There is nothing strange about that, Lame is free to the private user, but
it cannot be distributed with free audio software, only the ones you pay for
include it.

I keep a copy of Lame always available for these cases, if you do not have

Sunshine is also right about its speed, it is slower than for instance,

Hmmm, the difference in size is considerable and puzzling. It would be nice
to have a help file in plain text, since there is no help menu that I can
find. As far as the Lame files, just look for lame.exe in Google and you
will be able to download it free, then either copy the .exe and .dll to the
program's folder or simply try to convert some text to MP3 and it will ask
you for the location of Lame.

Yes, you can indeed use all the SAPI voices installed in your computer, I
tried it with a Loquendo voice and an AT&T voice.

The Lame folder you download from the internet, uncompress and save to your
hard drive; the first time you try to convert text to MP3, the program will
ask you for its location; you enter the full path to lame.exe and that's
all, the program will do the rest. Alternatively, you may copy the lame.exe
and lamenc.dll to the folder where the program resides.

Hi
I would wait. Will tell you more in the next few days unless Humberto helps
you. I do not know which voices they have but they use standard SAPI. When I

went to their website a pleasant Brithis female vocie spoke. Most likely you

can use the installed voices you have on your computer that are SAPI.
Usually you will have to install and then point the two files lame and
lameenc.dll to your C:\program files\Specsoft\ folder

Do I have to download this separately? What voices does it use?
