OT: As Blogs Are Censored, It's Kittens to the Rescue
Part of the reason why I read this list is to put me in contact with other folks around the world. While I like the atmosphere of a friendly 'Pentax Pub', I do want to hear about politics and religion on occasion. When my country is doing stupid or silly things, I think that's fair game for a comment or two. When my opinions show that I've got my head wedged up my nether regions, I hope somebody will tell me. I don't want to start big flame wars on politics or religion, but the article below makes some excellent points with regard to the current election unrest in Iran. You can censor new sources and you can censor focused efforts, but you can't break up old, established internet friends. Be it Rugby, or Kittens, or Photography, this is how information can get out. Exactly my thought (along with probably every photographer of a certain age). I think the first video clip is the best. Re: OT - Time for some new pants I reckon
2009/6/11 Bob W p...@web-options.com: A couple of years ago I got myself up to running 1 hour at a time, but after a few weeks I thought my ankles and knees wouldn't be able to take any more, so I've dropped back to 30 minutes now, and will gradually build it up again, sensibly, I hope. Firstly thanks to all for your funny quips words of encouragement. It actually does help. Update: I broke out into a jog in 2 sections on my walking route (2.74km) One section of 350m and another of 150m. Not much, but a good start considering I've never in my life been a runner. The really good news is my legs knees seem to have taken the abuse with good grace. I actually hurt more from Sunday nights 10 pin bowling outing :-) Cheers, Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

I saw this on dpr: http://forums.dpreview.com/forums/readflat.asp?forum=1036thread=32209590 I hadn't seen this posted yet, so I thought I would give you all a heads up on some wonderful pricing on Pentax lenses. Adray Camera in Dearborne MI is selling all their Pentax Lenses for 30% off, I just picked up a new DA* 50-135MM 2.8 for 630.00. They have a 10 rating on resellerratings.com and 4.9 on pricegrabber. I don't know how long this sale will last. with a more recent post: Thanks for the heads up... but I called just a couple of minutes ago and the guy said they only had the 18-55, 21, 50 macro, and 14 left... basically the lenses on their website. Also, he added that he has notices a lot of pentax lenses leave their shelves earlier today. too bad I missed on this great deal. http://www.adraycamera.com/pentax-3.aspx PENTAX SMCP-DA 14mm F2.8 ED (IF) Website Price: $799.99 Price After Instant Savings: $559.99 You Save: $240.00 (30%) PENTAX SMCP-DA 21mm F3.2 AL LIMITED Website Price: $549.99 Price After Instant Savings: $384.99 You Save: $165.00 (30%) Ouch. Re: Kodak retires Kodachrome
I'm kind of tired of Paul Simon whining. Kodachrome deserves a better epitaph. Strangely as a product it still seems to sell for less and cost less for processing than more recent film products. The fact that Kodak can't seem to make a profit by leveraging some of the mystique, (it's a special niche, almost boutique, product so it should be promoted as one), is a sad comment on how far a marketing giant has fallen.
