Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Dynamic Playlist based on BPM?
I'm sorry, I forgot about this thread. If you like to choose about average BMP numbers, something like this might do it: Code: -- PlaylistName:BPM -- PlaylistGroups: -- PlaylistParameter1:custom:Select BPM:select 20*floor(customscan_track_attributes.value/20)+10,20*floor(customscan_track_attributes.value/20)+10 from customscan_track_attributes where customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='BPM' group by 20*floor(customscan_track_attributes.value/20)+10 order by customscan_track_attributes.value select tracks.url from tracks join track_statistics on tracks.url=track_statistics.url join customscan_track_attributes on tracks.id=customscan_track_attributes.track and customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='BPM' and customscan_track_attributes.value>='PlaylistParameter1'-10 and customscan_track_attributes.value<'PlaylistParameter1'+10 left join dynamicplaylist_history on tracks.id=dynamicplaylist_history.id where audio=1 and dynamicplaylist_history.id is null group by tracks.id order by rand() limit 25; Or if you like to select a free range, you should be able to do something like this: Code: -- PlaylistName:BPM Range -- PlaylistGroups: -- PlaylistParameter1:custom:Select Low BPM:select 10*floor(customscan_track_attributes.value/10),10*floor(customscan_track_attributes.value/10) from customscan_track_attributes where customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='BPM' group by 10*floor(customscan_track_attributes.value/10) order by customscan_track_attributes.value -- PlaylistParameter2:custom:Select High BPM:select 10*ceil(customscan_track_attributes.value/10),10*ceil(customscan_track_attributes.value/10) from customscan_track_attributes where customscan_track_attributes.module='customtag' and customscan_track_attributes.attr='BPM' and customscan_track_attributes.value>='PlaylistParameter1' group by 10*ceil(customscan_track_attributes.value/10) order by customscan_track_attributes.value select tracks.url from tracks join track_statistics on tracks.url=track_statistics.url join customscan_track_attributes as lowbpm on tracks.id=lowbpm.track and lowbpm.module='customtag' and lowbpm.attr='BPM' and lowbpm.value>='PlaylistParameter1' join customscan_track_attributes as highbpm on tracks.id=highbpm.track and highbpm.module='customtag' and highbpm.attr='BPM' and highbpm.value<='PlaylistParameter2' left join dynamicplaylist_history on tracks.id=dynamicplaylist_history.id where audio=1 and dynamicplaylist_history.id is null group by tracks.id order by rand() limit 25; I don't have BPM tags in my own library at the moment, so I've no way to verify if this works or not. There is also a "bpm" column in the standard "tracks" table, if this is filled when you have bpm tags it should be possible to do all this completely without Custom Scan. As you say, their tech support is fantastic (it needs to be!). But if they did not "bandwidth shape" the traffic in the first place they would not have had a problem that needed solving. AFAIK they are the only ISP to do this as extensively as they do. However, to give them credit, they do it openly - unlike Tiscali and TalkTalk who do it covertly. I always had that feeling about Plusnet. The tech guys are amazing, many came over from Metronet when they took it over. Metronet had a similar reputation for technical expertise and service. However, Plusnet introduced this hardware solution to the costs and restrictions of delivering a decent, value-for-money service through BT Wholesale. A noble aim, but it has never quite worked as advertised. They use extremely expensive hardware to squeeze as many internet connections as possible through a limited "pipe" by slowing down some services to allow others through unhindered. That way they could offer a cheap connection and deter the P2P and Usenet boys. But despite never using more than 2GB a month, I had nothing but problems with it, so swiftly left Metronet/Plusnet and went with paying a bit extra and getting a clean connection at Newnet who make a strong point that they do not shape or prioritise their service at all. As a result I never had to test their tech support. It always just worked. The only reason I went to Be* and thence to O2 was because LLU is much better value for money (blame BT). Otherwise I would have stuck with Newnet. -- TheLastMan Matt SB Duet (Controller + two receivers) Synology Diskstation 107+ with FW 2.0-0600 SqueezeCenter 7.3.1 on Synology Package Manager Naim 42/110 amp, B&W CM2 speakers in living room. That is probably a timeout as radio 4 listings take many pages which get v. slow to return esp. at peak times. Increase your Radio Station Timeout to say 20. Unfortunately the "no programs" result is cached and so you will not get good results if you try again. Easiest way to to test is stop Sc, delete the FileCache directory in your cache directory, restart Sc and test again. -- bpa bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=60368 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 Linux no longer transcoding WMA (other work though)
I agree that a buggy softsqueeze could be damaging and I certainly don't understand the details of the implementation. I think I saw somewhere that the original author of softsqueeze now works for Logitech so it seemed like they had the power in house to keep the program alive. Softsqueeze looks so professionaly done in terms of the skins and appearance that is seemed worth salvaging. For my setup, Squeezecenter runs on a 400Mhz pentium II with 256M of memory. Softsqueeze runs on a 2GHz Windows XP machine with 2.5G of memory. Both machines are connected via a local network switch. What kind of log can I collect for you. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] AlienBBC 7.3 Linux no longer transcoding WMA (other work though)
Softsqueeze was originally created by a user and SD took it over. Softsqueeze is too hard to get audio sync working and there are other reliability issues which would necessaitate a rewrite. So as a marketing tool it can do damage as well as good as users get frustrated. Squeezeplay is designed properly from the ground up (e.g. I think it can use ASIO) is a better solution for the future. bpa, I installed the new version of softsqueeze you sent. Installation went smoothly. It doesn't seem to fix the problem, although it may act a little different. I see softsqueeze go through connecting and then buffering. It seems to think it's playing but no sound comes out and the mplayer and flac tasks are not running on the server so I know wma transcoding is not occuring. Music libraries still seem to play fine as well as mp3 radio stations. wma radio streams still seems to be a problem. I did verify that it was the updated softsqueeze running. You'll need to download, unzip and then go down to SoftSqueeze.jar and lib directory. Replace the jar file and the lib directory in the HTML/EN/html/softsqueeze directory by the downloaded ones and you should be able to start remotely as normal. What pippin said is correct, Squeezecenter handles all the transcoding. I already have to do that for my Controller as it has an issue with wireless reception and can't stream FLAC files without constant rebuffering (my SB3 has no problems on the same network so it's definitely a Controller issue). This setting can be applied on a per-player basis, so could easily be done for an iPeng player in the future, and I doubt there would be any noticeable sound quality difference through the iPhone/iPod Touch. -- DoomWolf DoomWolf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=8839 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Custom Scan: iTunes Export Statistics problems
Aha, I just got it to work. I think the issue was that although I changed the settings in SqueezeCenter I never kicked off the scan so the TrackStat_iTunes_Hist.txt was out of date. I am just trying to confirm this but I think it's sorted. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hello, I'm running 1.0.5 as downloaded from AppStore. It works great with my system. I haven't used the Duet controller in a week. Here's my issue... I cannot find the 'extras' menu. Specifically the sleep function. What am I missing?
