I have used pentax. the spring was removed and a bit of loctite
applied to the one I use with the 300mm

I agree. I needed the grip to make the K5 usable with my hands but I am
occasionally remembering that I have the extra controls now so it is
becoming more valuable.

The space to keep an SD card in the grip has been useful on a couple
occasions already as well I really do seem to enjoy this camera a lot
more than the K10d and have shot a lot more heavily making the extra
battery on-board welcome too.

I guess i do like it even given the price.

My disagreement was with the title, lesser photographer. I know
photographers that can consistently out do me and an slr with a point
and shoot because they understand the equipment they are using and have
a magnificent "eye."

I think the benefit of better equipment is more control and
consistency. I still love my spotty and like being able to turn the k5

It is a grand collection indeed.

Ant Road stands out for me because of the high angle and shadows.

Nice colour and graphic elements. might even end up with too much going
on. The soap dish and the shadow looks like a good composition in
itself.

I love this shot. It could use a bit of a boost (I lack the language of
the tools to be really clear) to bring the greens up a bit more so
they stand out against the other tones in the conversion. but this is

I am not familiar with the dances so have no anticipation of where to

a card and more in a single session.

I came close shooting the Local Fringe fest yesterday but tonight I shot

why the shutter would not trip. I then noticed the 0 images remaining
on the top lcd.

I am not sure that overcoming the film shooters restraint is a good
thing but milestones are intresting.

there is flexible display modes. you can show sets. thumbnails that
open to whatever larger res you like. Low res to higher res. Click
through to a site that offers prints what have you.

You can manage several multimedia sites easily from one site if you
choose. I have one that does everything
http://everseeking.tumblr.com/ and one that is just my photography
http://bran-shot.tumblr.com/ and they can be different stylistically.
The themes can set you apart if you have the skills or get some one
that has them to create or modify one for you. still working on that.

The dashboard gives you an opportunity to follow folks that interest

given my experience with the technology, which may be more good luck
than management, you can likely spend half that. I have a $20 Uniden
ear piece. My only issue would be not using it on my left ear
because open vehicle windows are too noisy. I prefer the bluetooth

There is something about the combination of the angles, silhouette,

I shoot RAW and then batch convert to 16 bit png. Some I go back and
convert with individual attention but given I work on a laptop i am not
sure the special attention matters much.

I save all the RAW and full size edits on external hds.

I have have been thinking that if I start printing my favourites they

That and a file that some programs store data in rather than
imbedding it in a main file like the image files. which would have
been good to have in my case as the program corrupted all but three

the very first step is backup...

I have been using an "experimental" part of my program for a while and
got caught when I tagged the raw files before i backed up.

mostly because I was feeling to lazy to get the other drive.

I had shot an unusually high percentage of shots I was happy with too.
I guess that is the price of a lesson learned.

My Family

2011-05-09 Thread Bran Everseeking
Well

there was a while there that it looked like i may never get to shoot
with the new K5. My darling wife was going to share to shoot her
crafts so it was expected she would want to get used to the camera.
what happened was she got hooked.

She bought a new old stock K-7 since it was budget kindly and already
familiar.

Sunday saw the three of us out with K20, K-7, and K-5 happily stumbling
around shooting. I suspect that it will be much harder for depression
to keep me from going out in the future.
