My main camera bag is a Domke F1, procured at a fantastic discount when the camera shop I worked at in Pittsburgh went out of business. I have a separate bag for my medium format kit. And a small sling bag for use when I'm traveling by bicycle. And a Lowepro backpack for transporting serious amounts of kit. And a small waist pack for hiking. Plus two other bags of intermediate size. My go-to camera bag for travel is actually a freebie messenger bag I got at a conference a few years ago. It holds a thin laptop (or a tablet) and a body plus a couple of lenses. It doesn't look like a camera bag. It doesn't look "touristy". And it's held closed by two quick-release buckles plus two Velcro strips, so it's a tricky target for pickpockets. It's falling to bits but it's probably my most used option in cities. -- Mark Roberts - Photography & Multimedia www.robertstech.com -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Yep, you've got what I am looking for. I wish this was sold in the US, so that I can see it in person in a store, or at least order from Amazon and return in case I didn't like it. That's why I am curious if anybody has seen similar designs from other brands. Igor Sat Apr 28 15:30:43 EDT 2018 P. J. Alling wrote: I'm a bit skeptical of these sorts of things. When I was doing a lot of work travel I got a convertible travel bag, that could be worn like a backpack, but could also be carried like a suitcase. It wasn't really good at either, though it made a better backpack than suitcase. The design of the hybrid photo bag looks like it's a shoulder bag that you can wear as a backpack with limitations. If that's what you want it looks good. On 4/27/2018 8:57 AM, Igor PDML-StR wrote: I came across an interesting photo bag. Re: Interesting "hybrid" (3-way) photo bag
The Lower Prorunner 350AW is my travel bag. 70-200/2.8 on one side, 15-30 in the middle below the K-1+24-70/2.8. Spare body next to the 15-30, remaining room in the main compartment for spare batteries, chargers, whatever. Back pocket for iPad and paper files (I used to carry a 13” laptop there), front pocket for little stuff like SD Cards, car keys, phone… This all fits under the seat in CRJ regional jets. If I have a tripod along, it straps to the outside, is removed and placed in the overhead on the plane so that the bag will fit under the seat. But once I am at a destination, I switch to a Domke shoulder bag which is barely large enough to carry a K-1 with one of the shorter lenses, the K-1 + 70-200 is on my shoulder or around my neck. I have tried about 4 different larger shoulder bags, all feel too large and awkward to me. So my tradeoff is to carry less, try to plan more carefully what I need when I am out and about away from my base where the 350AW stays with the remainder of my gear. Unless of course I am shooting not too far from my transportation and I can leave the larger bag there to be delved into if needed. In brief, there is no perfect bag, but there may be acceptable compromises depending on work style and other circumstances. sta > On Apr 28, 2018, at 3:13 PM, l...@red4est.com wrote: > > I absolutely love my fastpak 350 for my aps gear, but it hasn't worked so > well for my K-1.
