Hello! I am trying to record a music track which I'm playing myself on a soprano recorder. I got a sound-file with a piano-song and I want to mix these two together. But when I mix something goes down. The flute doesn't follow the rhytm in the piano-file. If I record it live then nothing is wrongwith the result. What I do when recording the flute-file. I play the piano file and play along it but I record the flute only. I am using the Winamp when playing the other file. And afterwards I'm editing the other things away from the file. So the flute is the only content. What can I do to solve this problem`??? Thanks in advance for your help. I use SoundForge 8.0D and JFW 6.2 without scripts. Soundforge Question
I have SF7 on an XP Pro machine. The is (or rather there was) an option on the file menu to extract audio from a cd. This choice stil exists. However SF appears to have forgotten where my cdrom is. I can also remember that in the options sub-menu there use to be an option which dealt with this cdrom issue. That appears to have developed legs and taken to the road as well. Any ideas. I have contact the SF Users list but I think that they have taken to the road too. SoundForge Question
I am running SoundForge6.0 and everything is working great other than the fact that when I finish a session and save my work along with the wav or mp3 file that I am working on a whole bunch of other files are saved. They have strange extensions like sfk sfl and other types. I know that there is a way of getting rid of them other than deleting them one by one by hand so to speak. A few years back I knew there was a way to configure the program not to leave this stuff around. I have forgotten the setting. Can anyone enlighten me. Thanks in advance. Hi list, i have a funny one here. i have just tried to load in to soundforge7, a mp3 files. all it will do, is to announce the name of the file when i press the spacebar, but i can play the whole of this file in foobar, and can play it on my victor classic if i burn it to a disc. has anyone else had this problem, and can anyone suggest what if anything i can do about it. brian. Hi list, i am using soundforge 7 with windows 7 and wineyes 72. wineyes users who use soundforge and wineyes know, after a recording is made, if it is played for a few seconds, and stopped, going to the bottom of the screen with the mouse pad, useful information can be got, such as to where one is in a file, and above that, rate of the recording like, negative 3, or whatever. i was using this successfully, until yesterday. now, when i go to the bottom of the screen with the mousepad, and come up one movement, i get the start button, and can't get the usual information. i have tried focus window, user window, and active window. as i haven't made any changes, i can't work out what has happened. has anyone else run in to this problem, and what did you do about it. any help would be appreciated. brian. hi list, i am using soundforge7. i may now spell some things wrongly, as i am going on audio. it says my mid sinc has gone to none, and i should adjust this in preferences. i went there, and found midi sinc number 5 of thirteen, but couldn't find out to see if it was set at none, or how to change it. can anyone help. brian. SoundForge Question Revisited.
Hi Gang: I am trying to split a lartge file based on the silence between phrases. In this case, a two second gap would represent chapter breaks. In Goldwave, this is easily accomplished; however, I don't seem to be able to accomplish this by using the Auto Region creation in SF 8. A Soundforge Question
Hi all. I have registered the Noise Reduction of Soundforge. Before that, I've copied some CD's, but have the excess noise. Is there a way to take the noise out of those with Soundforge? I went to drive D to play the CD with the noise I want to get rid of. I usually find it on my local disk C, so I went there, copied to the clipboard, then alt tabbed to the D drive, and pasted it to the clipboard. I found that I could do that. If this works, it would be great if I didn't have to copy the CD over again, and create coasters. I also would like to do some pitch shifting from material I've copied onto CD, and do the same, without having to copy a whole new CD again. Ok, well that's completely up to you of course but I prefer to set that combo box so that I can record directly from whatever sound device I want rahter than through that Microsoft Sound Mapper which can sometimes cause problems,. Select the one you want and press return. That should do it. Thing is that I did that and there was no drive there. However I can burn cd's from Nero, Alcohol, XP itself adn any other program and even make a vcd from Nero Vision. So work that one out *grin*. A Soundforge Question
Hi all. I'm burning some old-time radio to CD. I had something with Bob Hope. It sounded like it was too high pitched from what I remembered of Bob Hope, even back in the early years. Anyway, I'm wondering: In soundforge, you're supposed to be able to either pitch shift or bend, but what is the keystroke to cause it to have the pitch lowered. I would appreciate any help with this, or with anything else that will do this. Hi. Go into Sound Forge, hit alt+o, then p. Hit ctrl+tab until you hear "file". Hit tab until you hear "delete temporary files on close", and make sure that box is checked. I don't think it will be, since you're seeing these files, so check it. Tab to OK and hit enter. That should do it. Hi Again gang: I have a very large audio book which I want to divide in to files representing each chapter. My question is, is there a way to automatically insert markers at each chapter break without listening to the whole book? There is approximately 2 seconds of silence between chapter breaks. Can SoundForge be configured to look for these breaks and automatically insert a marker? You can probably take the noise out with Noise Reduction but if you've ripped them and they are noisy then you ought to rip them again. Hi Jerry. I listened to a CD that I copied. I decided that I would try this: I copied the CD to the clipboard, then went to My Computer, and local disk C, and pasted it in. I then went into Soundforge Noisereduction to remove the noise. Then I copied that to the clipboard. I went back to the original file. Then I pasted the reduced noise file back into the CD. Hello, use the extract options from the file menu, with letter E as the shortcut key. Go through the box and check the one that says put regions in the file, and let it extract the whole cd into a file. Then you can work with it until it's where you want it, and then make cd's from the modified file. Sound Forge has a track at once burning program, so for live cd's, or for anything you don't want to have a two-second gap in, use something else to burn the cd. Hi, To make a portion of the sound faid out, first select that portion of the sound. Then, on the process menu, choose faid. The option you want from this menu is out. As for mixing two sounds, and faiding the first one out and the second one in, first, copy the second sound to the clip board. Then, get to the position in the first sound where you want the faid to occur, and press control-f. Hi Gary, To change the pitch of a file in Soundforge, press alt C for effects, and arrow up for pitch submenu; click on it. You can now arrow down for pitch shift, and hit enter. You are now ready to arrow down again at this point, where you will find a number of pitch shifted presets which you can choose from, but I usually skip these presets in favor of the semitone slider setting. To locate this semitone slider, just continue to tab several times until you get to the slider and click on it. But when I get to the effects menu and go to where it says Pitch, and I go to shift and press enter, I get a message where it says thatit requires data to process, and the sound 1 or 2 or whatever file contains no data. Some versions of Sound Forge have an "append" checkbox in the open dialog. If you have that option, check it and each file you open will be appended. sound card and soundforge question
hello friends, i have just had a new sound card installed on my desktop, i'm using sound forge seven, jaws 11 and windows seven, i also have the "line in" and speakers in the correct places, however, when i go in to sound forge to record i get zilch, nothing, i'm using a beringer mixer i can play music files in sound forge but not record, now i know i have something either not switched on, but where to look, it's so long since i've set this up that i can't remember where to go to get everything up and running for recording, any help will be really appreciated, take care, god bless, travel safely, joe.
