The author is still around. just very busy at work so haven't got time

own various artists. This is how it should work. Can you either
illustrate exactly how I can reproduce the problem or upload some
sample mp3 files the way you tagged it (You can use a very bad

[SlimDevices: Plugins] Help with MultiLibrary and CustomBrowser

2008-07-25 Thread Format71

Hi,

I want to separate all audiobooks from my musicfiles, and have
installed MultiLibrary and CustomBrowser (along with a couple of other
recomanded plugins) to accomplish this task.

Can anybody help me understand how to accomplish my task?

I have made two separate libraries. One including genre 'audiobook',
and one excluding the first library.

I want the 'My library'-menu to be like the original, with an
additional 'Audiobooks' menu, where all audiobooks should be grouped by
writer, reader and title. The original listings should not include
audiobooks.

Is it possible, or do all custom menues become child of the 'Custom
Browser'-menu?

regards,
-Vegar

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC addon to read iPlayer menus

2008-07-25 Thread Chautara

Hi - I've downloaded and unzipped the 3 files into C:\Program
Files\SqueezeCenter\server\Plugins\Alien\Addons, changed the
permissions and ownerships to match other files in the directory,
re-started SqueezeCenter and even rebooted but iPlayer does not appear
in the menu.

I'm running SqueezeCenter 7.0.1 and AlienBBC v2.00 (I have also tried
v2.01b1_7.0)

Any ideas what's going wrong?

bpa;321100 Wrote:
Attached is a slightly improved version of the iPlayer Addon.

 The changes made
 * Only one Listen Again menu item per station - the Addon fetches all
Listen Again pages for the station and consolidates them. This has a
small performance hit as mulitple pages have to be fetched before menu
is displayed. Worst case is Categories - Music which has 14 pages
 and about 500 entries.

 * Episodes are shown similar to iPlayer - just 2 menu entries - most
recent and an other episodes submenu.

 * small fixes to OPML URLs such as 6 Music.

 * Other iPlayer menus added such as A-Z and Categories.

As before just unzip and the 3 files into Plugins/Alien/Addons. These
files replace original Addon files if already installed. The new OPML
should be picked up uponds restart.

As before - please test and notify of any problem especially missing or
duplicated items compared to BBC iPlayer.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC addon to read iPlayer menus

2008-07-25 Thread bpa

The key to the menu is the iPlayer.opml file in Addons. Check that it
exsists, is OK and not corrupted/empty (e.g. edit with Wordpad not
Notepad).

To check if AlienBBC is finding the iPlayer.opml menu.

1. In Settings/Advanced/Logging set plugin.alienBBC to DEBUG and click
Apply.

2. Go to Settings/Plugins/AlienBBC and click Reset menu. Warning If
you have moved the standard AlienBBC menu items around, this step will
reset you menu arrangement back to default.

3. Check the end of the server log file (see Setting/Status) and copy
the output from AlienBBC plugin as it picks up each menu item.

2008-07-25 Thread Chautara

Thanks for the help. Please excuse me if the info is incomplete or not
what you expected but I'm a bit of a novice at this!

iPlayer.opml exists in Addons and when opened with Wordpad there is
plenty of content.

1. I have applied DEBUG

2. I have unchecked AlienBBC in Settings/Plugins restarted
SqueezeCentre. Rechecked and restarted (Iassume this is what you meant
since I can't see a Reset Menu option)

3. see attached file

AlienBBC works apart from the fact that I can't see or access the new
menus and the content of old categories such as Listen Again and A-Z is
incomplete.

With old Listen Again menus and new iPlayer menus - there seems to be
errors in both from time to time. I think it is a transition problem and
the errors seems to be on the BBC - RealAudio URLs are missing from some
items.

The following text has been copied from the

Code:

  STATION MENU
You may edit the top level station menu to delete unwanted

include all default stations plus all Addon stations which
  have been installed.

That's my usecase :-) Didn't do it on the airport, yet but at my
Girlfriend's. Works fine.

There's two ways to do this: A secure and an easy way (as always).
The easy way: (WARNING: THIS MAY BE DRAMATICALLY INSECURE)
1) Set a password for access to SC (settings-advanced-security) and
open a port on your router to port 9000 (you might want to change the
external port to something else to get around all the port 9000
portscans
2) Get a dnydns address and configure your router accordingly
3) dyndns-addr:9000/iPeng - Bingo!

The secure way needs a jailbreak:
1) Install SSH on your iPod.
2) configure your router to allow access to the ssh-port (usually 22.
again, you might want to change this)
3) open an SSH-Tunnel to your home-address on the iPod (Erland posted
this once: ssh -lusername -pssh-port -g -fN -L9000:localhost:9000
dyndns-address)
4)localhost:9000/ipeng - Bingo!

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC addon to read iPlayer menus

The following line in the log

Code:

  [08-07-25 17:03:04.0459] Plugins::Alien::Settings::_import (113) importing
C:\PROGRA~1\SQUEEZ~1\server\Plugins\Alien\Addons\iPlayer.opml

says the menus have been processed andso I expect it to show.

After a reset it may not be the last menu, so go through all the menu
items carefully - it will be the text BBC iPlayer Radio. Make sure
if your Alien menu has gone to a second page that you select and check
the second page.

If you are not using the default skin - make sure you clear out old
browser data and clear browser caches.

I was using the Classic skin and the option to Edit and Reset the menus
 doesn't seem to appear there.

I checked with Classic skin and the options appear.

I wonder whether your installation is correct after you installed and
re-installed different version of AlienBBC. Did you delete the Alien
directory between installations ? When going back in version you may
have to delete the file plugins-data.yaml from the cache directory (see
Settings/Status).

You should also clear out Filecache and templates in case the system is
caching the menus.

slimfx isn't a plugin, so it doesn't go under Plugins. It's a skin, and
should go under the HTML directory. I don't know the file locations
under OSX, but try one level below the folder that holds the SC program
file. If you see folders for other skins like Fishbone, Nokia770,
handheld, etc. then you've found the right place.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Where to install slimfx?

2008-07-25 Thread jimascroft

I found this on the iPeng readme
This is iPeng v0.5, an iPhone/iTouch plugin/skin for
SqueezeCenter/SlimServer

To install iPeng install SqueezeCenter (from v7 on) first, place the
iPeng folder into SqueezeCenter/server/Plugins and restart
SqueezeCenter. You can then access iPeng through
SqueezeCenter:9000/iPeng. Configuration options are accessible under
Settings-Plugins-iPeng.

IPeng shows up. Is there some hidden location on OSX for the skins?
I assumed that the slimfx as it had additional functionality may be
classed as a plugin??

Thanks all.

Jim

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] XM Radio plugin and SqueezeCenter 7.1??

2008-07-25 Thread sgunn

Crabbydude,

The author stated that he didn't have time to fully integrate the XM
plugin into the duet remote, so you have to add them to favorites to be
able to access them from the duet remote. Not a bid deal for me. I
just created an XM folder under favorites and added all the channels
I'm interested in to it.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Last.Fm connection problem

2008-07-25 Thread James

Very strange - It no longer works for me either.
The session request to LastFM is getting a 'bad request' response from
the LastFM server.
But if I paste the same address into FireFox it works fine!

I really don't know what's caused this.

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Where to install slimfx?

2008-07-25 Thread exile

There always seems to be quite a mystery as to where to put things on a
mac. with the latest versions of squeezecenter I've had good luck with
the following:

put all plugins in: library-application support-squeezecenter-plugins
ipeng goes in that same location but the ipeng skins need to be placed
in library-application support-squeezecenter-html.

good luck!

Dav28, I have used Videobox for a while, too. Can you please update
this thread with any progress you make getting a current version or
contacting the author?
Thanks!

I don't know the the OSX location for skins, but slimfx was implemented
purely as a skin. The extra functionality came from running in the Flash
player and accessing the CLI.

However, due to security changes in recent versions of the Flash
player, I had to write a plugin that enables slimfx to access the CLI.
It's attached to a message near the end of the thread...though you also
have to modify one file after installing it (as described in a follow up
message). A lot of work! Hopefully it's worth it!
