You can also manually convert each recording if needed by going to Replay

your applications key or shift+f10 and choose the save to mp3 option with your

You will see the converted .mp3 file in the My Recordings list view.
You can play the file by pressing your enter key on the entry in the my

Yes it is. In your case you got the WMV file as this is what your station is
using and the converted file into MP3 which you either manually converted or
set via the station's station 'No Conversion Settings'.

Replay Radio 9 and Windows 8 users. Replay Radio 9 will work and be unaffected
if you plan to record 'direct download' type recordings. Direct Download is the
same as stream capture in Replay AV 8. These are stations or shows that you can
record silently in the background. Again, you are not affected here.
Replay Radio works for direct download / stream capture type recordings. This
is the best method to do your recordings.

If you have Windows 8 and wants to record 'record audio' type streams then you
are affected. Read the user guide about Windows 8 secure boot.

When I was testing Replay Radio 9 there was no Replay Radio 9 user guide.

URL ending with 6366
First URL works, direct download / stream capture type URL. Allows one to
record the stream silently in the background with Replay Radio 9.
Original file is WMV format.
With Replay Radio 9 you can tell each scheduled entry within its schedule to
convert the recordings to another format like mp3 so all your recordings for
the above station URL to be in .mp3.
You will have the original WMV and Mp3 for the above.
Did a two minute recording. British station.

URL ending with 7128
BBC Radio 4 Extra
Works with Replay Radio 9. WMV format the audio.
Direct Download / Stream Capture type audio here.
Does not affect Windows 8 Users.
  Did a two minute recording.

Go to your Schedule list view within Replay Radio 9 find the station you want
by using your up or down arrow keys in the list view that you have scheduled
and press your ENTER keyboard key. The Schedule dialog pops up for you. If you
tab a few times you will hear Capture: Combo Box / Drop Down. Your two stations
you provided to me are using 'Direct Download' and not 'record audio'. Again
Replay Radio 9 is not affected when your stations and shows are using 'direct
download' which is the same as stream capture.

Re: replay radio9 and recordings not working.

2013-12-28 Thread Petro T. Giannakopoulos
Replay Radio 9 uses terms as Direct Download and Record Audio. When you add a
station or show from the media guide via the add+ link you are shown a schedule
dialog with the best presets for your station or show for the best possible
recording method. If you tab a few times you will hear the capture: combo box /
drop down. In this capture: control you will hear either Direct Download or
Record Audio.

If they are 'Direct Download' in the Capture: control then Replay Radio 9 is
not affected. You can record your entry using Windows 8.
Replay Radio 9 works with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 too.

Do you understand now?

When you added your two stations from the media guide were they originally
'record audio'? If they were they need to fix this from the guide as direct
download is the better recording method.

You gave me BBC radio 4 Extra and what was the other station called?

BBC Radio 4 Extra; Schedule: At 00:00 every Friday for 60 minutes,
starting 27/12/2013; Schedule (TZ): At 00:00 every Friday for 60
minutes, starting 27/12/2013 [(UTC) Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London

If they are 'Direct Download' in the Capture: control then Replay Radio 9 is

Replay Radio 9 works with Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7 too.

When you added your two stations from the media guide were they originally
'record audio'? If they were they need to fix this from the guide as direct
download is the better recording method.

You gave me BBC radio 4 Extra and what was the other station called?

RSS is for archived / on demand audio. Not live stream.
Your two stations were not podcasts but actually live streams so do not use RSS
as an option. When you add via the media guide do not change the settings
provided except the start recording time and date plus the minutes.
Only tinker with the settings if you are not getting a recording.

What I would do if I were you is delete your two stations from the Schedule lit
view first. Go to the media guide and find your two stations again. When you
click the +add link the schedule dialog will appear. You can change the name,
start recording time, date and duration in minutes. If you see 1440 for the
minutes please first delete the number 1440 with your backspace key or delete
key. Re-read each setting with insert+tab key with JAWS or NVDA. To tell Replay
Radio 9 to automatically convert the recording to another format you look for
the 'No Conversion Setting' within the schedule. There you can tell your WMV's
to be converted to MP3 and at a certain bit rate. Will tell you how to do it
via Skype.

You can also manually convert each recording if needed by going to Replay
Radio's My Recordings list view and find the recording first and then press
your applications key or shift+f10 and choose the save to mp3 option with your
enter key.

You will see the converted .mp3 file in the My Recordings list view.
You can play the file by pressing your enter key on the entry in the my
recordings list view or tab over to the play button within Replay Radio 9's
main user interface.

actually quite advanced with computers but admit to being a bit stumped

If they are 'Direct Download' in the Capture: control then Replay Radio 9

Your screen reader's speech output will not get captured / recorded. When your
station(s) is using 'direct download' it is being silently recorded in the
background and allows you to do other things with the computer like email, web
surfing and
much more.

Also you can record multiple stations at the same time silently if they are
direct download.
Say you want to record station 1 and station 2 at the same time at 2 PM or 1400
hours you can do it if they are using direct download.

Try it.
