From: Darren Addy First off, I was assuming you were talking about a problem with the Google search page, but now I wonder if you mean the Search box (that can be set to different search engines, in the Firefox browser). Do you have the same problem with another browser (like Opera or Chrome)? Firefox 3.6.6 is no longer considered current: http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/products/download.html?product=firefox-7.0.1os=winlang=en-US Would be curious to know if you have the same problem there. I mean the search box on the page at http://www.google.com/ I don't use the search box on the toolbar, and I don't use any other browser. Firefox is supposed to automatically update *does* frequently prompt me to download install updates. I just double checked my preferences and Firefox is set to automatically check for updates, but When updates are found ... ask me what I want to do. I install the updates when it prompts, but I make it wait until I'm finished with whatever task I'm doing at the time. It usually installs updates the next time I start Firefox. I don't know why it is down-level. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

I type about 15 characters in the Google search box it just loses focus. I have to click in the search box again to get it to let me type the rest of the search term. EG: apropos today's discussions, I wanted to know What is the difference between a spoonerism and a malapropism. But I am only able to type What is the dif before the search box loses focus. I have not changed any of my preferences. Occasionally, when this happens I get a bar along the top of the window from Firefox Do you want Firefox to remember the password for Google+? It seems to have started some time yesterday. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Probably a bug that was introduced in a recent code change. If it is like others that have done similar tricks in the past, the temporary solution is to Disable Instant (search autocomplete): http://practicalrambler.blogspot.com/2011/09/how-to-disable-google-instant-no-google.html I hate Instant, so the solution of setting my home page to: http://www.google.com/webhp?complete=0hl=en is my personal preference.
