Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC Stutter and repeating.
Well, I downloaded mplayer OS X 1.0rc1 from www.mplayerhq.hu and followed the instructions on these forums to install it, ie install then open package contents and navigate to Resources External Binaries and copied across the mplayer_ppc file into my usr/bin folder renaming it mplayer and replacing the older mplayer. No luck at all, SB tries to connect to Radio 1 and 2 but then nothing happens the display just shows the station id. I tried both the mplayer_ppc from the universal and OSX packages and neither worked. Ended up replacing with the older mplayer. All BBC live and listen again stations sound disjointed and distorted with broken sound and stutter. BBC 7 is the exception. All other non BBC stations, ie Virgin, Capitol, ABC Sydney sound great. A quick listen via realplayer on the mac in the browser isn't a problem, works fine. [SlimDevices: Plugins] MyPicks - Export stations from SlimServer to SqueezeNetwork

Right now I have used some time making the exact list of stations I want on my server and would love to be able to copy it. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MyPicks - Export stations from SlimServer to SqueezeNetwork
There may be some built-in way to do it which has been introduced recently, but what I did a while back (on someone's suggestion here) was to: 1) upload the OPML files to my webspace; 2) add them under SN/Favourites/Podcasts; 3) put podcasts in the top SN Menu level. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] MyPicks - Export stations from SlimServer to SqueezeNetwork
You need to put the OPML files on the web or file space somewhere - so they have a http://; address. Then you give the http://; address to SN. Try adding this link to your SN/Podcasts settings: http://melford.fastmail.co.uk/virgin_radio_uk.opml You should then be able to browse to the opml file and play via SN. It's a bit late now - but if you put your stations in to SN first, then you can link SN favorites into MyPicks through the opml link at the bottom of the SN My Favorites page. In SC 7.0 - MyPicks became the basis for favorites and uses OPML. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Sirius Plugin Problem
I have intermittent audio dropouts only when playing Sirius. For no reason it will stop playing for a few seconds to a hour or more. I have had this problem for a long time but am now trying to fix it. I have tried this on Win XP, Win Vista and Ubuntu Desktop. Same thing, seems to lead to a hardware problem but have no problems playing ripped music. This points to a router/cable modem/internet problem I would think except for one thing. I have a MS PPC phone (i760) and have installed the SiruisWM5 program and it will play perfectly over wifi for hours which tells me it's not the router/modem/internet. This displays the number (blank, or 1-5), rather than one to five stars. I assume the other title formats are old out-of-date plugin tags that I can get rid of - they are causing errors to be logged, and cause the MIS settings Live Update panel to not display correctly when one of those tags is selected. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Alien BBC Stutter and repeating.
A number of the symptoms you give indicate that mplayer could be the problem. So it is necessary to find a new version that runs on your systems and see if the problem is eliminated. What is your Mac model (e.g. G3, G4, G5, iBook ) ands OSX version (e.g. 10.3.9, 10.4.3, Tiger, Leopard ). For true comparison of AlienBBC - you should play a station format which also uses mplayer and flac/lame. Along the lines of improvements for colonies (like that phrase!), two aspects of player sync in 6.5.x bug me: 1) forgetting Player B is synced to Player A. Turning both off. Starting music on Player A. Walking to another room, turning on Player B. Having Player A restart the song it's on. 2) forgetting that joining a sync group forces a song to start over How to fix that? Another plugin, of course, which would 1) offer a global setting to remove a player from a sync group when it's turned off (so once A or B turned off, they'd cease to be linked) 2) offer a global setting for delayed joining. Trap join commands and, if the sync group is playing local files, wait for a New Song or Pause event to actually add the late joiners. 3) offer a player UI to force join now for those times you want to join the sync group even though that means restarting a song -Peter -- peterw http://www.tux.org/~peterw/ free plugins: http://www.tux.org/~peterw/#slim AllQuiet BlankSaver BottleRocket FuzzyTime SaverSwitcher SleepFade StatusFirst VolumeLock peterw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2107 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=40981 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/lists/listinfo/plugins
