I shoot RAW and then batch convert to 16 bit png. Some I go back and convert with individual attention but given I work on a laptop i am not sure the special attention matters much. I save all the RAW and full size edits on external hds. I have have been thinking that if I start printing my favourites they might be some of the big winners at auction down the line because they will be the only prints... -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

That's my take on it too and am taking the battery back tomorrow. If the charger doesn't like it I am not putting it in the camera. Battery oddity
Picked up a spare battery for the k5/7 and unlike the other 3 or any of the ones for the k10/20 the charger flashes when I put the new battery in the charger. anyone had this happen or have ideas? could not find any referenced to the light on the charger flashing. That and a file that some programs store data in rather than imbedding it in a main file like the image files. which would have been good to have in my case as the program corrupted all but three dng's of 120 trying to write the tags to the image files. Heading out to costco later to get a couple 3 Tb drives to live with the computers for immediate back ups. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
remember your work-flow
the very first step is backup... I have been using an "experimental" part of my program for a while and got caught when I tagged the raw files before i backed up. mostly because I was feeling to lazy to get the other drive. I had shot an unusually high percentage of shots I was happy with too. I guess that is the price of a lesson learned. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

My Family
Well there was a while there that it looked like i may never get to shoot with the new K5. My darling wife was going to share to shoot her crafts so it was expected she would want to get used to the camera. what happened was she got hooked. She bought a new old stock K-7 since it was budget kindly and already familiar. Sunday saw the three of us out with K20, K-7, and K-5 happily stumbling around shooting. I suspect that it will be much harder for depression to keep me from going out in the future.
