Re: GESO - 12 for 2012

2012-12-29 Thread Bob Sullivan
Bruce,
The set is very well done.
The 2 flower shots are favorites, but the girls are great.
Their photos show a bit of mastery of the subject of light and lighting.
It's something I've never thought of and can't do.
Nice to see you developing new skills and bringing them here.
It gives the rest of us something to shoot for.
Regards, Bob S.

2012 was a year of many firsts for me. Among them were my first: model

me; solo exhibit of my work; work with professional models, MUAs and
stylists; fashion design (post-it notes, posterboard, coat-snaps and braided

This year I fully embraced lighting as an equal part of the photographic

These twelve shots are a selection of some of the best from these firsts and

Or, you bought the size tripod that fits in your bag, or that you can
carry with you.

I'd never do that as the tripods end purpose has nothing to do with fitting
a bag - IMO.

A while back I found myself with more than one tripod and bit the bullet,
got rid of them all and bought a Gitzo that was not only rated to carry my
600mm, but also weighted less than any of the tripods I got rid of. OBTW its
tall enough for me - I'm 6'4" - that when fully extended I don't have to
stoop & it has no center column.

I admit it was an expensive tripod, being Carbon fibre but its been well
worth the cost.

YMMV

Sehr schon. You can almost feel the hum. I guess the bars worked as a
tripod?

Love the K5 for low lighting work.

The only way to get this shot was through the iron bars of a gate, hence no
possibility to use a tripod.

...or bought several different tripods and didn't happen to have the
right one with you at the time. (This happens approximately 99% of the

It says "This book is currently not available for preview."

Try again. It may have been a temporary glitch. The preview worked
fine for me.

Another excellent collection, Derbs. My favourites are the old couple
on page 4 and the two girls sharing a joke on page 24.

Nope. Still getting the same message. I don't think it likes me.
