Re: Our new Web site under construction
Thanks to all who have responded both on list and off. Boy did I feel stupid about the spelling errors. I am addressing the problems as I can get to them, just got up this a.m. I had no idea that the images could be dragged onto the desktop. Those slow loaders are being addressed. Not all done yet. Will keep working.Ted -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

GESOs- Eureka Springs, etc.
My wife and I had planned a photo trip to Eureka Springs, AR last Saturday. Instead, she flew to northern Idaho for a family visit, so, I went alone. Some shots posted on Photo Net: pdml@pdml.net More on Flickr along with some shots from our summer trip to Yellowstone, Arches, and many points west: http://www.flickr.com/photos/ted_beilby/ All shots taken with K 10D, 70mm limited or DA 16-45. Re: One lens only...
On my 3 week trip this summer, I hauled everything. My wife ended up using my *ist D with the 16-45, and I used my K 10D with the 70mm limited almost exclusively. I did put a f 100-300 on for a couple of wildlife shots, but other than that, we would just trade lenses. I felt I learned a lot by restricting myself to the fixed focal length of the 70, not to mention the rendering and sharpness of that lens. I am now lusting after the 21, then either the 40 or 43. Wife can't say much about getting more limiteds, I just ordered the DA 18-250 for her to take to China and Japan this summer on an educators trip. She will again be using the *ist D. I really hate loosing that camera. Re: GESO: opnions wanted on these...
Ann: some of the posterized work for me, example: The Manhattan Cafe. Others don't. sorry I can't give you more feedback. I also use posterization at times but usually with my color shots from the drag strip. Things like clouds and smoke, etc seem to work best for me with this process. Another one that I like is Along Route 89, Arizona - 1985. In the Justa Cafe shot, the effect overwhelms the photo for me. my photos on website
It has been many years since I did this type of work. My boss wanted to have me do the photos for the web site he was getting up. Was a nice change from building cabinets. Made a little bit of money in addition to my regular salary. Comment on photos would be appreciated as well as comments on the site. All taken with K10D and 16-45 DA. Site comments would be passed on to my boss. Re: my photos on website
Thanks to all who have commented on my shots and also on the web site. I also felt the thumbnails should be larger and didn't like the fact that when you clicked on a picture, it opened a new browser window each time. I will pass the comments on to my boss. Also would liked to have gotten credits on the shots. Will mention that to him also. RE: K10D list penetration
If anyone is counting, add me to the list. I ordered mine on 11/23 and it arrived here on the 29th. Haven't had much time for it yet, but, I am really happy with it so far. The size is much better for my hands than the D. Looking forward to using it. Ted Beilby -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Re: Survey Time: K10D
I will probably plan on getting the K10D as soon as I can save enough money for it. Shake reduction, 10 mp, ccd cleaning, weather resistant, Shake reduction, weather sealing, Shake reduction main reasons I want it. I am now back on the list after a gap of a couple of years. I have made the switch to a *ist D and gotten a few new lenses. Most recently a 16-45 f4, seems to me a great lens. Here is a link to some of the work I have done recently. http://flickr.com/photos/[EMAIL PROTECTED]/ . Any comments would be welcome. Good to be back. eBay fraud
Chris, sorry to hear about your bad auction. I had a similar experience last year. I was contacted after an auction had closed and told that the high bidder had backed out and that I could have the camera (Olympus C-2500L digital) for my bid. I accepted the offer and made payment using my PayPal account which was holding about $200 and the rest going on a credit card. A few days later, I was contacted by the high bidder asking if I had been contacted and stating that he hadn't backed out and had made payment on it. It turned out that three others had been contacted also. Several emails and a couple of long distance calls later, the seller said that he had several cameras and please be patient. I initiated a complaint through eBay and filed for an insurance claim on it. I also contacted my credit card company and was able to get a refund on the charged part of the cost. I eventually received the balance of my payment from ebay's insurance but it was several months. More importantly, I contacted the Internet crime division of the FBI and made a report. This led to me being contacted by the Connecticut State Police Computer Crimes unit and filing of complaints against the seller. It is now over a year later and last I heard, he was trying for a reduced sentence. It is possible to get satisfaction but it takes time and a lot of effort. I would suggest contacting the State Police of the State the seller is in and seeing about filing a complaint. Also you should report it to your local police. Also try to contact any of the others who were scammed at the same time. Good Luck. Ted Beilby - This message is from the Pentax-Discuss Mail List. Re: Help, stuck lens
I am resending this plead for help. Waiting not too patiently for someone to reply It was dark and I thought I had grabbed my 70-210 which is also an Albinar but has worked fine on this body. I keep checking for a response but no-one has answered me yet. Please respond off list so I can get it asap. I subscribe to the digest so time passes while the messages accumulate. Re: Help, stuck lens
Well, I got the lens off my PZ 20. I cut a piece of film off an exposed/processed roll leader and slipped it into the very narrow gap between the camera mount and the lens mount. Slid it around until it was covering the af probe (which was in the mf position) and Hurrah! the lens dismounted. That lens will never go on the PZ 20 again. Will probably go directly to eBay. Re: Fun with Artifacts
Doug, When I was shopping for a digital camera, I settled on the Olympus C-2000Z, due to money I was able to spend. One reason I went for the Olympus was the availability to use external flash. Look on the side of the camera for a small round button. If you pull this button off you will find a pc sync, I believe that the 3030 should have this. I use my 2000 on a bracket with my Sunpak Auto 522 flash. Works fine. To me, this is better than a hot shoe except that there is no provision for ttl, etc. I believe the 3030 should have this feature since it is basically the same camera body.
