Re: Question for those who have had submissions accepted to PPG...

2011-12-01 Thread Jack Davis
Three or four weeks ago I put several image judging procedure questions to PPG
with no response. In the past, such questions had received a fairly prompt
response.
Their silence is likely due to a heightened aggravation
level resulting from new system frustrations.

I've submitted two images since the site returned. Not positive how long it
took for the first to be approved, but I'm guessing about 20 days. The second is
still pending after about the same length of time.
I imagine the voting system is essentially as it had been in the previous era
and depends on the balance of yes/not votes relative to some established count
criteria. Predicting the length of time for a voting result would be difficult.

It varies greatly.

When the announced the re-opening of the PPG, I submitted one image,
just to test the system, on October 24. That image is still pending
review. I submitted 10 the last week in October, all but one of which
were accepted or rejected in a couple of weeks. The last of these,
submitted on Oct 24, was accepted today. Of the five I submitted in
the first week of November, two have been accepted, 2 rejected, and
one is still Pending Review.

I am a bit concerned that the one image I submitted on Oct 24 is still
hanging out there is cyberspace, but it still appears in my Under
Review folder on the PPG, and one that was submitted a day later was
just approved today, so I will wait a bit longer before sending out a
search party.
