If you are prone to losing these little gizmos, and you have a broad enough
strap, do as I did - thread some plastic film cassette holders between the
two parts of the strap where it loops back through the buckle, quick stitch
or even superglue to stop them falling out, and you can carry all sorts of
stuff in them. The lids stay on so it's weatherproof too.

I really love the way that many of these scams are worded. It's always a dead
giveaway that the email is bogus.

Some time ago Pay Pal scamers were worried that the suspension of my Pay Pal

Not a very carefully constructed picture but one I thought you guys in

  1. We hang onto our cars for a long time - this looks to be about a
20 year old car (Ford Laser aka Mazda 323)
  2. The air is pretty clean and we don't use salt on the roads. Not

OS trip. Besides they're only taking pre-release orders at the moment.
It's not released until April.

I'm still debating as to whether I'll get the pure vanilla CS3 or the
Extended version. I can think of situations where the ability to
render 3D objects take measurements from photos would come in very
handy.

Cheers,

 You have roads? Luxury!

I spent about 6 weeks in the Basque country over a couple of
 holidays
in the mid 80s. In fact, I stood next to Hannibal Lecter at the
baggage carousel at Bilbao airport the last time - but that was when
he was just the very talented British actor Anthony Hopkins, and I
seemed to be the only person who knew who he was.

William Albert Allard has a very good book of photos from the Basque
country, which I can highly recommend:

In my 13 odd years of using Pentax equipment I hadn't had any
failures. Then I had 2 within the last 12 months.

- The S' button on my AF-540 FGZ flash unit died. The flash was
exchanged for a new one.

- The black 31mm Ltd. I recently purchased had to be exchanged because
the A position had a bad connection. It would only communicate with
the camera if you twisted the aperture ring and held it there.

But on the whole I have no gripes.

Adobe has gone to a unified licensing model with Lightroom: one

But the download is only 20Mbytes or so, IIRC, so it's not too big a

Adobe has gone to a unified licensing model with Lightroom: one
package, one license. Both Mac OS X and Windows versions are
 included
in the purchase package on CD. I'm not sure about the download ...
they probably have separate downloads to save time.

But the download is only 20Mbytes or so, IIRC, so it's not too big a
 deal to download it twice.

The Mac version won't install on a Windows machine
 visa versa.

Are you really sure about that?

I checked:

Both versions are on the CD when you buy the hard copy package. One
license covers both products. They are downloaded separately from the
website.

The Mac OS X version is packaged as a disk image, approximately
35Mbytes to download.
The Windows version is packaged as an executable install archive,
approximately 45Mbytes to download.

Question about Web Galleries generated by Adobe Light Room

Hi!

When LR generates an HTML library it generates three directories under
\images:
\large - the pictures themselves
\thumbs - the thumbs and
\small - smaller versions of the pictures.

I looked in the sources of the generated library and nowhere could I
find a reference to \small directory. Yet it takes certain amount of space.

Could anyone tell me why these \small files are created?

Thanks.

Re: CS3 ready for ordering.????????

2007-03-30 Thread Godfrey DiGiorgi
This is in the FAQ:

---
How many computers are covered by a single license of Photoshop
Lightroom 1.0?

Subject to the terms of the End User Licensing Agreement, the primary
user of the computer on which Photohop Lightroom (the Software) is
installed may install a second copy of the Software for his or her
exclusive use on either a portable computer or a computer located at
his or her home, provided that the Software on the portable or home
computer is not used at the same time as the Software on the primary
computer. You may be required to contact Adobe in order to make a
second copy. Photoshop Lightroom is sold as multi-platform software,
which means it can be installed on either Mac OS X or Windows.
---

You can do one of two things:
- Call Adobe customer service/sales and ask the question. And/or
order the CD.

- Download the 30 day free trial for both platforms, pay for one.
Then plug the authorization code into both. If that causes any
problem, call Adobe.

Personally, I like having the CD package so I ordered it. I then
downloaded the free 30 day trial and used it until my package
arrived, plugged in the numbers. I installed on both my laptop and
desktop systems, and it didn't require any call to Adobe to get
things working. (Both my systems are Mac OS X.)

Otherwise you are a dirty no good thief.

That's one reason, at least as far as RAW converters/workflow
managers go, why BibblePro makes me happy. One license, install on
your Windows/Mac/Linux machines as you see fit, so long as you are
only user and you are actively using one copy at a given moment
(honor system).

Best regards,

Don't forget he'll have to talk to me at least once. The GFM official
beer cooler is in my truck.

Adobe has gone to a unified licensing model with Lightroom: one

they probably have separate downloads to save time.

But the download is only 20Mbytes or so, IIRC, so it's not
 too big a
 deal to download it twice.
The Mac version won't install on a Windows machine
 visa versa.

Are you really sure about that?
 I checked:

Both versions are on the CD when you buy the hard copy package. One
license covers both products. They are downloaded separately
 from the
 website.

The Mac OS X version is packaged as a disk image, approximately
 35Mbytes to download.
The Windows version is packaged as an executable install archive,
 approximately 45Mbytes to download.

Call me stupid, it's obviously a scam since it was sent to your

I'd guess that what got posted to the list was cut-and-pasted from and
email read in an HTML mail reader, so what got posted wasn't the URL
that was actually in the link.

HTML mail is evil. Mail clients that render HTML mail are even more
evil.
