Re: [PHP-DOC] Duplicated emails

2001-01-24 Thread Hojtsy Gabor

Hi!

I'm receiving all emails from everyone else
duplicated, is there any solution against that ?

You will also get this email duplicated :)
It is common here to use the 'reply to all'
function when replying to emails, which
are important to the reader and for the list.
People often read mail first in their inbox,
and pass the emails for later times in the
box whre the list messages are.

[PHP-DOC] cvs trouble

2001-01-24 Thread Cynic

Err, I'm playing a bit with cvs, and have probably screwed
something up, because after an initial (successful) checkout
of phpdoc/en, I can't checkout anything anymore, and am
getting this error message after any command (example
follows). my sincere apologies if this is my fault; I hope
I didn't f*ck up anything.

cvs release: cannot find password
cvs [release aborted]: use "cvs login" to log in first

It works for me. To work with the docs you need to checkout phpdoc. So
do another login and checkout the whole phpdoc.

Just use cvs login as described. Maybe your cvs login
file is broken, or missing [on your won machine]...

At least you need phpdoc/en and phpdoc/. I personally checking out
only phpdoc/ phpdoc/hu and phpdoc/en when I work with the docs.
It is enough to build the hungarian and enlish docs [on windows
with the other tools properly set up].

I didn't want to check out the whole shebang because it's

I tried to checkout only the en directory (successfully)

I thought maybe setting CVSROOT to .../repository/phpdoc
might help, so either set it to this or used that with -d
in new login (and no, I didn't logout or release after
the checkout before the new login. sorry if that messed
something up).
but now, I can login, or at least it seems so, but get

CVS password:

Set back CVSROOT to the original value.
I don't see any problema in having the
phpdoc/en dir and not the en dir. The whole
building process is based on the dirs layed
out like that. You will also need some files
from the phpdoc/ dir if you want to build the
docs...

err, this is obviously a wrong day today... I need to set up

E:\__phpdoc__\phpdoccvs im -m"The very beginning of Czech docs" cs

what's wrong with that? the options are exactly as per

Are you sure if cs is Czech. Create first a directory in the phpdoc tree
on your local hard disk and then:

cvs add cz

You don't need an commit afterwards.

listitemsimpara2 - TIMEOUT (vypršel èasový limit)/simpara/listitem
   /itemizedlist
  /para

  simpara
Pøi normálním bìhu PHP skriptu je aktivní stav NORMAL. Pokud se klient
odpojí, nastaví se pøíznak ABORTED. K odpojení vzdáleného klienta typicky
dochází, když uživatel zmáèkne tlaèítko STOP. Pokud se dosáhne èasového
limitu (viz functionset_time_limit/function), nastaví se stavový pøíznak
  TIMEOUT.
  /simpara

  simpara
v .conf souboru Apache, èi funkci functionignore_user_abort/function.

V tomto
okamžiku zjistíte, že jak functionconnection_timeout/function, tak
  functionconnection_aborted/function vracejí literaltrue/literal.
Oba stavy mùžete zkontrolovat jediným voláním funkce
functionconnection_status/function. Tato funkce vrací bitové pole
aktivních stavù. Takže napøíklad, pokud jsou aktivní oba tyto stavy, vrátí
  3.

You don't need to add the English files. BTW Roman Neuhauser added a
bunch of them and all are translated.

The correct way to add files:

cvs add newfile.c
cvs commit -m "Added new translation." newfile.c

This means, you must have a newfile.c in your own repository before it
could be added.

Roman Neuhauser === Cynic :)

And I was trying to cvs add _translated_ files in _my_
repository.
I have caught in the list traffic some time ago that missing
files are automatically supplied for builds by the framework,
so I'm not adding them.

If you know that you should only add translated files from the cs
directory, you can try:

cd phpdoc/cs
cvs add
cvs commit -m "My new translations."

to add all new files in the cs directory. But be careful and keep the
size of the added files small.

Ok, I already realized the downside (all files have the same
commit msg in the cvsweb interface), so I'll bite the bullet
and add one after another. It is my understanding that setting
a message with the add command overrides any possible commit
message as far as the web interface is concerned. Is this true?

could you be a bit more specific? if you mean my commits,
they have all the same message (all the files from any

Support for pdflib 0.6 is already completely given up.

Are you sure if cs is Czech. Create first a directory in the phpdoc tree
on your local hard disk and then:

 cvs add cz

You don't need an commit afterwards.

yes, I'm sure. ISO codes for Czech language are ces/cze
(3-letter codes) or cs (2-letter). check out
 http://www.w3.org/WAI/ER/IG/ert/iso639.htm

Well, your TLD is .cz... I wonder where .cs belongs...
Good work on the translation :)

The TLD is .cz but the ISO code for Czech is cs. I have looked into the
modular DSSSL stylesheets and Czech would handeld with cs. It is the
same confusion like ko or kr.

[PHP-DOC] problem with cs translation

2001-01-24 Thread Jim Winstead

it is in some character set other than utf-8. it needs to be in utf-8.
(the html output will be whatever is appropriate for the language, but
the xml needs to be in utf-8.)

There is no need for utf-8. It's a European language and could be
handled just like the French or German manual. But you are right there
are many non SGML characters in the Czech manual.

[egon@dilbert;0]/osiris/sw/src/phpdoc$ make
/usr/bin/jade -d ./html.dsl -V use-output-dir -t sgml ./phpdocxml.dcl
manual.xml
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/bookinfo.xml:73:6:E: non SGML character number 154
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/bookinfo.xml:73:14:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/bookinfo.xml:73:37:E: non SGML character number 154
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:7:30:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:10:42:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:18:56:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:21:52:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:22:17:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:28:31:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:31:22:E: non SGML character number 158
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:40:7:E: non SGML character number 154
/usr/bin/jade:./cs/preface.xml:42:22:E: non SGML character number 158
[...]

The first non SGML character is in cs/bookinfo.xml line 73 column 6.
Roman Neuhauser aka Cynic can you look for it. Do you have a Czech
keyboard? I have no problems with my German keyboard and Umlauts.

yes, I'm sure. ISO codes for Czech language are ces/cze
(3-letter codes) or cs (2-letter). check out

Good work on the translation :)

Yep, the country code is cz, but the language code is cs. Fortunately, the
DocBook dsssl stylesheets also use cs, so there's no need for any dirty
hacks. Cynic/Roman (don't know which one is appropriate), please fix also
configure.in for your language. There are a few language-dependent things
there. Most important being the character set you are using, I'd guess it
to be ISO-8859-2, and as an European, your default paper size for printed
version is most probably A4.
