Re: I'm an idiot
My GFM roll of HIE was shot using my PZ-1, 28-105 and #25 Red.. Turned out fine. I put a piece of aluminum foil, just a hair bigger than the DX window over the window and pressed it into the cavity. Then i put a piece of electrial tape over that. No noticable edge fogging that i could see. Dave Brooks > Will do. I still have lots of LPs, and even played one of them recently. Some records are still not available on CD. Also, I have this strange idea that it is a good way to teach the kids how sound is made, just like it is good for them to see what light is and how pictures are made by showing them the darkroom. I guess I'm just getting old DagT

Scott, You're not the only one around. I have a roll to which I've done exactly the same thing in a PZ-1p. Tell me how the results turn out. Re: I'm an idiot
You know, when I first read your message I thought you had tried to load IR film into an ist D... Now *that* would be idiotic :) I don't know how the ist uses infrared light, but I would develop the film anyway. Maybe you'll just get some spilling on the edge of the frames and the images will be usable... j On 2/2/06, Scott Loveless <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > So I've had this roll of HIE in the fridge for a while and finally > decided to expose it. Re: I'm an idiot
- Original Message - From: "Scott Loveless" Subject: I'm an idiot So I've had this roll of HIE in the fridge for a while and finally decided to expose it. So I loaded it, in the dark, into the *ist, attached a lens and #25 red filter, and headed to the great out-of-doors. After exposing my very first roll of infrared film I unloaded the camera, in the dark, put the cassette back into it's canister, and then placed it back into the fridge to await processing. This was a few days ago. Today. Page 36 of the operating manual. "Infrared film cannot be used. This camera uses infrared rays to detect film transport so infrared film may be exposed." Feel free to point at me and laugh. Process it anyway. The frame counter is a small IR optical sensor that counts sprocket holes. For sure you will have a fogged edge, but the images should be fine... Providing you covered the DX window, which uses a foam seal to keep light off the film, and is possibly not IR opaque.
