Re: Sound cards for HP notebook computers
On these USB sound devices, Can one record with either a stereo mic or two separate mics--of course, with appropriate adapter/splitter? It seems link my newest notebook and my netbook won't record in stereo at mic level. They have only one input jack to the sound card. Maybe it's switchable between mic and line level input? Any insite here? Thanks. Hi, the fast track had left and right combo xlr 1/4 inputs . I can't remember how I used a standard stereo mic. Check with the guitar center or Sound professionals about it. -Original Message- From: Howard Traxler Sent: Wednesday, September 14, 2011 1:50 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Sound cards for HP notebook computers On these USB sound devices, Can one record with either a stereo mic or two separate mics--of course, with appropriate adapter/splitter? Re: Sound cards for HP notebook computers
The Devil Sound device is simply playback, has a usb connector on one end and two rya jacks on the other end. Just to correct someone who commented earlier it is $350, says so right on the devilsound.com site. Not sure about the others mentioned some of which I'm sure have recording capabilities as well. Okay, model of HP computer is DV6-2119tx which is fairly old - that is to say its about 8 months old the model but still selling - and I've found the card slot specs too if this is any help. slots: pc card (expresscard 54/34) integrated card reader (sd/mmc/ms/mspro/xd). Are you looking for something high quality or something just for voice. If high quality and you can afford it and need it just for playback go with the Devil Sound usb dec. Ah, yeh, it looks like Express Cards replaced the old PC Cards (PCMCIA). I don't think I've actually seen one on any of my recent laptops though, but maybe I just didn't recognize it. RE: Sound cards for HP notebook computers
Yep, it sounds like a pretty interesting card, I've looked at it at www.sweetwater.com they cell it. I shaired it on my face book page. They say the pre-amps are almost silent. Wether that's ccompletely true or not, I know not since I've never heard it. My favorite but it's $650 is the Sound-Devices USB pre2 card. They say this one sounds like their 744-T recorder. I dethinately know what that sounds like having heard Neal's and I love it. I'm talking about Neal Ewers of course. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of ken reed Sent: Tuesday, September 13, 2011 11:50 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Sound cards for HP notebook computers I would look in to the m-audio's fast track pro.
