I decided to make 6 family calendars featuring 4 pictures from the
three family weddings that occured in 2010.
I spent almost two hours loading, aligning, moving and adding family
dates, and proofing..

The 6 calendars, with tax were about $120.00 CAN. I received them last
night, and the first thing i noticed was i made a 1 day boo boo on two
of the three anniversaries.

My daughter suggested to redo them, but then i have $120 worth of
junk of i do. Liz said don't worry, they probably won't notice anyway.

I really don't want to spend another $120.

Treat them like stamps - the mistaken ones are much more valuable.

I was a massive fan of theirs when I was a teenager. I had all of their
albums, singles and solo work, including Syd Barrett's albums and a few
bootlegs, but the last album I bought was Animals. After that I found them
boring and have never listened to any of the later albums (although I know
some of the tracks). I bought some of their albums again 2 or 3 years ago
because I'd rediscovered them a bit through Youtube, but I don't listen to
them much - maybe once or twice a year. It's an interesting experience
because it demonstrates something to me about the deterioration in my
hearing - there are notes that I can no longer hear, particularly in the
upper registers, but I knew the tracks so well from my younger days that I
know the notes are there.

Problem solved, i think.

I have decided to redo the two that go to my nephew and wife, and my
niece and her hubby, with the correct dates.
My daughter knows what i'm making and her date is ok, so she is fine
with that. I'll keep one of the screwed up ones and give one to my
sister. She'll never know, same with the ones for the Grand Parents.
Again, I hope.

Dave

BTW I saw Floyd at Maple Leaf Gardens in Toronto just as the Dark side
of the Moon album was to be released. From what i remember of it, it
was great.

I saw the Dark Side of the Moon tour at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester
(that's the short version: there's a much longer story I sometimes tell).
Then I called my brother (still, at the time, living near London) an told
him he had to get to one of the other tour dates (oh, and while he was at
it, he should get an extra ticket for me). We caught the show in Brighton.

I also saw the Pulse tour in Foxwoods stadium, Massachusetts, and most
recently saw the Roger Waters Dark Side Live tour here in California.

I've got most of the Floyd albums on 12 vinyl (including one bootleg
purchased from Virgin Records back when they were a hole-in-the-wall
record store on a Liverpool back street), and most of the CDs too.
I'm not sure just how many versions of DSotM that includes, when you
factor in the Original Masters variants (on vinyl and CD) as well.
And yes, my version is the original (British) Harvest pressing.

I was very much fascinated by PF music and the more my English
progressed the more so. But then I saw The Wall the movie and
effectively I've put PF away for good 10 years. Had a brief come back
period not long ago, but that's about it. I have a number (like a dozen
may be) of CDs with PF music, but I hardly listen to them.

I remember all the fuss and buzz when PF were in Moscow. I don't
remember exactly which members of the band were at the time working
together, but I remember a classmate from school going to the concert
and the light in his eyes when he told the story.
