Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hello Pippin, Thanks for the update. It took me seconds to get it to work on my 3G iphone and more than an hour to get it to work on my Touch ver. ???!!! And I must admit that I am not 100% sure if it works every time on my Touch yet. Will do more testing during the next few days. One other thing I have noticed since your last 2-3 updates is that whenever I start your application it always starts in the choose source picture instead of play now. I havent been able to find out how to change that and it it is really annoying not only for me but also for my wife. We only have one player so no need to get that picture everytime. Is there a way to get rid of that? I have attached a piture of the screen. Thanks. A lot of people didn't find that. So what happens here is that iPeng obviously is having trouble finding your player (or better: your server) in time. What I find interesting here is that iPeng DOES indeed find the server but no player, could it be that your Squeezebox is not connected to the server? Do you have MySqueezebox.com working? What exactly was the issue that made it take an hour to get iPeng to work on the iTouch? There's one issue I'm aware off on the iTouch and that is that it sometimes doesn't seem to connect a WiFi connection to iPeng, in this case restarting the App or even sending it to the background (in IOS4) and bringing it up again usually helps. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins

Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
Hello Pippin, Dont mind what it say in the screenshot - that was just to show you where I was when it starts. So when I installed my touch and turned it on it did not start my homeserver. I tried several times - I checked that everything was set up like on my iphone. Nothing helped. I then tried to uninstall Ipeng and install again but ended up with the same issues. During all this I could not get a mac address in Ipeng. I chose to add a server and then it could somehow see my albums. but my squeezebox was not shown as available. I restarted it serveral times and for some reason it suddenly started without me changing anything. It is slower than my Iphone and during the 3 times I tried it this morning it started after a short while. I deleted the server that I added but it still shows up when I turn on Ipeng below mysqueezebox.com. I will test again when I get home but I am not so confident that it is 100% stable on my touch ver. 1 compared to my Iphone which just works like it should - except it gives me that startup screen as I attached before which I have to move away from manually. If I start Ipeng while my home server is running I dont get that screen. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] iPeng support thread
OK, here's what you should do: 1. When you first start iPeng your server has to be up and running and you should have your Squeezebox connected to it. iPeng should the see the server and the player. 2. If you want to use Wake-On-LAN to wake up the server, go to the screen on your screen shot and press the blue on your server. Here you can enable WOL and enter the MAC if it's not already detected correctly. NOTE: You have to leave that screen before quitting the App for your changes to be saved. 3. If you use MySqueezebox.com, select that Music Source, too, on this screen so that iPeng can get registered (you have to do this for each iThingy) and see your players on MySB in the future. In the future, when your start iPeng it should wake up your server. But it can indeed take several seconds until your server is up and running and especially until your Squeezebox is connected to the server (it will disconnect when the server is off and also has to find the source first). I'm a bit surprised that your iPhone 3G is slower than the iPod, as of my experience iPhone 3G is usually the slowest device around (it's as fast as an older iTouch but does a lot more in the background). However, WiFi can take a few seconds to come up on the newest generation of the iTouch. -- pippin --- see iPeng, the Squeezebox iPhone remote, at penguinlovesmusic.com pippin's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=13777 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=51929 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
[SlimDevices: Plugins] MusicIP Headless/Sugarcube/Win7
Apologies if this has already been covered, but I am coming up empty when I search. I have previously been successful in installing MusicIP Headless on a Vista 64-bit machine by following the guide provided at www.spicefly.com However, I am unable to successfully install on Win 7 64-bit. MusicIP GUI install is successful, and I re-assign to port 10003. When I go to Command Prompt (run as admin) and get to musicmagicserver /install - response is Starting server on port 10002 but then it hangs. And no service shows up in Control Panel. Can someone point me to the solution here? I don't believe Spicefly site has addressed Win 7 (eitherr 32 or 64) Thanks much for any help! -- SlimTrigger SlimTrigger's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19278 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81645 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announce: Spotify Premium Plugin (Beta)
First of all, thanks for your time to develop and maintain this (for me) vital plugin for Squeeze. I've been looking for a streaming solution with Spotify enabled for some time now. Before I pull the trigger on Squeeze I am testdriving it with SqueezePlay. SBS and Spotify plugin are installed on my ReadyNas NVX (x86). I've got the latest releases on all software/firmware. Now my problem: the plugin fails to play. Everything else works (album art, scrolling through Spotify's library, etc.). The plugin doesn't report an error: Helper App: Running, Current logged in to Spotify, Login Error: No error, Last Error: No error SBS reports this error: [10-08-31 21:08:53.6508] Plugins::Spotify::ProtocolHandler::new (43) Spotify client not supported: squeezeplay [10-08-31 21:08:53.6532] Slim::Player::Song::open (465) Warning: stream failed to open [spotify:track:6JlXYQoQjVt5ji8mXfQRlh]. Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] Announcement: Whitebear Media Server (UPnP/DLNA) v2.0 released !!
Andrew, Reading through the rest of this thread, I wondered if you ever got the UPnP Renderer functionality working? Am I correct in thinking that this would allow a UPnP Controller to determine what is played by the Squeezebox? I am hoping that I will be able to use XBMC (which is shortly due to gain a UPnP Controller service) to control my squeezebox, with the squeezebox doing the actual playing. [SlimDevices: Plugins] How hide/remove stuff from MusicIP?
As the two drives I use for music (one internal, one USB) were getting pretty full, I've added a 2TB USB drive to replace them. I've copied my music onto it, and tried repointing SqueezeCenter (sorry, Squeezebox Server) at the new location with a wipe-and-rescan. I want to make sure that the new setup really works before I commit to it completely. Unfortunately, the MusicIP import has added many duplicate albums, seemingly copies from the old locations. I opened the MIP GUI to try to change its behaviour, but though I can add more drives for it to watch/scan, I can't find a way to tell it to forget the old ones, even though they can be removed from the watch list. (And now it's finding multiple copies of tracks by itself, so I dread to think what the next import into SS will do!) I don't want to remove my files from the old drives until I'm happy that the new drive is OK. (Also, I'm fairly sure that removing or hiding the old files will only make MIP complain.) So how can I remove the details from MusicIP, and only include details from files in the new drive? Is there a wipe MusicIP cache option somewhere? I'm saving the analysis to tags, so hopefully MIP won't spend years re-analysing everything. -- Brian Details, schmetails: Win XP; SS 7.5.0; MusicIP Mixer 1.8.1b -- Brian Ritchie Brian Ritchie's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=2319 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81653 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
Re: [SlimDevices: Plugins] How hide/remove stuff from MusicIP?
Firstly, to me full MusicIP import is not really worth the effort as it introduces errors. Set it to just read the mixable status of songs. It's good that you've achived the musicip analysis to tags. This means you can wipe the cache in musicip without worrying about getting it back easily. I think somewhere on settings it tells you where it is stored. Can't remember now where exactly but can check if you can't find it. You can simply delete the file (while musicip is closed). MusicIP should recreate it. Make sure MusicIP isn't looking at the old playlist folder either. Could also be that your playlists are still pointing to the old file locations. You can edit most playlists in a text editor to fix this. For example by searching for F:\OldMusic\ and replacing with G:\NewMusic\ if all the rest of the folderpath is the same. -- lrossouw Louis 'Last.fm' (http://www.last.fm/user/lrossouw) lrossouw's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=3416 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=81653 ___ plugins mailing list plugins@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/plugins
