FS: LX and accoutrements

2006-05-06 Thread Illinois Bill

Hi Gang,

After much debate, I have decided to sell off the LX that I
worked so hard to purchase. It has not seen any use, or thought
since I bought my *ist D.

I bought this LX about 4 years back and had it shipped over from
England. Unfortunately it broke down after several months of use. I
believe the problem has to do with the shutter/locking mechanism.
The mechanism is stuck half way in between locked and on. Thus the
camera is unusable as it is right now. I believe the repair to be
simple/relatively inexpensive, however my current financial situation
doesn't allow me to have it fixed before selling. I have a great
variety of accouterments for it also.

Please email if you are interested in the LX or accouterments.

Actually, I sort of want it, but expect the price will be higher than
what I'm prepared to pay for another camera right now - based on what
people usually ask for (and get) when selling an LX. Which suggest to me
that it's age isn't quite over yet.

Then there is the question of postage etc.

But if you think you can give me a really good price...

Busy this weekend, so won't be checking mail Sat or Sun til p.m.

For Sale:

LX. $300 or CDN$400 plus shipping of US $15-ish depending on method chosen
It has the FA-1 finder and I replaced the SB21 screen with a brighter SE60
(bought from Peter of Sunny Brighton). It's definitely been used. It has a
fair amount of scuffs and scratches and the leatherette is lifting slightly
in a couple of places but it's not actually showing any brassing. A couple
of bright spots on the top edges of the prism. Serial number is 52
something and film speed goes to 3200. I also have a brand new user manual
for it. Speeds were checked about a year ago and it had sticky-mirror fixed
with a service about three years ago and it's been fine ever since.

FS: LX with broken mount

2002-11-29 Thread Ryan K. Brooks
Hi folks,

I've got my LX for sale. I bought it from a dealer while on a business
trip only to discover later that the mount is seperated (read cracked)
away from the body.It didn't cause me much problems, and I didn't
notice this right away but it's too late to return. Now it's looser
and can be easily pulled apart by han; the rest of the camera is
perfect- even had the bumpstops replaced and new strap lags recently.
All electronics/mechanics are otherwise fine.

Anyway, I don't know how much this is worth but if someone makes me a
reasonable offer, it's yours + shipping.

Hi,

Somewhere in the Jessops (UK) secondhand system is an FC-1 (the
action eyepiece part of the "sports finder") for £25. I was
told that it was in my local branch, went to see it and was told
that it had been shipped out into the system on Friday. I have
one of them and was only interested because of the excessively
low price. I have no idea of the condition. There may be other
parts available as the assistant told me they "only buy this
stuff in at low cost" when they are selling new gear.

Go get it.

If any of our overseas colleagues is interested, let me know and
I'll see if I can get it.

Seeing as how we were having List problems on Friday and I wasn't sure
whether stuff was going to get through - I'll post this stuff today.

My apologies to any who are offended by the For Sale on a Monday
rather
than on the usual Friday.

Here we go:

1.  Pentax LX - in KEH EX+ to LN- condition - comes with FA-1 finder,
standard split microprism screen (SC-21) and mint condition Leather
LX case
(includes box for case), original instruction manual and extra SE-20
Screen.  The only issue is the SE-20 screen has a bit of a mark on it
in
the top left corner and does not hinder the critical focus mid
point.  New
batteries just put into the LX - I've used this for the past 5 months
and
all speeds are accurate with no "sticky mirror syndrome" -
$640.00 CDN or $420.00 USD

2.  Sigma 90mm f2.8 Macro in K-mount - in KEH EX- condition - metal
construction except for the aperture ring - an excellent lens for 1:2
macro
and portraiture.  An all around solid lens that takes shots like this:
http://www.usefilm.com/showphoto.php?id=17106
52mm filter size.
$165.00 CDN or $110.00 USD

More to come later.

Say it ain't so, Joe! Selling the best manual focus 300/2.8 in the
world? Aaargh...

Note: I sold this lens to Cotty awhile back... replaced it with a new
one... it really is pretty sharp even at f2.8; it handles great; and
with the Pentax 1.7x AF Adaptor makes a superb 500/f5 lens that rivals
the FA* 600/4 in usefulness and image quality.

...folks, this 300/2.8 is the best bargain in big glass for Pentax...

Kind of FS, LX and SMC 100/4

2002-02-23 Thread Flavio Minelli

Hi all,
I have access to the following equipment, if someone is interested
please contact me off list.

LX in good conditions, it has the ISO dial going to 3200 (should
identify it as a newer version, I believe). I tested it over the counter
of a small repair shop here in Roma. It comes with a waist level finder
(isn't it strange?) and it seems to work fine.

SMC 100/4 (should be the K version), goes to 1:2. Appears in very good
condition (EX).

I don't have an idea of the actual value of these items and the guy
didn't appear too eager to sell them but I think I should be able to
take a test roll and some detailed photo, if there's an interest. The LX
tempted me but without a prism finder I can't see an actual use for it.

In case you're tempted, drop me a line.
If you have an idea of the items value please let me know as well, based
on KEH I can guess about 400-600 USD for the LX and 150 or so for the
lens, am I right?

Ciao, Flavio

This one is #531, which has the roller on the

the meter. It just had a complete CLA, and mirror box
overhaul within the last 9 months. It is in great
cosmetic condition because it has lived in my studio

FS: LX (early model) body only no prism.

2001-10-04 Thread Gianfranco Irlanda

Hi everybody,

It's sad to part from an LX but this one has to go.
This is an early model, the one without the meter activation by
the prism release button. It works fine, the metering is really
good and it is not affected by sticky mirror disease. It comes
with the SC-21 screen. Cosmetically it's nice except for a
superficial loss of paint near the mount, where the X and FP
signs are engraved.
It has a problem, though. The focusing is good when you focus
using the center part of the screen, but it's slightly off when
focusing is done using the upper or the lower part of the frame.
If you are used to focus with the focusing aids and then
recompose the frame, you will never experience any problem. It
can surely be fixed, but I have no time to care about it.
I'm NOT going to sell it through eBay.
If I do not receive a fair offer I'll probably trade it for
something else at the local shop, but I'd prefer to find it a
good new home.

Please contact me off list if interested.

FS; LX for repair or parts

2001-05-28 Thread Rob Studdert

Hi Team,

I have an LX body for sale that has definitely seen better days, it could be
repaired however it is probably more suitable for parts. It would be easier to
describe the problems it doesn't have than those it does.

Good points:

Chassis, strap lugs, back + pressure plate, bottom plate, has all bottom
body covers, dials are all, wind lever, shutter button and lock, all the display
flags seem to work, panels aren't dinged but they show sings of wear, screen
looks OK (SE-21, can only see it from the prism side), clean inside, lens
mount good, no holes in shutter curtain.

Bad points:

Paint ware on the two top panels (no bare metal though), shutter stuck
(mirror stuck up, shutter half way, no movement in advance lever), advance
lever cap damaged, collar under advance lever loose, TTL contacts on front
synch socket misaligned.

There may have been some things that I have missed (not intentionally :-) so
it will be sold as is on a no return basis. I am after US$70 for it, shipping via
Air to the US (not including insurance) would be US$6. Please let me know
(off list) if you are interested, I can provide photos if required.

Cheers,

FS: LX Finders (Correction)

2001-05-23 Thread Pål Jensen

FB-1 (excellent, boxed with manual) + FC-1 (excellent, boxed with manual): $250
FE-1 (excellent, boxed with manual): $140

The finders are hardly used and just collecting dust. Prices in US dollars.

[Its the FC-1 I have for sale above, not the FD-1 as in previous post]

FS LX Original Everready Case

2001-03-07 Thread Albano_Garcia

Hi, friends.
I tryed to put it on ebay, but I need a credit card wich I don't own by the
moment, so I decided to offer it here. It's an original LX everready case in
good condition. It has some rubbings in the back of top cover and in some other
small parts, but it keeps its all brilliant black finish (the rubbed points are
black too, not this ugly light brown). The inner crimson velvet is in good shape
too. I'm selling it because I never use it and I need some money.
If you are intersted send me your offer. I will sell to the highest offer
(obviously if it is too low, I will not sell, because I'm selling it, not giving
it away).
Regards

Albano

FS: LX SC-21 Focusing Screen

2001-02-25 Thread Shel Belinkoff

While doing an inventory of some miscellaneous gear today I
discovered several SC-21 focusing screens for the LX for which I
have no need. I would like to sell a couple. These are new,
never been in a camera, but were purchased "en grosse" and so
don't have the small Pentax case and installation tool. I will,
however, ship them in a small filter case, and they will be
amply protected.
I'll let 'em go to list members for $12.50 each, including
postage. Somewhat less if you want both. If interested,
contact me directly, at the address below.
