Fwd: Winamp questions
Hi all, I don't know if anyone of the list saw my post below as I haven't seen a reply on it yet. So forgive me, but I would like to start learning how to do some radio ready recordings and jingles of my own. Please, if anyone knows what the download link might be for WinAmp, (and if anyone knows which version of WinAmp works the best with NVDA) you can post your answers off-list to me if you would. Thank you! Original Message Subject: Winamp questions Date: Fri, 29 Mar 2013 00:28:50 -0500 From: Johnny Angel Reply-To: PC Audio Discussion List To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Hi all! Re: Winamp questions
Thanks Barry, for that great set of instructions. I also just started using Winamp again after a long time away from it. I'm quite pleased with the library but I wonder if I'm using the best set of scripts. The set I'm using have no help tips and keyboard shortcuts for the library. The scripts I found at: http://www.jfwlite.com/programs.html WinAmp Scripts or Jaws 7 and greater Updated by Jim Grimsby to add Library Support Bob On 1/3/2013 3:58 PM, Barry Chapman wrote: Hi Mike, Pressing l when in the Winamp playlist editor will place the file at the end of the playlist. I wanted to ask you guys about Winamp. I recently downloaded version 5.63, which I've heard is very accessible with Windows xp and Windows 7. However, after listening to a discussion about Winamp on an old episode of Mainn Menu from the ACB Radio archive, one of the broadcasters said, that Winamp has a weird querkyness about it. They said, that When you're playing a long playlist of items, and try to insert a track into the list, instead of placing the track below the one that's currently playing, Winamp will instead place the track at the bottom of the playlist, which may not be where you want it to go. Being that the episode of Main Menu I listened to goes way back to April 17 2000, the information I heard might no longer be relevant. For any of you who use Winamp for either broadcasting and/or personal listening, is there any way to fix Winamp, so that it will place newly inserted tracks into their proper place in a playlist? Also, is there a cart machine plug-in for Winamp, that allows users to play sound effects and radio station jingles? I know that Station Playlist Studio can do all of this, but in case I'm not able to get my hands on a copy of Playlist Studio, I might end up having to use Winamp for broadcasting. I'm not giving up on getting Studio just yet, but if I should need to, I'll have to use Winamp as an alternative. Thanks. Mike Rochester, NY. I find this is pretty typical behavior when they have a "Pro"version they want to push. I agree with you, although I don't find the Winamp page too difficult to navigate, especially now that they've fixed their download link. That may just be because I've gotten used to it though. in windows xp you would go to C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Winamp replace the owner with what ever you have for your account. If you Google for "MP3 tags text" you'll get a few options. I don't know how any of them work or how accessible they are, so you may want to just wait and see if anyone has any suggestions. If not though, you may want to give some of these tools a try. -- Christopher chalt...@gmail.com On 7/2/2010 1:03 PM, Donald L. While we are talking about Winamp and also script functionality, I wonder whether anyone has done a serious A-B comparison of the functionality of the Jaws Winamp scripts compared to the Window-Eyes scripts. It is not my desire to precipitate screen reader wars; and I also understand that if one is a Jaws user, he will use the Jaws scripts, and the same is true for a Window Eyes user; but I have never heard any discussion about the relative merits of the scripts for each Screen reader when using Winamp. Winamp questions
I would like to know if there is some means of copying all mp3 tag info for each track in a playlist to a text file. Although my primary screen reader is Window-Eyes 7.2, I also have a JFW demo on my system. So if there is a way to do this without manually copying the info for each track, please tell me the procedure. The next question is a long shot but worth a try. Although a lot of people want gapless track playing, I want the opposite because I copy some play lists to mini disc, and a 2 to 3 second pause between tracks is necessary to place the mark for a new track. So, I want to know if it is possible to cause Winamp to delay the playing of each track for two seconds or so. Lastly, someone else asked a question recently as to how to auto tag multiple files. I too want to know how to do this. I know how to auto tag individual files but not multiple files. Thanks in advance for ideas. Winamp questions
I have played my music files using Winamp for years but only now have decided to use the playlist editor. Could someone please provide specifics as to how to use the playlist editor, preferably using Window Eyes, but using Jaws is okay as I also have a demo of Jaws 10 on my computer. If anyone on this list is using the Window Eyes Winamp scripts, please tell me whether Winamp lite will work with those scripts. That is presently the version I am running, however the scripts are not working for me, so perhaps I need to uninstall the lite version and install Winamp full. Thanks. The tunes should play in numerical order in winamp. Perhaps you have shuffle mode on? The letter s toggles this feature on and off. Winamp Questions.
Hi List, I'm having a problem with Winamp 5.21 not playing all tracks on a CD. Maximizing the window didn't seem to fix the problem. How can I have the titles of songs be displayed? I also have instructions for setting global keys from within the Program. When I tried to set up Winamp for this task, it didn't work correctly. Is there a particular skin that needs to be selected? I'm using Window-Eyes 5. Thanks.
