighthere.net - Original Message - From: brian parker brian.parke...@btopenworld.com To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Wednesday, February 06, 2013 12:43 PM Subject: re sound taxi Hi, this message is for kevin minor who uses this programme. kevin, i downloaded this programme with the help of my daughter, who fortunately can see. jus as well she was here, as we had quite a job to install it. now i am stuck. using my mouse pad, i found a button: select file to convert. i pressed that, and found my list of files, and promptly got stuck. waht should i have done after i found the book i wanted to convert, and was resting on it. wat ever i did, i could get no further. can you help kevin. brian. Re: re sound taxi question
Yes, I agree. You might be able to find some other converter that will convert M4A files into another format, but then you run the risk of introducing some new artefacts. Best if you can go to the source and just specify another format. Re: re sound taxi
Hi brian, I have it here, but I haven't used it for a while. Running window-eyes 8.0, and I used to run sound taxi with 6.0 and later. Don't know what the links on the site do, sounds like documentation would be the .pdf, as for the mp3 I don't know about that. What file types do you want to convert? RE: re sound taxi
Hi Brian. I use Sound Taxi with no screen, so it's quite useable. You will have to use the mouse function of your software to get it working, but it's not too bad. Here's the link for Sound Taxi. http://soundtaxi.info It costs $40, and for another $5 you can get an extended download plan so you can get the program if you have to reformat your PC. Have fun, and don't work too hard. Kevin Minor, Lexington, KY kmi...@windstream.net To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: pc-audio-unsubscr...@pc-audio.org

Brian, Audible has responded to inquiries about support for the new Stream. They say that it will be supported. I suspect that Audible considers it to be just a new generation of a player that is already supported. While support for the new Stream is good news, it would be even better if Audible would make a commitment to support all new devices designed for people with disabilities. I've already heard repeatedly on another list that everybody should be using main-stream commercial devices and that the market for specialty devices will soon be gone; don't need to hear all that again!
