[SlimDevices: Plugins] SqueezeServer 7.4.1 and SoftSqueeze 3.7 error
Hi I've had SqueezeServer running on my WHS for a litte while now connected to the physical devices in my sig. However, I also replicate the WHS library to my laptop for those times we go away and want a local source. I've used SoftSqueeze as the virtual player on my laptop. Having only just upgraded SqueezeCentre to SqueezeServer 7.4.1 (BTW it would be nice if you could cut n paste from the info tab ;-) I find that SoftSqueeze 3.7 throws a wobbly saying that it can't connect to the server. The Classic skin flickers the Now Playing and error message about not connecting to the server over each other. I don't know how to solve this error. SServer is pointing at my laptop. If I edit the server details in SoftS to Laptop Library it stops the flicker conflict between Now Playing and the error message leaving just the error message on the Classic skin, but still can't actually find the server. Can anyone tell me how I can get SServer to recognise SoftS as a player or is there some completely new way of doing this? Yes sofssqueeze is now a comunitynsuperted plugin valible trough the exstension downloder in the settings (if installed you get back that install sofsqueeze menu item ) And you ought to be running softsqueeze 3.9b see the 3.rd party forum . So remind me what your setup looks like. papajohn has a Transporter and has tried Squeezecenter 7.4.1 on both a Mac and a PC and is trying to access the Canada streams. ibgregr runs Squeezecenter on a Mac and is using the US streams. I don't know what version of Squeezecenter you are using. The odd thing to me is the SQL errors you both had in your log. I can find reference to those same errors by other people, but under different circumstances. They seem to be resolved by using the 7.4.2 beta. Can either of you give that a whirl? Or try downgrading and using 7.3.3? I can't reproduce this, so I'm just taking random stabs. What is the setting for HIGH/LOW temp display on the BOOM. In my SBS with %z it shows the LOW when low is lower than current temp and the HIGH when HIGH is larger than current temp. Is this supposed to work this way or is there something I've not set correctly. Thanks? I'm confused. I just want a PC to act as a Squeezebox - I would like to test Ipeng (iPhone) in real life before I buy a SB Touch after New Year - have no hardware Squeexebox yet. And then Squeeze Desktop ?Softsqueeze ? Squeezeplay ?. Squeezeserver ?. Squeezeslave? Confused! Have been through a lot of wiki reading.but still confused. Everything has changed its name 1. Is it a MUST to have a HARDWARE squeezebox to use mysqueezebox.com interface ? (Now I got music playing with Server and Slave, but) I would like to use a nice fully working software version which I remember from Softsqueeze, that looked like a Squeezebox 3 on my PC screen or a fully working software version of Squeeebox Touch. 2. How do I get that? I can also accept a nice and stylish user friendly web interface, but do I need to open both the Squeezeslave and the Squeezeserver? I do not like the slave and would like to go without it. Internet radio feature is a must ! 3. Is Squeezeslave the only opportunity, if I want to use my PC as Squeezebox? I often need to restart Squeezeslave-pastable.exe to get the music through. Have also tried with Squeezeslave.exe - works too - squeezeslae-asio.exe? - not - Why are there 3 - what should I use? 4. I have made a Now playing-playlist with 3 internet radio stations - how to make it automatically jump to the next station, after playing the first one for some time - i am trying to make the squeezeserver MIX 3 radiostations - to get more variaton, but without pressing the NEXT button. Hi, I'm a recent new user of iPeng and the iPhone (been with Slim for awhile). I'm running SC 7.4.1 and iPeng 1.2.1 on a 3G S over WiFi. I find that if I use iPeng and either let my iPhone lock or I choose to put it in to sleep mode then when unlocking (iPeng automatically appears) it won't respond to my commands even if I wait a bit for the WiFi to reconnect. If I then quickly put the phone back into sleep and unlock I find the iPeng has updated the Now Playing screen and I can control my Squeezeboxes. Is this expected behaviour? I don't have the preserve connection enabled, should I? does this keep WiFi alive on the iPhone? I've just installed the newest server version and I'm having a problem with SuperDateTime. I've installed 5.8.10 and the time is not showing on the screen, only the weather. Before it updates initially, it shows the Weather logo and time, but once I press + to refresh, the time disappears. Any suggestions? I am running SBS 7.4.1 and Superdatetime 5.8.10, but am still not getting NFL or college basketball (and during the season football) scores. The Plugins menu in the Web interface shows the proper 5.8.10 version number. Do I need to delete a cache file somewhere? It can then take a few seconds until the connection is re-established but then iPeng should work fine. An exception is if your server's IP address changed while the device is in sleep mode and also I did have some similar reports in the past, but we were never able to reproduce this. Do you _always_ get this and does control never come back? You can see whether WiFi is on through the WiFi icon on the iPhone status bar. One more thing is: this can indeed take a bit longer on iPhone because iPhone doesn't completely lose the connection (3G stays on) so iPeng may take a bit longer to find out that now it can indeed use WiFi again. You are correct, Preserve connection will keep WiFi enabled. This costs battery life (around 12-15h with iPeng running) but will give immediate control when it comes back. [SlimDevices: Plugins] genpuid for mac?
Hey y'all - I'm a MusicIP fan as I'm sure a bunch of people around here are. (So much so that I was actually a paying customer before they went belly up...) I use linux at home and windows at the office and have collected both the MusicIP Mixer and the genpuid's for those platforms since I use them semi-regularly. I'm getting my brother a squeezebox for Christmas and he is a Mac user. I'm sure he's going to love MusicIP as well. I've got the MusicIP Mixer for Mac, but does anyone have a copy of genpuid for mac that I could get my hands on? I can't find it on the web - my googling skills must be rusty. I know he'll inevitably want to use it instead of the GUI. I think it will control software players too. 3. If you have squeezeslave running you must have the server etc. running too. You can also try squeezeplay. [SlimDevices: Plugins] Problem with the Album Review plugin
It seems that the setting to ignore () is not working with 7.4 I add the year of the album to many of my albums (1994) for example and now on all of those it will not get an album review. I've tried it after getting rid of the year and it works fine so I guess the setting to ignore that isn't working correctly now. Not a huge deal, well actually it is for me if I want to use it and I do really like being able to bring up a review on my sb3 every once in a while, but not earth shattering or anything. I really like the biography and album review plugins so I hope this can be fixed.
